I found Anna via Yelp, and finding a day/time to book was a breeze. Made it to my appointment, and Anna answered the door, and led me to where the magic happens. Sat on the hair, and I was leaned back. First time having that at a brow wax appointment! We chatted, discussed some preferences, etc., but it was mostly me asking her for her advice cause I'm rather low maintenance and had no clue on what would shape my face and whatnot. Anna asked if I used anything for my face, reaction, etc., which was great. She was really honest about my brows and didn't need much because they are naturally full and such. Yay I suppose, lol. She then worked on them, and I closed my eyes for the process. Measurements, the waxing, etc. Pretty painless, and no redness afterwards! I felt completely relaxed the whole time that my Garmin boosted my body battery. Whole process took around 20 - 25 mins. Great stuff and very efficient. A much needed clean up, and my brows have never looked better. Will definitely come back when I need another professional brow wax.

The process is pretty quick and if they're not super busy I imagine it would be pretty relaxing laying there in the chair while the dye dries. I think one of my brows is slightly darker than the other- of course it's the one she applied first, but in person it's not as noticeable. I'll totally be doing this again! She did ask what color I wanted to tint with and it was my first time so.... I had no idea lol. However, I decided to play with getting the idea of just getting the under arch waxed and the top tweezed in hopes of not breaking out. I reached out to Evelyn to see if this was an option and she agreed to do so with the disclaimer that they may not look as polished as they would with wax which was a risk I was willing to take. It has now been a few days since I got them done and NO breakouts for the 1st time in my history of eyebrow treatments! Evelyn also wiped the area down with an alcohol prep pad afterward. You can make an appointment online, but it probably would not be too long of a wait if you just walk in. I've also been to the Concord location, which is usually busier. If you've never had threading done it might seem like a strange sensation the first time, but you quickly get used to it. It doesn't hurt, and in my experience it's better (and less risk of breakouts and bad skin reactions) than waxing.

I seen the work on my friend and had to have them for myself. I called and made my appointment. Thuy was very professional and kind on the phone. The salon was very clean and the decor is very pretty. Thuy was very gentle and detailed. You can tell she really takes pride in her workmanship and made sure my brows were perfect. The strokes are very nice, detailed and most importantly even! I had a few procedures done at other salons in the past and you can tell they're all about the money. She cut off around 6-8 inches of length and did an amazing job. She gave me some tips for styling and hair/scalp health. I will keep coming back here and specifically for Jee. She's personable and easy to chat with while she does her magic. The salon is nicely arranged. The owner came by to offer coffee and tea. He also gave me a free, travel sized hair masque when I checked out. The price was very affordable, much more than I'm used to from past stylists or salons. I had really long hair down to my hips, I went in for a trim and some short layers since my hair…read morewas really think, I made it clear I wanted to keep as much length as possible but just get rid of some dead ends and I wanted the bottom thinned out. I also had bangs that were slightly uneven so I asked her to fix that. The lady who cut my hair asked if I wanted I blow out, I told her no, I wanted to walk out with wet hair to see how it would dry naturally since that's what I do regularly. She was apprehensive but I was firm that drying naturally was what I wanted and that I didn't want to the appointment to take longer due to drying. She cut a good 8 inches off, the left and right sides were different lengths, the layers were super choppy, random, and uneven. The ends were not thinned out how I wanted and she didn't touch my bangs. At the end she said "I know you didn't want a blow out but I'm going to do it anyway" literally. She curled the ends and when I left I noticed the ends were uneven. I don't know if she curled them thinking I wouldn't notice but it was hard to miss. I was really sad to lose that much of my length since it took me so long to grow out and I wasn't expecting to get it cut, only a trim which by the way was $90 (partly because the cut was an hour and drying was another whole hour so I had to pay for 2 hours even though I didn't want the blow out) but I went back in because it was too bad to wear in public and this was less than a week before Christmas. I went back in, I told her my hair was really choppy, she said "well you asked for layers" I told her "but this isn't layers this is random pieces of different length, there are longer pieces on top of shorter pieces. She got really defensive and said I kept "moving my head." No I didn't and even if that had been true blaming the customer is just a really bad way to run a business when I'm just asking it to get fixed. I told her I wanted my bangs fixed as well and because they were uneven, she said "you came in like that" I told her "I know but I wanted you to fix them" during this argument the manager came in and had me sit down, he told me they could fix it and had another girl start working on my layers, he said that he would take care of the bangs. The Second Lady working on my hair in my opinion was really rude, she pointed out some grey hairs and I said "I know I have more of them in other places" she said "how old are you?" I told her 25 and she made a face that seemed extremely judgmental. I also notice while she was cutting my hair, she held the scissors and comb in the same hand and while combing my hair I saw her accidentally cut pieces an inch away from my scalp and I felt the scissors tug as I saw her wave LONG pieces of hair away multiple times. She also kept commenting on how thick and tangly my hair was which felt insulting. As I was in there the second time, TWO other customers came in separately saying they were coming back because they had issues with how their hair had been done, the manager didn't respond with "ok let's fix it" even when I noticed the customer wasn't trying to argue they were willing to pay more they just wanted more done, but the manager was very defensive about explaining "this is how it's done" blah blah blah when in my opinion it would have been better to say "what you asked for is ____ this is what we did but if you want more than that would be ____ it will cost more to get you want you want but we can definitely do that if that's what you want". By the time I was done I had been in there for over 2 hours just with the second time I went. I didn't have any layers when I left they basically just cut my length to the shortest piece the first girl left me with which made my ends sprawl out since I had really thick hair and my hair was about boob length now, my bangs had more heft but I didn't like the way they framed my face, to be honest I just wanted to get out of there, I had clearly made a huge mistake going back. When you go to a hair stylist, make sure you go to a place where you know they will LISTEN to what you want, not do some random stuff or get defensive when you asked for something different. I didn't take a picture of my hair after the second appointment, the length wasn't badly cut it just wasn't what I asked for, not thinned or layered at all, and like 13 inches shorter than what I wanted, I've had it cut since then by a hair stylist who LISTENS to what you ask for.

In fact, I was down the street and was in the chair within 10 minutes of calling. Eun Joo kept my length, did only a trim with long layers, exactly as requested! I am always fearful more will be taken off than I want, as that is normally what happens. SO THANKFUL that was not the case today! She took off just around 2 inches, kept the length, added long layers, and light face framing. Very thankful for the refresh just before the holiday. Thank you, Eun Joo!

A friend of mine (he's a dad too) said that he took his son to UBB and got a cut from Leah. We have Asian (thicker) hair and wanted a particular style (low taper fade with texture cut up top). My son went with 'low' expectation but after the cut was completed, he was thrilled at the outcome. Just as he wanted (and showed on his phone from the various research that he did). The haircut came with shampoo and blow dry too. It was very, very responsible in terms of cost too ($40 + tip). The salon is also very chic with seating, beverages as well. I will likely come back for my own haircut as well. *Note: Leah's English is a bit limited so just be aware.
