I called trano for my boiler to see if it could be repaired, since it had not been working. A man came to my house and instead of speaking to me the landlord. He spoke with my tenant whom he said, "told him his boiler was not working." He ended up changing the copper coupling that he claimed was the cause of 1st flr boiler issue. The true problem was, I needed him to check my boiler. I explained that was not the reason why I called you. If he had spoken to me first, he would have known why he was called. I came to the basement, and had no idea that he was doing work. The boiler was pilot out, and not the coupling b/c it had been replaced 2 months prior. Plus, I always lit the boiler when it goes out. After, I told my regular plumber what happened. He removed the new coupling and reinstalled previous coupling. It worked fine, and continues to work. The fee $265.00. My plumbers fee $50.00. Next time, a owner calls for service, ask for the person that called you. I never called these over price crooks again. read more

I waited months to leave this review, so that I didn't sound too angry. For many years we had a great relationship. My house is close to their business, I gave them cash and didn't try to negotiate their prices, and they showed up on time to give me great service. This past winter I called them to replace my water softener. Stephanie explained that they were very busy and I explained that I was in no hurry and that they could stop by anytime between 7am and 10pm M-F. She told me to check back with her the next week to make an appointment for an estimate. The messages I left went ignored. The next time we spoke she also told me to call back next week. I was finally able to get an appointment for an estimate but no one showed or called. This happened three times - NO SHOW NO CALL. After several weeks she used caller ID to avoid my phone calls. I know this because my wife called from her work phone and got through on the first try a minute after I tried. That was when she made us a third appointment, no show no call. It seems to me that Trano is just so busy that they are dumping old customers to work on bigger more profitable jobs. I think the right thing for them to do would have been to refer me to another local plumber but instead they played games with me for six weeks until I gave up. I was quite frustrated and disappointed until I found Jon Uzarski in Garwood who is an awesome plumber. read more

After some ok experiences, I was surprised and disappointed by my last one. They are nice people and came promptly, but said they could not find an access point which I easily found on my own after they had left. The subsequent bill was considerably higher than I felt was fair under those circumstances. A friend said she had found that service varied a lot depending on who showed up. read more

While I never actually hired Bruce Trano, my brief experience trying to get a price quote from him, he obviously was playing games.

On Memorial Day weekend my sump pump decided to break and had water everywhere in my finished basement. Called Bruce Trano plumbing and got the recording and then called emergency number which was picked up on the second ring and Stephanie was on top of it right away. She called me back in 5 minutes to let me know someone would be to my house in 30 minutes with a new sump pump. She went even further to help me out and gave me servepro number and offered to help in any way she could. Not only were they here in 30 minutes and professional but Stephanie followed up with me a couple days later just to see how I was doing and how we made out, not to tell me I owed money but simply to check in. Who does that anymore? They do! It shows to me that they care about their clients and that means a lot. I highly recommend them and think they are fantastic. read more
