The procedure stations are bright, welcoming, and spotlessly clean, as is the reception area. The young assistant today worked hard to help ease my anxiety before my extraction and 2 fillings. It was obvious to me that she was trying hard to be fast as well as careful as she set up tools and equipment and chatted with me. Afterwards, Dr. Fishman had an adjustment to make in her routine that will save time and effort in the future. Before my retirement I had occasion to observe many "busy professionals" criticize assistants. I was so impressed how, in the most gentle, polite yet serious and non-intimidating manner Dr. Fishman accomplished this, that I felt compelled to mention it here. A boss who treats colleagues and staff well is the reason why everything in this dental practice is what it is. Bravo Brilliant Smiles of Maryland! Bravo Dr. Fishman! Last but certainly not least, Dr. Fishman checked often that I was all right, and his skill was as high on the painless scale as medically possible.

When you get there, they always seem not to be expecting you. Then once they get started, it seems they are rushing to do 5 things at once. Like how can I make the next appointment while your hands are still in my mouth, and the assistant is handing me the spit cup? Why don't you already know what I had done last time? I can tell you but not while there are 4 hands and all kinds of tools in my mouth, and someone handing me things. Slow down and understand that patients are not pros at this. We get dental work done once in a while and it's kind of difficult for us. We shouldn't be asked to multitask while under duress and while paying top dollar, just so you don't have to spend one extra minute with us. I'd cancel my next appointment but I bought a membership on the strength of the first visit (prompt response to a painful need) so I'm just stuck I guess. If you're ok with a bit of chaos and little roughness, she's very good. If not, go elsewhere.

I had previously been taken care of Dr. George Shepley for 30 yrs. receiving excellent gentle care. The last time I went to see Dr. Block, it was a back wisdom tooth that she said needed a filling. She jabbed the needle in to numb it causing extreme pain, I screamed but she could care less how she was hurting me and it was very obvious. She has no compassion about her patients feelings. I don't understand how she is still in practice. The staff is very kind and accommodating. Danielle, office manager introduced me to Dr. Ringgold who came highly recommended .

Unfortunately, the front office staff lack professionalism and Alicia is filled with arrogance. My husband and I attended our appointment earlier this week. During checkout, we were presented with a treatment plan and told a deposit was required. As I began the process of payment, the staff member noticed that I had an FSA account, and her demeanor immediately changed. We were then told that no deposit was needed, and my husband was quickly scheduled for the next day. I am uncomfortable with policies that seem to shift based on the presence of funds rather than clear, consistent standards. It left me feeling uneasy, however, we both said... let's see. The following day, my husband received an itemized document showing both a "previous balance" and a "current balance". I reached out via email for clarification. Instead of receiving a written response, I was called within minutes and urged to simply submit the document to my FSA. I was told by Alicia Carrasquillo that I had no balance and should "submit it and if it is rejected then they will make adjustments". I pushed back, requesting written confirmation reflecting a zero balance for my records, her tone changed, and I was told that no such documentation would be provided to me. I am not comfortable being pressured into submitting financial documents that do not clearly align with what I am being told. I don't know you, Alicia. Due to your arrogance, I certainly don't trust you. Transparency and documentation are basic expectations when it comes to financial matters. The next day (today), my children's appointments were canceled. We are honesty grateful, as this experience raised significant concerns. As patients, we are growing increasingly weary of poor business practices, upselling, and behavior that lacks transparency. I have avoided the dentist for years due to terrible business practices and lack of integrity. It is disappointing to see that integrity and professionalism are not consistently upheld in such an important field. I still believe that there are good dental practices and we have no problem doing the hard work until to find our home with a practice that prioritizes transparency and integrity.

Ringgold may have a pretty face, but she sure do have a ugly heart and hearts never lie. She came across has cold, dismissive, really didn't want to hear your concerns, issues, lack of compassionate, empathy, at all towards me. Now, I have a damage and trauma done to my teeth due to domestic violence and always felt self-conscious about my smile, teeth. This office brought back up emotions and feelings that I had buried away for so long, wow trauma came. The entire office staff came across has an ANGRY BLACK WOMAN syndrome, especially this Kayla person, she was rude and dismissive, not fit to be working in a receptionist area at all, or is this the new normal when working with these youngin's. Ringgold pass me off to the owner Rief, she is definitely running a cockamamie practice, she only cares about money, not her patients, and especially if you are a person of color. I knew I had a balance, and was paying it the day I received the rest of my treatment. Well Rief, came never greeted to say hello, hi, kiss my ass, nothing. She stated to me "you know you have a balance", like no shit sherlock, right then this told me a lot about her integrity, her character etc., I couldn't wait to get out of that office was so disappointed in her and the entire office. My hygienist Colleen was good (she was the only one),in this entire office that was professional. If you are a person of color don't give Rief your money, she doesn't care. My experience with them wasn't good at all. I will recommend though you try Owings Mills Dental Partner, with Dr. Bethea and Dr. Anguiln, they are great, exceptional will listen to you concerns and really care about their patients, professional and will treat you like you matter. One last thing you reap what you sow, and Rief better be careful how she treats people or she will end up the same FATE! as her dad.

