    Breakfast Poutine (yes!)
    Liz R.

We've visited for just boozy drinks and drinks and dessert, sitting at the bar, and brunch, sitting at a half booth table. Each time we've had very good service and tasty drinks, ice cream and food. Booze: the basics (our wonderful local distilleries) plus other less familiar options. Ice Cream: wow, they have some unique flavor combinations! Heck, we got to try their bone marrow and cherry ice cream during our last visit! You can get a scoop or two of their daily options options (ask for a taster...or 3!), but they also carry pints to go. Food: brunch options were numerous, and we've had problems narrowing them down. We've had both sweet and savory dishes - all yummy! Ask your waiter for recommendations. Bloody Mary Bar: yes! They offer alcohol options (If you haven't tried gin in your Bloody Mary, I highly recommend it!), mix options, and some fun toppings. I'm a sucker for toppings. Fill up your skewer stick judiciously so you can cram as many things on it as possible. Location: we've been lucky to be there when they're not super busy, but we've called a couple weekend mornings and been told they were packed with a huge wait. You may get lucky with street parking - better option is the parking lot behind the building, but you can only enter from the street.

I stopped at Browndog before going to the Farmington Civic Theater, right down the block. Even though it was after 1:00, I was thrilled to see that they were still serving brunch. This is a tiny restaurant: a counter, maybe 10 tables and a few more outside, so I was glad that it was not crowded. There was a new staff person being trained, so service was a little slow. But, I was interested in her being trained, and she was doing a good job. I ordered Croque Madame but requested the egg be cooked hard. It came out PERFECTLY to my liking, which is very rare, as I like very solid eggs. It even had a bit of crunch on the white, which I really like. I am impressed that they did exactly what I asked for; too many places seem to think it can't possibly what I mean. They also have ice cream, but I didn't see the kind of cooler that most ice cream places have. They do sell it by the cone as well as in pints. They have interesting names and flavors, such as Who Needs a Therapist. I was too full to get ice cream, but it was definitely intriguing. I will definitely keep it in mind the next time I'm in the area!

4.5/5 so I will round up to 5. Some friends and I came here today for book club. One friend had made a reservation for 11am. I showed up around then and she and her boyfriend were already there, but she told me that they didn't have the table prepared when they got there ... (minus 1 star? guess it depends on what time they got there). The food is like an 8 out of 5 stars here. Seriously. I am NOT a brunch person but I was pleased to see a Brussels sprouts skillet ($11) - I ordered that minus the egg and it was fantastic. Besides Brussels sprouts, it had potatoes, peppers, and bacon, all fried in duck fat ... delicious. Some friends opted to get the boozy milkshakes, which looked good, but I was holding out for the ice cream flight ($9.50), which I had seen in pictures on Yelp. It was worth the wait ... I ordered the BOCO (Blood Orange Coconut sorbet), boozy Dirty Girl Scout, Cookie Monster, and vegan PB&J (they have vegan options!). Our waitress accidentally brought me Grasshopper ice cream instead of BOCO, but ironically, that was the flavor I ended up liking the best. In order of favorite to least: Grasshopper - minty and refreshing and delicious Vegan PB&J - they make it with almond milk and I put it on par with Love's, in Grand Rapids (who uses coconut milk), which is a high compliment from me. Cookie Monster - standard but very good. Dirty Girl Scout - just okay, I was hoping it'd be a bit better. BOCO - tasted like I was eating perfume, but that might have been because I ate it after all the other flavors ... The only reason Browndog gets 4.5/5 from me instead of 5/5 is that our server would disappear for a while ... we had an extra water glass at our table so I stole that to replenish my water supply. Later on she did come by and ask if anyone wanted refills, though. When you cash out, you do it on a tablet, which is very convenient if you are paying with a credit card, also - you select your tip amount on it (and the waitress discreetly looked away while I did it, too). Also, when I originally looked up the menu for Browndog, I wanted to order everything on it - that's because I was looking at the lunch/dinner menu, so I'll have to come back for that. Their brunch menu, however, is super unique too, and friends ordered everything from a croque madame (topped with an egg AND maple syrup) to chicken & waffles - in a waffle cone - to steak and egg breakfast tacos. I'll definitely be coming back here at some point but hopefully for lunch or dinner, so that I can try that menu.

So impressed with this little spot! My go to favorite brunch spot across the street was closed for maintenance, so I'm so glad we found this place! Even though it's small an busy we got a table right away. Bottomless (5) mimosas for $17, you got to pick the juice: orange, Apple cider, grapefruit or with a splash of cranberry. Our food was unbeliever tasty!! I honestly cannot wait to go back for more soon! Service was perfect as well! I'm honestly just happy that they're open Sunday AND Saturday for brunch, unlike a lot of places in our area!

