Came here for the pre opening media event and tried a few of their delicious dishes. Their service is fantastic. Very nice servers and managers. The renovations here look great. Very well designed space and decor. We really liked the everything at set A! The crispy haddock fish was well cooked and firm. The shrimp was nice and of course the tonkatsu was crispy and tasty with the sauce. The oil wasn't old. We didn't feel gross afterwards. Rice was perfect and the cabbage salad was best to cut the heavy food. The rose garlic sauce was a bit too heavy for our liking. We'd stick with the classic next time. Their "ade" drinks were nice and refreshing too. Try the green grape! All in all we'd come back~

It's great to see Brown Donkatsu open their first Mississauga location! I've been to several of their locations across the GTA, and it's the same great and consistent quality here. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and most important of all, crispy and delicious katsu! Service is super friendly and attentive and the inside is nicely decorated. Definitely worth checking out.

Cheese Bomb Katsu

Brown Donkatsu serves generous portions that are definitely worth the price. The fried pork was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the half-and-half sauce--it added great flavor and paired really well with the pork, although the white sauce was a little too thick for my taste. We also ordered the Cheese Bomb, and it definitely lived up to its name. It was incredibly cheesy, rich, and a perfect side to share. Overall, the meal was very satisfying and filling. If you're looking for a hearty donkatsu meal with generous portions and great flavors, Brown Donkatsu is definitely worth a visit!

Service was good and food was delicious…read more We got fried rice and bulgogi, overall it was yummy! We got here at 5pm on a Sunday. It was only a couple of tables that had customers. Shortly after, the whole place got so packed! So I guess that's something to watch out for in terms of timing. I specifically preferred this place because of the location and good parking spot. Overall, I'd go back here again.

Spicy Stir-Fried Squid and Pork Belly…read more I could hear the wok going absolutely crazy in the kitchen, so my expectations were high before the dish even arrived. It came out sizzling on the hot plate, with the oil still crackling. The pork belly was thick-cut but perfectly sized for one bite. The real surprise, though, was the squid. It had that firm, springy chew you get from grilled squid, but the flesh was also surprisingly thick and substantial. It felt like an indestructible little fighter that just wouldn't give up. Every bite turned into a tiny tug-of-war between my teeth and the squid, and I genuinely loved the texture. The shredded onion, zucchini, and carrot each added a different texture, with the zucchini especially helping cut through the richness. Almost every chopstickful had some meat plus two or three strips of vegetables. The ratio was pretty much perfect. It is on the expensive side, though. I checked Jindallae afterward and a similar dish there is around $22, making this one roughly 30% more expensive. A little disappointed that I didn't get the eggplant banchan I'd heard so much about. The side dishes I did get were simple and very home-style in their seasoning.

There are several mispelled words and other issues with spacing and formatting printed in the menu which for me personally gives off a bad initial impression and lowers the overall vibe of the dining establishment. The food and service does make up for it a little bit. Our waitress was quick to offer house tea early on after we have arrived. The complimentary kimchi and onion for each diner was also always welcome. As an appetizer, I enjoyed our order of small Boneless Fried Chicken flavored with Cheese *Sprinkle. (The other available flavors include Sweet & Sour, Soy Garlic, Honey, Spicy, Spicy *Honey) There were enough pieces of the chicken for sharing between our group of 5 people. Something else I appreciated was the authentic feel of the rice being served in a hot stone pot inside the wooden crates. My main order was menu item #1 Combination Soon Tofu (Beef, Shrimp, Mussel) + Hot Stone Pot Rice. I find the order OK to good. There was too much going on in the soup to find any unifying or distinctive taste. If I have to order again, I would choose a different soup dish sticking to 1 main topping instead of 3. Another main dish I have gotten to sample was menu item #12 Pork Bone Soup. I wouldn't rank it among the best Korean Pork Bone Soups (Gamjatang) I have tried. The meat could have used more time cooking as it was not as tender as I normally expect for this dish. Lastly, I find the overall theming of the place lacking. Considering the restaurant's name, I expected them to specialize with tofu dishes or at least to have a signature menu item having tofu as the main ingredient. The tofu I did have included in my dish was nothing special.

Fast forward to 2026. We're in the Toronto area and I notice there are a handful of Myung Dong style restaurants on my search. We ended up picking this one because it was the closest one from our hotel. Without knowing the quality of the other options, we were so glad we made this choice. Similar menu and the kimchi is one of the stars of the show. Slightly unripe, but loaded with garlic, we couldn't get enough of it. The kalguksu had a mild, but peppery broth; and all members of my family thought it was the best they'd ever had. We also ordered the bossam (pork belly) and steamed mandoo. Eating here was the highlight of our trip. We even considered going back the next day!

There are some booth tables and others are wooden tables in the middle. The banchan was just kimchi and yellow pickled radish. I prefer when they give a variety of little starters. I got a beef soup (bulgogi jjigae) which the broth ended up spicier than I wanted. I thought it should have been on the sweeter side. There are many other Korean dishes one can choose from, especially their popular large pork dumplings. Overall, it was a good experience with my friend.

I've never had a truly bad food/service experience here and in a city where everything is closed by 11 pm, I like that I can always rely on this place for a midnight craving (it's open till 2 am). I think I go back here time and again because this place fills a void in the types of restaurants available in the city. There aren't many late-night sit-down Korean restaurants so I inevitably find myself here. The corn cheese is something I get every time I go here. I really enjoy the salty and sweet combination! I also had the pollack soup for the first time (number 7 on the menu) and thought it was both fishy and spicy, which I really liked. While I certainly don't think you'll be disappointed with the food, I think it's pretty average as far as Korean food goes. I guess the one thing I will say is that I feel like they skimp out on their meat. I'll often order the bibimbap or some other similar rice and meat option and find myself with way too much rice and not enough meat.

The grilling and seasoning were perfect, and it paired well with the sour sauce.
