Oil prices are slightly higher than all the other oil companies. Wouldn't matter if this were a great company. Like the other reviews, there's been a drop in service since Mirabito bought out Brown. And to add insult to injury, calling Mirabito is one of the most unpleasant experiences. Long boring phone message that is an endless loop of advertising. With boring, self-serving "history" of Mirabito as a treat. Can't make an good message, than just leave silence! Repairs are not done right the first time and service has to make another visit. We bought our house just over a year ago and decided to stay with the oil company the previous owners used. Since the small business was bought by Mirabito a few months ago, the quality of customer service has taken a significant decline. -oil delivery slips are missing the price per gallon -discount for automatic pay was reduced with no notification -services are billed without the customer receiving a bill -getting a call back from the service department to schedule requires multiple calls to the office. After this heating season my husband and I will be looking for a new oil company if the service doesn't improve. read more

Since Mirabito took over, service is worse. Calls unanswered or not returned. Service reps who are indifferent to customer's problems. Mirabito's fault. Ran out of oil on a Sunday at 3 AM while on automatic delivery. Tech came, put in 10 gallons and got the burner going. Great. Monday morning came and no delivery. Ran out of fuel again. Had to wait 6 hours for heat and hot water. Considering Mirabito was responsible for the problem, not only didn't they go out of their way to speed things along, but they didn't show up until I had left messages with several corporate officers (only 1 of whom returned my call). Unfortunately, none of the companies in Pittsfield area offer good service. There's been a lot of consolidation leaving fewer choices. But since none are good, it doens't really matter, does it? read more

I was a very satisfied customer of Cesco from the mid-seventies, then of Brown Oil, which also provided excellent service. Since the advent of Mirabito, we have had a series of problems -- not having our automatic payment withdrawn being the most frequent one. We are supposed to have automatic delivery, but today we discovered that our tank is almost empty. Trying to reach someone in Dalton, I waited five minutes on hold, listened to over twelve rings, and ended up in a second automated system -- at Corporate Headquarters. So I started all over. We have always liked dealing with the management, the folks in the office, and those who service our oil burner and deliver the oil. But after forty years of being loyal customers, the amount of time it takes us to get what we signed up for is discouraging, and we're losing patience. read more

We used Brown Oil for a few years and they were fine but since being taken over by Marabito it is a nightmare. We have been waiting more than a week for a delivery (three promised delivery days skipped- no call or explanation) and are now out of oil. Their customer service were 'less than helpful' to say the least. Positively negligent given how cold the weather is now. We are scrambling to find a new vendor who will be able to deliver immediately. Avoid these folks or you may end up cold and needing to drain the water from the house to avoid frozen pipes. read more