Came for a late lunch/early dinner on one of the first beautiful Saturdays of the patio season. They were slammed quickly with one waitress and maybe 2 people cooking, so service was pretty slow, but she comped a beer and was very apologetic, so no worries! We weren't in a rush. They have great beers, yummy milkshakes, delicious food. They specialize in salty/sweet combos and they're really fun and yummy. We had the cauliflower risotto which I can't wait to attempt at home. It was creamy with a parmesan crisp; would have gone great with toast points or something, but just comes alone. Mom ordered the Asian fried chicken salad which was fresh with homemade cornflake crusted chicken bites. Hubby ordered the waffle cone chicken which had the same chicken bites tossed in this heavenly maple butter sauce with strawberries in a homemade waffle cone with fresh cut fries like you get at a carnival. Yum! I had the chicken nachos which were excellent. The cheese and guac sauces were so savory and creamy. I'm already looking forward to next time. I may need to take one of their seasonal ice creams home!

We initially came downtown to grab dinner at another spot around 6:00 pm. They were slammed and no one even was able to greet us in a few minutes, so we decided to go elsewhere as we had our little one with us. Second place we went, we were put on a 20 minute wait. We kind of knew to expect this attempting to go downtown Farmington right at dinner time, so we kept our fingers crossed, and walked into Browndog figuring they would for SURE not had a table for us as we've always had such a great experience here. Lucky for us, we were able to be sat right away! We got the Brussels hash for an appetizer, and as always it was INCREDIBLE. Service was incredibly fast, and our server was really attentive. Our food was not far behind our app, and everything was so delicious! The decor in here is great as well. We love going here! Can't wait to be back. I can't recommend the brussels as an app, AND the brunch option enough.

Lansing shuffle location is amazing! The staff is so kind and friendly...Every time I go I order the cherry flavor. Such an amazing ice cream spot that truly cares about their customers. Thank you for being awesome and caring about your customers. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were in the area after a different establishment quoted us an hour wait so we popped into Browndog. While they were busy, there was a couple seats at the bar so we took a seat and were promptly greeted and given ice waters. We ordered two beers to start, and while the girls behind the bar were busy, they didn't hesitate to give us samples or answer any questions. We put in our orders for a beer chz burger and a bacon Brie burger. We nursed our beers and could clearly see the kitchen was busy so we expected a little wait. Our food came out nice and hot and looked so good! My husband isn't a huge burger lover but inhaled his burger in a few bites. He was so happy with the bacon Brie burger, the jam and bacon compliment each other so well. I LOVED the pretzel bun on the beer chz burger - I said over and over it's the best pretzel bun I ever had. So soft and salty (and even stayed soft eating my leftovers the next day) The fries: the house fries are my new favorites. Perfectly salty and crispy. My husband upgraded to the browndog fries and they were doused in dark chocolate. we were so curious and ended up really loving them. We will definitely be returning for the ice cream and boozy shakes next time to pair with the burgers!! So happy we stumbled upon this place in Downtown Farmington.

I was going to wait to post this review till I left town ( visiting home for the first time in 4.5 years ). I plan to go back and hate waiting lol. Love brunch & morning drinks, and we were waiting a hour + for the brunch spot across the street. We were hungry, and really wanted a mimosa. Started looking at Yelp, and noticed someone said they stumbled upon this place, and was a hidden gem. I completely agree! I got a mimosa with pineapple juice and orange juice mixed. But they have other mimosas, boozie ice cream, and more. We had the breakfast tacos and breakfast burger. Both SUPER good!! The fries were super good as well, and we are very picky with our fries. Perfect salt and pepper ratio on them.

Cinnamon roll bread pudding a la mode for the table

Our fam had brunch here on Easter Sunday, which was their regular brunch menu. (Smart since it's so fab already!). We were looking for a brunch place with outside-the-box options but also relaxed/cool/casual and this is it. 2 breakfast poutines (eggs and sausage gravy over fries), 2 brussel hash (brussel sprout and potato hash with an over easy egg), cinnamon roll bread pudding for the table and a few shakes. (Mocha Madness was my dad's favorite). Everything was good and I thought very reasonably priced for the high quality. The best part was really the service. We had a multi generational table happening and she was very patient. Two orders off the menu and she didn't blink.. Shirley Temple drink for the kid and my dad orders the same scrambled eggs everywhere he goes.. even when there are so many eclectic options.. and he tends to talk too.. but she was making and refilling things the whole time without us ever noticing we needed it yet. Told my husband to leave her 25%. We'd come back just for the service. But also coming back to try Happy Hour!

I was on one of my frequent business trips to the Farmington Hills area and found Browndog using Yelp. It seemed interesting as well as good, so i went for it. It's a nice find! I had an "Awesome Mule" from the happy hour menu. Great tasting and a lot of kick for $6. Then, had the Caesar salad with bacon from the HH menu, too. Excellent and a different presentation in that it is a romaine heart cut longitudinally in half with the goodies dressed on it. It's sort of like a wedge salad in spirit. Very good! The next thing was good in a way, but not what i was expecting. I ordered truffle fries, not realizing their truffle fries are dressed with melted Chocolate truffles instead of the subterranean fungus. Oops. Well prepared, but not what I was looking for. Then, I went for the HH ice cream cake. Wonderful local ice cream on top of a chocolate fudge cake. Salted caramel sauce goes on top of the butter cream icing. It's a big piece that I could not finish, but not for lack of trying or wanting to! Really excellent and make sure you scrape up all the caramel. Service was very good as well. I sat outside on one of their street side tables in perfect May weather. All goes together nicely!

