Very straightforward and easy to deal with, my wife and I walked in on a Friday night and said "we are here to buy a car." With a general idea of what we wanted, we proceeded to quickly compare a few models and learned the associated trims. We decided on a 2023 Ascent Onyx Limited that had low miles as it was a demo/corporate car. As a brief aside our particular sales rep, David, really didn't know what he was selling. I was putting $25k cash down and wanted to apply for financing for the remaining $20k. I asked what the average interest rates were and if I should include a co - signer. After a few rounds of them dodging the question they muttered that the rates were 5 - 7%. We left the dealership excited with the find and then filled out the finance app online. Good news! I was approved for financing the next morning. "What's the interest rate," I asked? "Oh, Tim has that. Come down and we will get started." I go down to the dealership and after 20 minutes of papers about the price etc (already telling me what I know) I ask again. "What is the interest rate?" "Oh, Tim has that." This is where the real entertainment starts, lol. Like Tim has all the big secrets... David sheepishly goes over to the BIG DESK with Tim, lol. I'm sorry... the comedy is just too much. It's fit for films a la Tin Men, Fargo, Boiler Room (wait, that last one gives them too much credit). I think they were trained at a discount mattress store. Are you ready?... 13% LOL. I told him I'm not paying 13%, and I can have my co - signer jump in the mix if need be. Practically hyperventilating David started in on everything he had: "Well, you are going to pay it off quickly." "This will build your credit." "I didn't know what your goal was?" "Maybe you wanted to build credit." My goal? My goal was to buy a car, as stated on Friday night. "I'm not trying to convince you not to get a co - signer." "We didn't even run your credit." "Maybe at best you'll gain 5 percent." Which would put one at 8% with good credit, a substantial amount of money down and a co - signer with tier 1 credit? What happened to the average of 5 - 7% I ask you? In any event, I left the dealership and woke to texts, emails, phone calls, smoke signals, messages by pigeon. They were getting real jumpy down at Haddad motor group. I said I was going to pass, knowing interest rates were high per Tim, and my co - signer was now back in Boston for the week. I was not interested in paying more than 5%. Miraculously I needed to call ASAP, they can get me 4.99%. I called David and was told they could do 4.99% over 63 months for that car. I was truly hoping for a positive experience, but several errors and miscommunications by the Sales Manager, left me feeling disrespected.

The service department has gone severely downhill. I will no longer be a customer for service and will not buy my next Mazda there. I arrived to the dealership for an oil change on my CX-5 that is a year and a half old and has 35,000 miles for an 8:30am appointment. I was told by the individual checking me in that I was listed as a drop off and that It would be at least 3 hours before my car was ready. I said I was anticipating waiting at the dealership and was not able to get a ride. He told me there was no loaner vehicles available and so I said I would have to cancel the appointment then. He goes into an office and comes back out and suddenly there is a loaner car available to me. They also tell me that my car needs an alignment (of course). I told him that I was not sure if I would be able to bring the loaner vehicle back today due to my schedule and I would bring it back the following morning. He told me that would be okay. He then tells me to go inside to the counter and complete the loaner process with the woman working there. I fill out the forms and she pulls the car around front. I said I will try to bring the loaner car back today but it will likely be tomorrow morning. She says that is not going to work because there are customers that will need the vehicle tomorrow. Do they not communicate with each other? The other employee said it was fine to bring the car back the following morning! This was already going so well so I just decided I would change my schedule and come back to the dealership to get this process over with. It is worth noting I live 45 minutes from the dealer and it is not just a trip to the road. The representative that checked me in called me a couple hours later and told me my car needed numerous things, but importantly a battery. He said the battery failed their diagnostic testing. I was quoted $300 for a battery replacement. I declined as I thought that price was too high. I thought it was odd that my vehicle only a year and a half old with 35,000 miles needed a new battery. I did some research and it turns out battery replacement is covered under my 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty through Mazda. That is odd considering they wanted me to pay $300 dollars to have it replaced. Please use caution because it seems like they are not being faithful to the warranty that comes with the vehicle I leased there. I love my car and will likely be getting another CX-5 in the future but it certainly won't be from Berkshire Mazda. It seems they are up to the antics dealers are famous for. I will be following up with Mazda directly regarding this matter. ****Update**** After filing a complaint with Mazda corporate regarding Berkshire Mazda's actions Berkshire Mazda stated they recharged the battery and it may not need to be replaced. They also stated they wanted to do more testing of the battery. Only after I filed a complaint do they now say they recharged the battery and want to do additional testing. None of that was said to me when the service representative called and stated that my battery required immediate replacement for $311. They are attempting to manipulate the situation. To make things even better I had the battery tested elsewhere and they found no deficiency. Who would have thought a year and a half old battery was not defective?
