I have heard so many different takes on this business. All I have to say is I dropped off my truck to them and within 2 days all of the cosmetics of my truck looked brand new again. Initially posted 5 star review - as below - since having car back, have changed my opinion of Decker's. That said, still very grateful for kindness of the tow drivers, the quick turn around and aesthetically pleasing job. Buttttttttt The brand new set of tires they put on leaked continuously - and only the two on the left side- when I stopped in to have them check they begrudgingly obliged. Two weeks later, after leaving car at airport w drastic deflation, Deckers said they couldn't squeeze me in. Went to another shop - replaced the leaking metal valve stems on both left tires. Why would brand new tires have two kinds of valve stems ? And because vehicle no longer has a lug but key to remove the tires- although Deckers swears they put my lug but key in the drivers side door pocket - had to pay to strip the locked nuts and replace w ones without locks. The same week I got the vehicle back from Deckers check engine light came on, had to leave at my mechanic's shop for two weeks to have EVap system worked on and breaks done. Not that I know anything about welding but according to my mechanic - who I would literally trust w my life- the welding Deckers did was shoty and quality of work just enough to keep car together. "Evidence of cutting corners" everywhere. In hindsight, definitely would have to refute my initial impression of this shop. ----------------------------- read more

I had used Deckers for years. I recently had a dead battery and had the car towed to Deckers. $600 later I had a new battery. Despite being a customer for years I was not allowed to leave the car there for a few days until I came back up to the Berkshires as I was out of town- so for another $100 thy towed the working car to my home. I had just paid $2500 for repairs weeks earlier - including a new alternator. One would think they would check the battery. I went fro a satisfied customer to one who feels totally ripped off and will never do business with them again. Stay away! They are not the place they used to be. read more

This is my first Yelp review, I feel the need to warn people. They were very UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST and RUDE. I brought my car in for a simple side swipe fix. The paint job was awful, there were drips and bubbles. They agreed to repaint it and messed it up again. Someone left a device plugged in under the dash and called me asking for it when I was away overseas. It seemed urgent that they have it, I was away for 10 days, and didn't want to hold up anyone else's car repair, so I had a friend go to my house get extra car keys, drive to the airport and HOUR each way, and then bring it them. They DIDN'T even bother to say THANK YOU. Then when I came back they still hassled me and would not repair the horrible paint job, and still did not Thank me for having my friend get their device. They also charged me twice for labor, and they tried to charge me for replacing a bumper that they didn't replace. I got the money back for the bumper but won't even try for the labor. SO disappointing that this would happen. read more

Wonderful service at a great price! My car engine overheated on a trip to the Berkshires near Decker's Auto Body. I pulled in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday evening, and despite giving him no notice, Bill took a look and immediately figured out what was wrong. He ordered the replacement parts from a nearby town and told me I'd be able to pick my car up the next morning (on Memorial Day weekend!) I validated that the quote he gave me was a fair price, and was impressed by his speed and service. read more

My teenage son had an emergency need for a mechanic recently. He is at school nearby. (I live 150 miles away.) There had been a bad ice storm and the temp was in the single digits. In trying to de-ice his car, he damaged the driver's side door, making it impossible to close. He needed to be able to drive the car home a few hours later. I spoke with Rick, and we came up with the plan to tow the car to Decker's to let it thaw out so that it could be fixed. Because of the ice storm, both of his tow trucks were already out on calls; it was going to take a while to get to my son. About a 1/2 hour later I heard from my son. Rick had come over himself and fixed the problem on the spot! When I called to thank him, he couldn't have been more pleasant. He really saved the day!! read more

This is my first Yelp review, but I feel I should warn others about this company. This company is unprofessional and unethical. The owner of Decker's hung up on me after calling me and addressing me in a very aggressive and intimidating way, stating in a demeaning manner that she "(doesn't) get what (I) don't understand" about her trying to collect extra money from me on a $1,600 bill that I had paid in full over a month ago. When I stated I would look at my bill and talk to the insurance company and call her back, she got even more aggressive and began yelling such that I couldn't participate in the conversation. When I said she was acting unprofessional, she hung up on me. Needless to say, I will not give my business to this company again and I will be reporting them. read more

I've been a customer of Decker's twice over the last 35 years. The last encounter was on June 24, 2016, when my starter died in Great Barrington. I called Decker's for a tow and to have the starter replaced while I went to work. By lunch time, the repair was completed. I collected my truck and went on my way. Eight months later, the new starter failed. I don't fault Decker's for anything except buying the starter from Carberry Autoparts who offer a 90-day warranty (compared to NAPA's 1-year warranty). I wouldn't have a problem going back to Decker's for more work, as long as I could specify where the parts came from. read more

Decker's crew responded immediately to my roadside emergency, arrived in about 10 minutes, in a DOWNPOUR, on a Sunday, and took excellent care of my equipment until I could return for it. Very decent, helpful, reasonable on the charges, etc. Highly recommended. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this review because previous dealing with them were satisfactory. Recently, however, I brought my car in for brake work -- there was a scraping sound coming from one of the brakes -- but otherwise the brakes were working well. Given the age of the car I asked for a careful analysis and estimate for all work required since the car may not be worth the amount needed at this point. After receiving that estimate I authorized the work and a day later paid the bill and drove the car away, only to find that the brakes were not working and fluid was poring out of the lines (which, again, had not been a problem when I dropped the car off). Fortunately, I was able to safely get the car back to the shop immediately. They then wanted an additional amount for this work despite having sent me out with faulty brakes and having missed the problem in their initial diagnosis. Unfortunately -- because it is very convenient to where I live -- I will never use their services again if I have a choice in the matter. read more

I have gone to Decker's for years for small things here and there (usually oil changes). The last couple visits have been a little rough to say the least. This last time they told me my car was ready to pick up only to get there and have it still on the lift. This is no problem except they were still waiting on a part and a coworker had dropped me off to pick my car thinking it was ready then. I sat and waited for 45 minutes or so and missed my chance to grab a quick bite as this was my lunch break. I was a little annoyed but just let it go. The next time I got my oil changed at a dealership that I trust. 30 minutes after I dropped my car off I get a call informing me that the last person to do the oil change (Deckers) didn't put the casing back on and that I could not drive my car till they ordered this missing part. In the rush of messing up my last oil change, they didn't put it all back together!!! This cost me an extra $75 for their mistake and not having a car for 4 days when I work 45 min from home. I was super nice about telling them this happened and asked that they simply reimburse me for the part that we had to order. Not only did I not get a reimbursement but no one even bothered to call me back after one visit from me in person and 3 followup calls. Very sad to me since I have always recommended them in our small town. Will warn others of this in the future. read more