Came here with the best team to have a work meeting, it turned out to be a neat experience. Their happy hour is legit! It's Tuesday-Friday 3pm - 6pm and Wednesdays it's all day long. One hand, the corn was meh. The nachos on the other, was good. But the truffle fries on the other other hand (we have three hands), were very gooood. They also have $4 draft beers and other cheap drinks to get. Tried the Browndog burger on their main menu, it was decent. I'll definitely have to come back solely for the happy hour during the week. Might even stop by for their Taco Tuesday specials.

All I have to say is we went there while waiting for some food from another spot In downtown Farmington and I'm disappointed that we didn't just go there first.. food, drinks and ice cream.... WHAT!!! And crazy favored ice cream. I'm going back for the fill experience. But I did get some Cookie Monster ice cream!!!!!

Well, because our congregation had a small list of approved caterers, and my daughter wanted one thing for the big celebration: a chocolate fountain. As luck would have it, The Moveable Feast has a chocolate fountain front and center on its website, so they were the obvious choice. The only other thing the Bat Mitzvah Girl wanted was bagels and cream cheese, which is her favorite food and pretty much impossible to mess up. Especially when the caterer agrees to source the bagels from Zingerman's Bakehouse. But one needs more for a luncheon than just bagels, cream cheese, and a chocolate fountain. That is where Misty Rose entered the picture. She got what we were going for and helped to round out the rest of the menu. I was told we had to get the whitefish as it was a signature dish of the company, and that was a great call. The pastrami spiced smoked salmon was tasty too. Having grilled vegetables was a fantastic idea as well. If I were to have TMF cater another event I might skip the red pepper hummus, the beet and quinoa salad, and the frittata. I make all of these things at home on the regular, and not to brag, but mine are better. However, those each served a role in the buffet, which on the whole was well received. Where The Moveable Feast shined brightest was its staff. They were extraordinary! Misty for both her flexibility and her patience in dealing with a father who was planning an event at the earliest stages of Omicron. Misty also directed me to A1 Rentals and helped to come up with several floor plans to make a 20' x 40' tent feel like a celebratory space. Plus the event staff were simply heroic, setting up the tent while I was at the ceremony and having everything ready by the time our guests arrived. Everyone who braved traveling to Michigan in December amidst a growing pandemic had a great time. The bartender roaming around pushing mimosas certainly helped. As did the tent heaters, which TMF helped to get back online when one wasn't working. They called up the rental company and made sure A1 brought over a new one. Plus the TMF crew even helped to spread out some straw when the lawn got sloppy thanks to the unexpected ice storm. If you've read down this far, you might be asking yourself, "So why only four stars?" Well, if you recall, the critical components of this event were a chocolate fountain, bagels, and cream cheese. The chocolate fountain was everything the guest of honor had hoped for... and maybe more. But somehow, the caterer forgot to bring the cream cheese. And a bagel without cream cheese is like a hug without the squeeze. I know that's not actually how the line goes. Still... it's close. My personal belief is that a business is best defined by what happens when something goes wrong. In this case, their first offer was to simply not charge me for the food they didn't bring. That was not terribly satisfying. Ultimately, the resolution was a sum that was roughly equivalent to the mimosas which helped make our adult guests happy despite the omission. I appreciated the gesture, but would have preferred an outcome that did not feel as transactional. You know, like a tray of sweets, or an "I'm sorry" cake. I know I'm weird about this, but money feels kinda dirty. Although at some point it's best to just take the offer and move on. Which is exactly what I did. Would I work with The Moveable Feast again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to anyone who asks? You bet. Would they work with me again? I certainly hope so. We had a tremendous amount of leftovers, which included a few pounds of smoked salmon and multiple pints of whitefish. We were even able to salvage some of the ambrosial nectar from the chocolate fountain. More importantly, thanks to TMF we were able to pull off a successful event in the face of some abysmal conditions. I mean... on top of everything a last minute ice storm? And despite being down a person, they did it all with a smile. Bravo!

The servers did a great job helping set up everything, but this event left all the guests hungry. They actually went home and ordered pizza. I am still trying to untangle what the heck cost $4,656.13 for 25 guests. We did have flowers and tables clothes but my goodness. First time I used them they did sandwiches which were full sandwiches, I had no reason to believe that this was going to cost more money and that a cocktail sandwich for lunch did not mean a full sandwich but the finest of sandwiches I have ever seen. They were also supposed to have brie on one of the sandwichs and it had absolutely no Brie! There food signs were bigger than the sandwiches. I will never ever hire them again. Buyer beware with this group. I see all of these posts that say they did a great job and I am wondering, did they run out of time for our event - what the heck happened? Just don't do it. I was beyond disappointed.
