The staff is very friendly and more than willing to assist. During the short time that we visited, I saw a walking tour explaining the history of the bookstore/area and a few people discussing the topic of the day. They both called and texted to let me know it had arrived. The service is extremely helpful. Nestled among some charming boutiques, restaurants, and specialty shops, Bronx River Books offers a good range of classic, contemporary, and local authors. It is well-stocked besides neatly organized and stacked. It has easily become one of my favorites stops when in town.

Mike's a big guy and my first reaction was, "I'm scared of him". Turns out he's a retired NYC Detective and once we started to chat, I found him to be charming and extremely engaging. I'm in the process of relinquishing my LP collection (I'm 72 and have a pretty big inventory). Hence, I'm a seller and not a buyer and yet I have been treated with respect and courtesy and was very happy with the transactions. Bottom line is that Mike (and TJ) are music lovers and that's why they do what they do. Highly recommended from a Hastings on Hudson resident.
