The staff is super friendly and supportive. I was late for half an hour due to rush hour traffic. After checking in, they took me right away. The specialist is professional, patient and friendly, answering various questions that I had (first time mom to be). After the ultrasound, Dr Cohen explained to me the results in details. I am encouraged to see the positive reviews. I'm lukewarm. My wife saw Dr Cohen for our first baby and we felt he was always joking and not that serious. We only went to him because our options were very limited by our insurance policy. The staff at 1 Brookline Place were generally lazy and late to the office (except 1 ultrasound tech that was consistently good). We felt that they ran redundant tests (and of course we were billed for each of them) but that actual thoroughness was not as good as care we have had since. read more

Dear Yelpers, If I could have given him negative stars I would. This OB/GYN works out of 1 Brookline Place suite 301. Beware ! He is very rude , un proffessional and if by chance you do find him in a good mood, his support staff, techs, admin will make sure they are horrible to you. His ultrasound staff is incompetent and will not introduce themselves or tell you the results of what they are doing. They will send you bills continuously and not answer the phone when you want to pay them. Impossible to get through to anyone in an emergency .All in all they will ruin your pregnancy in every which way possible. Do NOT be fooled by their fancy scanning machines because if the technician performing the scans is incompetent it does not matter how good the machines are! read more

I wish I could give 4.5 stars, because I have had mostly wonderful experiences with Dr. Cohen's office. My regular OB/GYN sends all of her patients to Dr. Cohen for ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy. The waiting room is ok (usually on the chilly side) but the wait time is usually really long, especially as the day goes on. I think this is partially due to his willingness to squeeze in patients throughout the day who are having complications, and they are also very thorough. The staff ended up catching a complication of mine (a poor measurement) and had me come back to monitor it (I eventually had to go on bed rest because it was quite serious). Without their skills, who knows what would have happened to our baby. I am eternally grateful to them. Dr. Cohen took the time to explain the complication including what to expect and follow-up procedures. My husband and I enjoy his appropriate sense of humor (my hubby actually said he thinks Dr. Cohen is they type of guy he could be buddies with in real life). I am surprised by the negative reviews. All of the nurses and technicians have been fabulous. The receptionists are usually pleasant, unless very overwhelmed. Equipment is clean and they explain what you are looking at, especially if you show interest in knowing. I like that they have flat screen TVs on the opposite wall so I don't have to crane my neck at the monitor next to me. All in all, I love Dr. Cohen and his staff in Brookline, and I would highly recommend him, especially if you are high-risk and/or carrying multiples. read more

Dr Cohen was great to me, he alwasy addressed my concerns even if it is not a big deal but as a first time mom everything is a big deal when your pregnant. He was always very kind and made me feel very comfortable. So I am suprised by negative reviews about him. I rated this 3 stars because his office staff, i would see them on facebook on there phones while i waited in the room. Also a women at the front desk be very rude to me one day, the ultrasound techs were very rough and would get that gel a huge mess everywhere. I did not enjoy my ultraounds because of this. I always had one nurse who took my vitals upon arriving who i really liked, she was very nice and sweet i really liked her. I do reccomend coming here because dr cohen is great. read more

Without exaggeration, Dr. Cohen is the best doctor I have ever seen. An early ultrasound indicated a problem with our baby and my OB sent us straight to Dr. Cohen. He has a professional, straightforward and natural bedside manner, is incredibly knowledgeable, and made us feel at ease despite a difficult and scary situation. I wish every pregnant woman could have a doctor like Dr. Cohen. His office staff are friendly and every time my husband and I are there we end up laughing and smiling even when we have heard difficult news. If I could give Dr. Cohen 10 Stars I would! read more

Dr. Bruce F Cohen was my OB/Gyn for my two pregnancies and I absolutely LOVE him AND his STAFF! Dr Cohen has a very funny sense of humor AND is very experienced, knowledgeable and thorough. His staff is very caring and down to earth. I was in a car accident when I was in my 8th month, I called the office and right away one of his nurses got on the phone and told me to come right in to be looked at. They checked me and were very thorough in making sure that everything was okay. The best proof is that I had two very healthy babies as a result of Dr. Bruce Cohen. In fact, with each one, I felt informed, healthy, and happy and in good hands, literally all the way to the delivery room. I can't recommend him enough. By being a "high-risk-pregnancy" specialist he has a complicated patient base to treat and I believe he is the BEST. He delivered my last baby and we couldn't be happier, really. Of course, you should make your own opinion when you meet him but definitely I believe you are in good hands with Dr. Cohen. read more

I love Dr Cohen and have always had a great experience with his staff. I am currently seeing him for my 4th pregnancy and have nothing but great things to say. He tells it like it is which may turn some people off but I always appreciate that in a Dr. He has always been positive and helpful. His staff has always been great and I have always been well informed every step of the way during every ultrasound (and I have had many). I am surprised to read the negative reviews about him and his office staff. He has also never sent me a bill or charged me a copay - that is likely all insurance related and he really can't be blamed for it. All in all I love him - like I said this is my 4th pregnancy under his care and I have healthy children who had great deliveries to show for it. read more

I agree with the other negative reviews as my husband and I had a disappointing experience during our first visit to see Dr. Cohen. We had recently moved to the area and had been recommended to him. With only 10 weeks left in our pregnancy, I was hopeful that our experience with him would be positive and that it would be a good fit. We could not have been more let down. When I asked about availability of baby/ infant CPR classes at Beth Israel, he sarcastically shouted out to his nurse in the hall "asking" her if she would like to give an impromptu lesson..... then proceeded to never answer my question. When I asked him about Beth Israel Hospital and potential tours of the maternity area, he scoffed it off and answered that I could just head down there if I wanted to..... This left me feeling very uncomfortable as we are totally new to the area and wanted to gain some familiarity with the hospital. I wound up signing up for the class I had asked about and the tour I was seeking on the hospital website. We have since decided that Dr. Cohen falls way below our level of expectation and have chosen to see a physician at Brigham and Womens. There is no way I will sacrifice what will be such an amazing experience with someone who has shown us nothing but a side of himself that is completely rude and sarcastic. read more

Dr Cohen was nothing short of amazing and a saving grace during my most recent pregnancy. A few years prior i lost twins at 25 weeks so to say i was terrified of a second pregnancy is a gross understatement. Not only did he go out of his way to reassure me every step of the way he was beyond compassionate to our situation and concerns. He told me if i was ever worried all i needed to do was call and he would work me in to reassure me. My husband and i both found him direct and professional in all aspects of our interactions and i will always be grateful for his care. Yes, definitely needs negative stars. What should have been a wonderful experience was, in fact a dreadful one. Sad, too, a family member highly recommended him to me. I'm surprised by the negative reviews -- my OB has sent me to see Dr. Cohen several times over the past few months in order to consult on some complications with my pregnancy. Yes, some of the office staff are not overly friendly, but I have never found any of them to be outright rude or unpleasant. And he more than makes up for it -- he's caring, compassionate and takes his time in explaining things and answering our questions. Best of all, he has a fantastic sense of humor that actually makes the visit kind of fun (my husband and I are still quoting a few of his zingers). If you appreciate sharp wit and a tiny bit of sarcasm (as we do), you'll fit in just fine. =) read more
