I brought my car here repeatedly for a clear, documented issue: consistent, excessive oil loss. Instead of a professional diagnosis, this dealership used a "process of elimination" strategy at my expense. They threw every possible "fix" at the car just to see what would stick, charging me and after having to bring it back after their ' repairs' they finally "discovered" the truth: the entire engine needed to be replaced. I eventually sent a formal demand letter requesting a refund for the services that failed to fix the issue, but true to their character, they completely ignored me. No follow-up, no accountability, and zero customer service. They are happy to take your money for "fixes" they know won't work, but they won't stand by their work when it fails. take your Subaru literally anywhere else. read more

Very straightforward and easy to deal with, my wife and I walked in on a Friday night and said "we are here to buy a car." With a general idea of what we wanted, we proceeded to quickly compare a few models and learned the associated trims. We decided on a 2023 Ascent Onyx Limited that had low miles as it was a demo/corporate car. As a brief aside our particular sales rep, David, really didn't know what he was selling. I was putting $25k cash down and wanted to apply for financing for the remaining $20k. I asked what the average interest rates were and if I should include a co - signer. After a few rounds of them dodging the question they muttered that the rates were 5 - 7%. We left the dealership excited with the find and then filled out the finance app online. Good news! I was approved for financing the next morning. "What's the interest rate," I asked? "Oh, Tim has that. Come down and we will get started." I go down to the dealership and after 20 minutes of papers about the price etc (already telling me what I know) I ask again. "What is the interest rate?" "Oh, Tim has that." This is where the real entertainment starts, lol. Like Tim has all the big secrets... David sheepishly goes over to the BIG DESK with Tim, lol. I'm sorry... the comedy is just too much. "Maybe you wanted to build credit." My goal? My goal was to buy a car, as stated on Friday night. "I'm not trying to convince you not to get a co - signer." "We didn't even run your credit." "Maybe at best you'll gain 5 percent." Which would put one at 8% with good credit, a substantial amount of money down and a co - signer with tier 1 credit? What happened to the average of 5 - 7% I ask you? In any event, I left the dealership and woke to texts, emails, phone calls, smoke signals, messages by pigeon. They were getting real jumpy down at Haddad motor group. I said I was going to pass, knowing interest rates were high per Tim, and my co - signer was now back in Boston for the week. I was not interested in paying more than 5%. Miraculously I needed to call ASAP, they can get me 4.99%. I called David and was told they could do 4.99% over 63 months for that car. A week later dealership reached back out. Said they'd give me what I wanted for my trade-- sent me what they had on the lot (which included car they said had sold now with a higher price). Then was told the trade offer was only for "end of the month" and I would have had to come in that day. I work and live an hour away. Nobody communicated this trade offer to me regardless. When I asked about the car that supposedly sold last week which was still listed was told "it sold" yesterday. Bottom line. They lie and can't get their story straight. Just save yourself the time and hassle. Go to Albany area where the market is better. Also, make sure they will work with your bank. I had a great experience buying my car at Haddad Subaru. It was a much more pleasant personal experience than the other dealerships I have visited recently. Tim Durrin was a great salesperson to work with, and the team helped me to get a vehicle without having to make several trips out, as I live 1.5 hours away. I was able to call Tim before I made the drive out to see if the car I wanted was still there and he personally went out and laid eyes on it for me and had it ready to go when I arrived. Everyone was very nice and great to work with. The only reason for 4 stars is that the car was a bit dirty inside when I picked it up after I was told it would be detailed. There were a couple stains, crumbs in the center console, and a dirty windshield, and the cover for the fuse panel was broken off with the pieces still in the center console. Very disappointed with the service at Haddad in Pittsfield, MA. This is not our first Subaru. We traded in the one we loved for 11 years for a Forester at Haddad. Now only 5 years old we were told we had to replace the TPMS board due to a leak on the roof rack - shut down the TPM system and key fob and tire pressure light were on all the time. We agreed to fix it despite not being something we did to the car. Not under warranty. Now, 15 months later the same problem happens. Took it back to Haddad because they had it fixed last year and sealed the roof rack so it wouldn't happen again. Well it did happen, and now they won't fix it unless we pay to get it done because they do not guarantee anything after 12 months. In 15 months we put 22K miles on it. But their response at the service department is that we should call Subaru America. Their hands are tied and they do not cover their own work done 15 months ago. I put in a claim with Subaru America and waiting for a resolution. It's very disappointing to know that the sealant they used is not guaranteed, and it is on us to fix it over and over again as it happens, without even using the roof rack. It is a $1600 quote I received from them to get it done. read more

