    Mala beef and Tom Yum

Personally, I really loved the broth--it was flavorful and one of the highlights of the meal. The restaurant was also very clean, which made for a comfortable dining experience. However, some of the food seemed undercooked. The pumpkin and taro were still quite firm and could have been cooked longer to become more tender. The fish cake was still cool in the center, and my husband's octopus also needed more cooking time. Since this is a new restaurant, I can understand that there may still be some growing pains and adjustments to make. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our visit and are willing to give it another chance. We'll definitely come back, and hopefully the food preparation will be more consistent by then. Wishing the team the best as they continue to improve!

The food (hot pot) was very delicious. I pick the curry broth and was very flavorful. I will definitely be back for sure. The service was great. My first time dining here and I liked it. Plenty of free parking is a plus for me.

we went to their grand opening and their service was really nice and the interior was very clean. as for the food, it was good for what it was. i really liked that we were able to sample the broths before choosing which we wanted. the selection of toppings had nothing out of the ordinary, i do wish they had fish balls with roe though. the sauce bar didn't have some key sauces like peanut or sesame paste, given it is their grand opening but i was still disappointed there was none of that despite the labels being there. something my party mentioned a few times was that they felt as though the meat was overcooked and that the texture was off. overall i would go again to try later on, but if i'm craving malatang i'd still drive the extra 20min or so to go to a different spot.

The wait time has also been better, so we've been able to get seated sooner instead of waiting forever like before. The food is still good. I'm hooked on the house special and usually add extra meat and beef tendons. I've also tried the curry, which has a unique flavor and is surprisingly good. If you like Taiwanese-style hot pot, I think it's worth giving this place a try. Four stars this time. Better service, better wait times, and good food. My only complaint is that the prices have gone up a bit, but overall, I'm happy with the improvements and will be coming back.

It is located in the Great Wall Shopping Mall in Kent. I recommend entering on the left side( when you're looking at the maib entrance for the mall) doors, as youll see it on your right side. Just look for the lit up red letters. The store itself isn't big, so just be aware as they can get pretty busy. Once inside you'll see fresh veggies, meats and other toppings on the right side. But don't get too carried away, because they do weigh it by the pound and it can add up fast and you'll have the modt expensive malatang ever. Haha. If you have a severe nut or seasame allergy, this place is not for you since they use all of the above. They do advise if you have an allergy to let them know. Its also noted that they use milk in their sous so be aware. They did add a tomato based soup, but there wasnt much details on if they still included the nuts and milk, so please confirm with the staff. I love spicy so I got it spicy, but to me it wasn't but to the rest of the crew, they were sweating. And the staff does advise not to get it if you cant do spicy. If you like pork, the crew got the sweet and sour pork. Its different from other spots since the pork is flattened out. And they said it has a nice crunch and taste. They do have drinks available for purchase from soda to asian teas thats to the right of the register. Service was good, the staff was friendly and nice!

The smell is overpowering. 80%-90% of taste is based on smell. All I could smell was chemical cleaner and could barely taste the food. When the bus person passed by me, the smell was even worse because of the cleaner soaked rag. He was spraying it straight out of the bottle so it was full strength, not diluted. I'm pretty sure if you read the instructions on any harsh chemical like that (I think this was ZEP, by the dark purple color), instructions are to dilute it and to rinse or wipe off with water. I've very sure they do neither here. You shouldn't be using any kind of smelly, harsh chemcial to clean tables in a restaurant. Quat santizer doesn't smell and is the standard practice. Whoever is selling ZEP in this area is making a killing apparently. (I can't dine in at Triumph Valley for the same reason). Harsh chemicals shouldn't be anywhere near food. Think about that when you rescue a wayward dumpling when it bounces onto the table. yuck. Having said that, I expected the beef noodles soup to be more flavorful. The broth was just okay, not as deeply flavored as I would've expected. And the meat was just barely tender enough, but not that impressive either. Fried spring rolls were very oily and the filling was severely overcooked. Complete mush. Not good. I wish I could say better things, but I barely finished half my meal because of the chemical smell. $14.99 for beef noodle soup is a good deal if you can actually taste it. $6.25 not a good deal for mushy, oily spring rolls.

And we had a Korean rice cake in a cheesy sauce that was good as well. But the bottom line is for $100 that meat is a poor quality. My feeling is sometimes people open up restaurants, advertising Wagyu, and then realize how expensive it is and start making cutbacks.

The lamb buns were great. Unlike most buns or patties or quiche which usually have ground lamb, these had tiny cubes, along with potatoes. Just needed some hot sauce to unlock flavors for me.
