I contacted Travisano Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, and they told me they would come out early the next morning. To my surprise, the owner, Peter Travisano, personally brought over three space heaters that same evening to make sure we stayed warm overnight. The heaters worked great and truly gave us peace of mind. The next morning, the service technician arrived early as promised and quickly fixed the problem. The team was prompt, courteous, and truly went above and beyond to make sure our home was warm and comfortable. I highly recommend Travisano Plumbing, Heating and Cooling!

I was a loyal customer of Ryan & Company for several years and had an active maintenance contract…read morewith them, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I contacted them regarding a furnace issue that, while intermittent, was serious enough to require attention--especially during the winter months. We have a young child at home, and I made that very clear, along with my concerns about maintaining consistent heat in the house. Their technicians came out multiple times and were unable to diagnose or fix the problem. After several unsuccessful visits, the owner got involved. Initially, he was professional and appeared committed to resolving the issue. However, once it became clear that they couldn't fix the problem, everything changed. Communication completely stopped. No follow-ups. No updates. No accountability. During this time, we repeatedly expressed serious concerns--not just about comfort, but about safety. We were dealing with unreliable heat in the middle of winter, had a young child at home, and even communicated concerns about our pipes potentially freezing while we were away on vacation. Despite this, we were essentially given the runaround and the issue remained unresolved. It's also important to note that the manufacturer was only brought in after we specifically requested it, following multiple unsuccessful service visits by their technicians and the owner. Ultimately, the problem was not fixed by Ryan & Company, but only after the manufacturer became directly involved. That distinction matters. Despite having an active maintenance contract, they stopped sending technicians altogether. The owner refused to speak with me directly to address the situation. Instead of standing behind their service or working toward a resolution, the contract was canceled and a check was mailed for the remaining balance--without any meaningful discussion. To be clear, that cancellation came after repeated failed repair attempts, lack of resolution, and a complete breakdown in communication--not as some isolated or voluntary request. I also strongly disagree with their claim that I was "verbally abusive." Like any homeowner dealing with an ongoing heating issue in the winter--with a child in the home and legitimate concerns about frozen pipes--I was understandably frustrated. Expressing that frustration does not equate to abuse. What's most concerning is the lack of accountability and the way this situation was handled once it became difficult. After years of being a paying customer, this is how they chose to respond. If a company can't fix a problem, that's one thing. But abandoning a long-time customer, cutting off communication, and deflecting blame is unacceptable. In the end, when things got difficult, they didn't fix the problem--they walked away from it.

As the author of the first Yelp! review for Ryan, and a very satisfied recipient of their services…read morefor both a boiler replacement and a new water heater, writing this update is legitimately painful. For their work on both major systems, we couldn't be happier with their service, merchandise or prices. For their servicing of this equipment, including the fulfillment of their contracted obligations under their ComfortPlus agreement, we are mightily disappointed. A lot may have changed since our last major systems work, and it could very well be that Ryan has simply grown too fat from their commercial accounts to care about servicing residential customers. They remain courteous and professional when called, but their interest in service seems to end once the phone is hung up. In late January we were experiencing sporadic stops-and-starts of our boiler. Ryan dispatched a service technician to perform a diagnostic analysis of the problem ($69). He seemed to be far more interested in selling a new circuit board ($647) and ComfortPlus contract than in actually repairing our boiler. Strictly from a layman's perspective, a plastic electrical connector was vibrating to the point of losing its electrical connection, causing the gas ignition to abruptly cut-off. The tech's "diagnostic" appeared to be little more than roughly toggling the connector left and right. In the process, he further loosened the connector, but did confirm my suspicion. We finished the 2017 heating season by manually toggling the connector when needed, and waking up to a cold house on many mornings. Within two days of the tech running my Visa card through his tablet device, a series of unauthorized charges began appearing on our Visa statement; all very local. While I won't accuse Ryan of credit card theft or collusion, the coincidences are just too many to completely ignore. In preparation for the current heating season I called Ryan in late October to have this connector replaced. We had received neither the annual maintenance inspection nor the preferential service response for which we had been paying ComfortPlus monthly premiums for ten months. In fact, Ryan wouldn't commit to anything less than a ridiculous four-hour arrival time window-- a week later. After waiting for their arrival an entire afternoon we received a call in the late afternoon that they were cancelling. Rescheduled for three days later, and with the same four hour window, this time they neither showed up or called. If this is a preferential service response I cringe to think what their everyday response performance might be. Later that afternoon I called a reputable local competitor who arrived the next day. That professional confirmed that the Ryan tech had undoubtedly done more harm than good. We cancelled our ComfortPlus contract this morning, replacing it with their competitor's. It wasn't worth the paper it was printed on.
