NEW STEEPLE EXTERIOR MCAS did a terrific job replacing the…read moreexterior of the steeple on our church. We are so pleased with their solution and it was a pleasure working with them. We don't know of any other company in the Westchester area that has the experience needed to perform this kind of work. The steeple, which dates from the original construction of the church in the 1970s, is made of plywood. The exterior had been coated with a thick, rubberized, highly water-resistant paint. Because it was only paint protecting the plywood from the elements, it required a new paint job every 6 or 7 years. And because the steeple is so high and hard to access, any painting had required either building scaffolding or renting a bucket truck. A rather expensive bit of upkeep. MCAS helped us analyze other easier-to-maintain options--either traditional shingles or metal sheathing. We decided on metal sheathing because 1) it would have a cleaner look and be more attractive, and 2) it would last longer. Yes, the installation would cost more, but long-term it would be a simpler and more elegant solution. MCAS gave us a great price on the install--around 20k. And despite equipment hassles (the rented bucket truck kept breaking down), they got the work done in 10 days. There was only one actual installer who was an expert with aluminum sheeting. He approached the work as an artist and did a beautiful, impeccable job. On top of that, he was a super-nice guy. Our new steeple should last for 50 years or more and continues to be a bright spot in the Tarrytown community. Michael Casolaro, the owner of MCAS, has a documented history of high-quality roofing work (customized copper gutters to standard reshingling--the gamut) and we are so glad we went with him on this project. P.S. MCAS also reshingled our roof at the same time they resurfaced our steeple, and they did an excellent job with that as well. P.P.S. Please note, this job was done in spring, 2019. We then lived in Westchester, NY, but have since moved.

We're very disappointed in our experience with Moretti Landscaping and Masonry. We hired Frank in…read more2021 and he did an excellent job with our driveway, which has held up great for the last five years. We decided to hire him again in 2023 to do some landscaping around our house and masonry work on our front walkway and steps a year later. The landscaping job was subpar. His guys left large marks in our backyard lawn while doing a tree removal, which Frank was dismissive about. The marks are still there to this day. Within a year, the steps and joints were crumbling, so we asked that he come back to fix them. He did so in 2024, but his guys applied the wrong color stucco to our steps. He sent them back with the proper color, but they did a rushed job before the old stucco dried. I texted him pictures of the discolored steps expressing my frustration, and he told us to give it a few days. When I sent Frank pictures of the discolored steps a week later, he never got back to me claiming later that he knew we weren't happy with the job and, since we still owed him the difference for the work that he did, he didn't bother sending anyone back. We had a lot going on at the time, so we accepted the discolored steps, not knowing just how bad they would eventually get. When we reached back out this year showing him the state of the steps less than two years later (I've uploaded pictures), Frank said he would have to price us out to redo the steps all over again, even though this was the result of them being poorly done twice by Moretti within a four-year period. Not only that, the joints of our walkway are cracked and falling apart after Moretti redid them for a second time less than two years ago. Everyone who's seen our steps since we're shocked a business would leave a job like this, and for him to come back and want to charge us anew is just bad business. In the end, it felt like Frank didn't care much about a small job like ours and was more concerned about trying to hastily squeeze in time between big jobs than to do the job right. Lesson learned. We had heard only good things about this company and the work they did, so this has been really surprising and frustrating. Since Frank didn't respond to my last texts seeking a resolution, I felt compelled to post this review.