Went in for a new Outback... came to the right place. Tim was amazing. Super informative and professional. He went out of his way, despite there being very few available cars. And... I mean... this guy even LOOKS like a Subaru! This will be our 5th Subaru, and by far the best buying experience so far. Also... side note: My wife and I aren't really car people. We have two cars, one nicer one for trips/work (a Subaru) and the other one, an old Pontiac Vibe, to just run errands and haul stuff. I mention this because I went car shopping at several places while driving my Vibe and discovered, very quickly, that when you roll up to most dealerships in an old junky car the sales team assumes you are some broke clown and wants nothing to do with you. At several places no one would even show me a car! Flash forward to Haddad. I showed up and Tim treated me wonderfully. Let me start with the good. They had the car I had wanted at a price I liked. The salesman Dave was very good. He was friendly and didn't try too hard to pressure me into extras of into financing with one of their preferred lenders. Overall I got the car quickly and had a pleasant experience. Now let's talk about the negatives. First of all I bought the car in Massachusetts but I live in NY. The dealership calculated taxes on the title and registration as if it was as a Mass transaction. This caused an $11 discrepancy between what they had estimated and what was actually charged. They told me I had to pay that. Despite the fact that it was their error and I had just given them $21,000. They couldn't take the $11 hit apparently and cover it themselves. Secondly communication during the days I was waiting for the car to be registered so I could pick it up was sparse. I had to call them repeatedly for updates despite many assurances they would call me back. They even had a guy text me telling me he was going to keep me updated then I never heard another thing from him. Finally they gave me my car with only a half tank of gas in it. Every car I've ever purchased has had a full tank of gas when I received it. I emailed one of their managers with these concerns a couple of weeks ago and have received no response. I will probably not buy another vehicle from them. read more

I had three different experiences and I think all are important to share. The first was the buying experience. Wow, I was so impressed how they rolled out the red carpet for my daughter and I to test drive a little red beetle bug that had been traded in by someone else. They were so nice and even let my daughter take it home for the weekend. We returned on that following Monday and purchased the car. Now for the second experience. When my daughter picked up her car there was a rejection sticker on it and they said that is common because the battery was unplugged so the car needed to reset itself. They told my daughter to drive it around for about 50 miles and then she could go and get it inspected. This was a surprise to me because when they sent an email letting me know the car was ready, they never mentioned that there was a rejection sticker and only told my 17 year old daughter. She was very very upset. They also didn't fixt he floppy molding on the door which we asked them to do when we purchased the car. I called them immediately and said we weren't happy about this and they said it is common to have to do this with a used car but they will come get the car (we live 30 min from the dealee) after we drove it for a bit and they would get it reinspected for us. I very much appreciated that and agreed. A few hours after speaking with them, and after my daughter drove around for a while, the check engine light actually came on which meant there was actually something a little bit more wrong with the car, so I called the dealership again. I spoke with the manager and he was very kind and said they would take care of anything that was wrong. Now for the third experience. They were really amazing with solving the issue and wanting to make it right. They came to us and got the car, fixed whatever was wrong with it, and then brought it back to us. Again, I want to add that we live about a half an hour away from the dealership so having them pick up the car and then return it was so important. They also left us a loaner which was great. So, other than a couple of hiccups, we are so far mostly happy with everything. read more