Dental Treatment Experience and Ongoing Resolution Request…read moreDental Treatment Timeline and Issues In 2023, I started my journey to receive dentures. After having my teeth extracted at the Owings Mills office, I immediately began the prescribed dental treatment. In the initial phase, the office fulfilled its commitments. I attended several appointments for necessary adjustments and was diligently making payments through a loan option. However, after approximately three or four months, I encountered difficulties with the loan system, which would no longer allow me to make payments. Subsequently, I received a refund of all the payments I had made. At the time, I assumed that my insurance had covered the costs, as it was now 2024. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, I was unable to reach anyone at the office over the phone. On the rare occasions when I did get through, staff tried to connect me to the Office Manager, but I was never able to speak with them directly. This lack of communication persisted for four to six months, during which I sought answers regarding the loan, my dentures, and the next steps for my bottom teeth. Communication and Office Changes Eventually, after repeated efforts, I managed to speak with someone at the office who suggested I come in person due to how busy they were. Upon visiting, I learned the office had been experiencing significant personnel changes and that a new Office Manager, Kyle, had joined. Kyle apologized for the previous issues, and together we proceeded to plan for my bottom dentures. When I inquired about payments, I was consistently told, "Don't worry, just come and get everything completed, we will take care of it." Trusting their assurances, I continued with treatment for my bottom dentures. Continued Treatment and Further Complications After several months, I underwent extractions and received new dentures. During this period, I wore temporary dentures and faced ongoing challenges in reaching the office to finalize the process for my permanent bottom dentures. Eventually, in early February 2025, I secured an appointment to complete this stage of treatment. During the visit, I met with Kyle once more and was again told not to worry, that everything would be resolved. Later, when I scheduled another appointment for an adjustment, I mentioned my upcoming move due to a job transfer. I spoke with both Dr. Nelson and Kyle, who held a meeting to discuss my account. Upon asking about any remaining payments or requirements, Kyle assured me, "Do not worry about it. It has taken care of. I have some things to do on the back end, but it is all done." I expressed my appreciation and left the office. Post-Move Challenges and Financial Concerns After relocating to Florida, I sought an adjustment for my dentures at a new office. I was informed that I still had an outstanding balance of approximately $6,000 and that further assistance was contingent on settling this amount. I reached out to the Owings Mills office, but again received no response from staff or Kyle, even after sending an email. Following my email, I received a bill from my insurance company showing some payment had been made toward the balance, yet there was still no direct response from the office. I then contacted the Crestview office in Florida for assistance. The staff there were helpful and facilitated communication with the Owings Mills office. The new manager at Owings Mills informed me that she was investigating the situation with her supervisor. Later, I was told I would need to reinstate the loan for $2,500 to resolve the issue, which was unexpected. The Crestview office advised me to contact the loan office, but I was told loans could not be processed without an invoice for treatment. Request for Resolution At this stage, I am extremely frustrated. I have consistently attempted to pay for my treatment and have only followed the guidance provided by the Owings Mills Office Manager, Kyle, who assured me that all financial matters would be taken care of due to the lack of professionalism and service I experienced. My request is not for free treatment; I simply want the situation resolved as promised so I can move forward. I ask that the office honor the commitment made by their Office Manager and provide a resolution, allowing me to continue my dental care without further complications. I am asking that you follow through and remove this balance from my account as I was told by your manager at the location. I look forward to your response.

I'm going back to get my X-ray for the new doctor because it is going to cost me $180.00 for new ones. This is extortion. I'm getting my teeth pulled out and I'm not taking this guys advice because he just wants money from my insurance company and I told them that I am filing an appeal against his office for doing this because he didn't even want to give me any more pain medication after I told him that I was still in pain. This is appalling for any medical professional to believe this nonsense. I look African American but what they didn't know is that my grandfather is from Kerala India!
