The flavor of the clams and potatoes came through nicely, and the soup was satisfying. I only wish there had been pepper available on the table to enhance it further. I also sampled a piece of the chicken. It arrived extremely hot, impressively flaky, and generously portioned. It was well-prepared and enjoyable. The fish itself was good, though slightly fishy, with an underlying flavor I couldn't quite identify. It wasn't unpleasant, just noticeable. The accompanying sauce tasted like mayonnaise with a hint of dill but lacked depth and overall flavor. A lemon wedge would have helped brighten the dish. The meal, however, left me feeling quite heavy from the amount of oil. While I appreciated the quality and preparation, it is not something I see myself returning for due to how rich it felt afterward. As for the restaurant itself, the building looks worn, like it has been here a long time. The doors appear in need of a fresh coat of paint--gray and visibly dirty--and the floor felt oily underfoot. While I was there, the tables were being cleaned and sports were playing on the TV overhead, giving the space a casual, local feel. That said, the service was good--friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I did get the impression they could use more business, which is unfortunate because the staff clearly cares about the experience. Overall, a decent meal with strong service, but the heaviness of the food and the condition of the space make it unlikely I would return

What's a bit of a drive when you're driving to delicious shepherd's pie?…read more I thought you'd agree - totally worth it! Their scotch eggs are banging too. In fact, we didn't eat anything that wasn't well seasoned, cooked to order and authentically British. Not an easy find, if you ask me. We sat at their bar, chatted with the bartender - who was really friendly and checked on us often. The place was packed, but we got in quickly and you'd never know they were popping. Their cocktails were amazing and after some chit chat about what I liked and didn't, the suggestions were fabulous. Loved the British decor as well. Such a fun place. It was a lovely evening and we hated to leave, but we'll def be back!

The location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but that's not a bad thing. Lots of parking and outdoor space to wait for a table or pull up a chair. The service is a little stiff and slow but what can you expect from a pub style restaurant. It can get pretty busy inside especially around holidays so definitely make a reservation if you plan on having a big party or don't want to sit at the bar. As far as English/Irish food goes this the only serious contender in the area, i haven't found another UK restaurant that quite mimics the pub atmosphere as well as this one. Check it out for some stick to your ribs goodness!

Any time I go to Denver for a conference, I try to make it out here. I went in the middle of the day for lunch and there were a couple tables and people at the bar, but not crazy busy. Staff is informative and friendly. We got the: 1) Chips and Curry: -It's house made fries and curry sauce. -I'm used to Japanese curry, so I'm always a little bit taken aback when the curry has a bit of sweetness to it, but delicious either way. Slightly sweet and savory curry with lots of layered spices to it. Went deliciously with the chips. 2) English Breakfast: -Comes with 2 eggs (your choice for the style), rashers (thick cured pork), bangers (sausage), baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, and we added some black pudding for $2. -Always get English breakfast when you get a chance to. Filling and comforting. Great diversity of textures and savory, salty, and umami flavors. Gotta get the black pudding too. 3) Scotch Egg: -Comes with spicy mustard. -I LOVE scotch eggs. I'm a low key hardboiled egg enjoyer, so the addition of the sausage layer around with the deep fried breadcrumbs and dipped in mustard? Divine. I will always order this when I see it and this was good! 4) Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich: -You get a choice of fries or tots. We got the tots. -It's made with bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, and onion. -It's alike a nice twist and upgrade to a grilled cheese sandwich. Sweetness from honey mustard, saltiness and crispiness from the bacon, juicy tomatoes. Good stuff. Make sure to use the mustard and HP sauce. Good stuff!

A Denver Gem: State House (Commerce City) If you find…read moreyourself near the northern edge of Denver, State House in Commerce City is an absolute must-visit. It has that perfect "rustic-chic" Colorado vibe--warm, wood-accented, and welcoming--making it just as good for a casual lunch as it is for a weekend dinner. The Burger Battle * Bison Burger: This was the star of the show. It's lean but incredibly juicy, with a deep, rich flavor that puts standard beef to shame. * Pro Tip: Pairing it with the tomato bisque instead of fries was a game-changer. The soup was creamy, vibrant, and had a slight sweetness that cut through the richness of the bison perfectly. * Pub Burger: A classic done right. Two patties, perfectly seared, with a side dijonnaise that adds just the right amount of kick. It's everything a pub burger should be--messy in the best way possible. The side garden salad was surprisingly fresh and crisp, providing a nice light balance to the heavy-hitter burger. The Atmosphere & Service The space is beautiful--modern design meets local charm. We were particularly impressed by the service; the staff was attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell they take pride in the locally sourced ingredients they're serving. The Verdict Whether you're a fan of wild game like the bison or you just want a solid, high-quality cheeseburger, State House hits the mark. It's rare to find a place where the "side" soup is just as memorable as the main course, but that tomato bisque is worth the trip alone. I'll definitely be back for another round of that bison burger!

We ordered 1/2 of a turkey rubin with fries, one cheese burger with green chili as the side 2 coors light and 2 house margarita's and it cost $70 with a tip. The turkey rubin was not grilled enough, it looked like warm bread. The cheese burger came naked. No lettuce, onion, tomato or pickle. I asked the server, and he said we had to ask for it but it wouldn't be charged extra, even though the cheese was charged $1.50 for a slice of american cheese. THEN WE HAD A FAIR WAGE FEE. (5.00%) of our bill. WHY ARE CUSTOMERS PAYING THAT? The employer should include it in their prices or not charge it. Because $70.00 for this meal that was SUB PAR AT BEST makes me mad. The beer was $2.50 before 4 pm and $3.50 after 4. We would drink beer here. But paying $17 for 2 house margaritas, on happy hour prices, was nuts. The old ownership cared more about the food products that were put out. We will NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. $70 FOR A BURGER AND 1/2 OF A SANDWICH AND TWO DRINKS EACH, AND A WAITER WHO DIDN'T ADD CONDIMENTS TO OUR BURGER... shame on you guys.