Drove from Vermont to get this car. When we test drove it, it was very dirty. After buying it we asked them to detail it fully. Just to get the smell and stains and all the chocolate out of everything. They said they "deep cleaned it." So I took it home. In the am I looked at and there still was kid toys under the back seat, starbucks, french fries, rotten milk and maggot shells. Usually when I buy a car its fully detailed but this is awful. I ended up cleaning it myself. Chocolate and whatever else finally is off my E break and center conical. This was the worst detail I've ever seen. You guys are just lazy. Never would I recommend getting a car from here. The comment I got from the dealer when I made a comment of how dirty it was "the car is a 2013 with 120,000 its been used. I went in for an oil change that I scheduled at 11:00 and indicated I would be waiting upon making the appointment. It took nearly an hour and a half to complete the oil change. To top it off, they tried to sell me a lot of unnecessary extras in the amount of $1,600. I asked if any of it was needed right away as I need to get my car inspected this month and was told that nothing would prevent me from passing inspection. They then proceeded to tell me that I would need new tires by summer. I communicated to them that I had tire insurance I had purchased through them and I should be covered and was told it would not in fact be covered. The salesperson TOTALLY misrepresented this information to me when I signed up for the insurance. I was directed to speak to the manager. He was extremely rude and unwilling to listen. He basically accused me of lying and said his staff would NEVER misrepresent anything and that was NOT what I would have been told. He then proceeded to be condescending and told me to "read my paperwork closer" and to just think about why passing such a small amount a month would get me replacement tires. I will NEVER return to have my car serviced here unless it's for a warranty repair. Haddad has always been a terrible company! It's a shame they have such a monopoly in this area. The utter ineptitude of the entire service department here is nothing short of staggering. What started out as a simple oil change has led to 5 visits back to correct their mistakes. Even now, we are taking our car elsewhere to be fixed, as they couldn't get the most basic items right. We went for our first oil change on our brand new outback on a Saturday. The scheduling and efficiency of the department were great. That's where it ends. By the following Saturday, we had our car towed (which we paid for) back to Haddad as they DIDN'T REPLACE THE OIL CAP. Oil was all over our entire engine block, battery, tubes, electrical, belts, etc. Oil changing 101, always replace the cap. It was literally still sitting next to the oil tank one week in. Here is where it gets even better! I know, it's hard to imagine it getting worse. We were given a rental to drive around as their response was not only to not apologize, but also to say "We may get around to it Monday. We'll give you a call." It was Saturday. The rental got a flat one day in and we brought it back to be looked at. Their response: Our service dept. is closed, just take it to a gas station and fill it up. (Thanks Brandon!) By Monday we didn't receive a call. We called first thing Tuesday and they said it was ready. We go to pick it up, and there is still oil pooled under the battery and on other areas. "Oh man, I cleaned this last night and didn't see it." No, you didn't want to have to remove the battery and give it a proper cleaning. They call us two hours later and say it's ready. When we pick it up, we get 4 blocks and realize the windows don't roll down. We take it back. "Oh yeah, that sometimes happens when you disconnect the battery." Do you think... just maybe...if it's a known side effect, it should be built into the troubleshooting of repairs so you don't look like an idiot when it happens and you get caught for half assing a half assed repair job? Anyways, it's been one day since we got our car back, and we realized they didn't top off the oil from the original oil change that spilled all over our engine block. We are taking our car elsewhere and are cringing to find out where else they destroyed a new car with only 6k miles. To be fair, they offered us a free oil change and we got a written apology from the manager only after demanding one. We politely declined the oil change and accepted a car detailing which we promptly threw in the garbage. Don't go here. I cannot emphasize this enough. From start to finish, this has been incredibly stressful and the lack of any sort of ownership of their screw up was insulting. This should not be a licensed Subaru dealership. They should not be allowed to touch, much less work on cars. read more

Hands down the worst service I've ever had. They could not do a simple oil change; they left the cap off. I was not offered an apology until I asked for one. It was a comedy of errors from start to finish. The kicker was, they gave me the car after "cleaning" the engine compartment a quart of oil low and a quarter of a tank less of fuel (that, after demanding I return the loaner car -- WHICH HAD A LEAKY TIRE -- be returned with a full tank). If they can't do an oil change, how can you trust them to: - Perform a recall repair correctly? - Perform a 60,000 mile service? - Maintain the vehicles that they sell? An awful experience. They charged me for an undercoat that they forgot to apply to the car. They did not clean the car. They tried to charge me extra for cross bars which were included with the car. The worst part is that they had 3 WEEKS to do these things while waiting for out-of-state registration to be approved. They had plenty of time to do these tasks that I paid for. When I purchased my vehicle, I was pre-approved for a loan at my bank, with a great interest rate since I have great credit.I made this very clear, that I would be using MyCom bank, several times, hoping to avoid any unnecessary sales pitch or whatever. To my surprise, i was told I could take the Car home today! Even though I didn't have my bank check yet! I got sent to the finance guy to sign paperwork, warranty, etc. husband left to go to work. I was there alone for about 1/2 hour finishing up, and when I get home I noticed that those shady creeps ignored my bank choice and gave me a loan with Wells Fargo Bank- the bank they work with instead!!!!!! My wife and I were thinking about getting a Subaru for about a year. I saw Subaru running a 0% APR promotion so I started looking casually this past week. We had some errands to run and decided to stop by this dealership to see a couple of models. As expected, within a moment of parking in the "customer parking" area a young man came out to greet us. He showed us a couple models and let us take them for a ride. We liked the car, and a conversation ensued about our interest. Within two hours of pulling into the lot we had a purchase deal completed, including them accepting one of our vehicles for a trade based on two cruddy photos we conjured up from social media posts and my word on its condition ( We didn't have the car with us, as we did not expect to be making a deal today). The price for purchase was fair, and the trade in offer was fair. I have purchased so many cars over the years, new and used, and this time around I didn't have any second thoughts about the deal or the vehicle. I didn't even feel the need to go home and shower after sitting with the finance guy, even though he did that thing where they offer all the different extended warranty and carpet/wheel protection, etc. These guys did the deal quickly and were direct and easy to work with. One other thing I noticed, we were the youngest customers in the place. I felt assured that the collective wisdom of all these septuagenarians meant I was in the right place. read more

We get good service. The mechanic sends a text message so you can ask questions during their work and they can communicate with you. That's a plus. I am a woman in my 20s, who drove back to Pittsfield, my hometown, from Boston because was in the market to purchase a Subaru and wanted to spend my money in the Berkshires. Took a test drive of a few Subarus, and this was all fine, and I learned a lot from the salesman. Started negotiating the price, with the help of my Dad, who has worked around cars for 35+ years, who came with me. The sales team would not budge on the price of 28k for a 2021 model of a car which had visible scratches on the back bumper, when the 2023 new was 3k more. They also only offered 1k for my car that runs well, has new wheels and battery and is up on all of its maintenance. We told them we wanted to get down to 25k. They tried to trick us into thinking they lowered the price by counting 3k that I offered to put down in cash as "lowering the price." They made it sound like they were "doing us a favor" by taking my car with "all that it has wrong with it" - direct quote. They said they didn't see that there was maintenance done on it, when the sticker was in the window. They also messed with my car radio when inspecting it, and it didn't connect to FM radio the next day. The absolute worst part was that there was a manager on a pedestal looking over our shoulder and watching our conversation the entire time. I only found this out when I tried to bring up all of the competing prices in the area, and I heard a man's voice laughing behind me as he said "well, that's a different model and it's standard." I get that there's business to be done, but I deserve respect, and this was pretty disconcerting as a woman. Needless to say, we did not make this deal. When I left, the salesman seemed confused, and asked me if he'd been "mean or something." The next day, I ended up driving back to Boston, and when I traded in my car I was offered ** 6500 ** for it, which I thought was a fair price, and I also bought a brand new car of the same model for 24,500, with only 5 miles on it, and all the bells and whistles, with my trade in when I would have been paying 28,000 with my trade in for a 2021 used car with scratches on it (which they avoided talking about when we mentioned it) at Haddad. I worry for all of my friends and family in Pittsfield that they won't see through the tactics that this dealership uses to make money off of the customer and how they really do a convincing job of making it seem like they're doing you a favor. They're not. I really wanted to "keep my business in the Berkshires" but sadly, for this proud Pittsfield native, I felt forced to take my business elsewhere, and I don't regret that one bit. read more
