When I came outside I saw how un-even and choppy it looks and went back suggesting they apply another coat to even it out. The owner just said it's because your nail is not smooth and that was the end of it. No suggestion to correct or even sorry. Said next time use a different colour (not metallic). Tragic(it lasted me only for a week). I stopped by to request a booking. The salon was very packed and busy. A lady(who turned out to be the owner) came rushing to help me book an appointment. Unfortunately they have no more room for the day but she booked me for another day. I half sniffled-held up my broken nail finger and asked, "what should I do in a mean while?". And she gave a dramatic gasp and begin to file that *bleep* down for me. Pro. I returned the next day and it was dramatically different. There were no other clients in the salon and I was only one. I was greeted by Hannah & Cindy duo. It took me a while to try to decide what I would like for the colour change. They didn't rush me. They chatted and laughed along with me, making me feel very comfortable. Sure, it helps that I was the only one in and it was a down time. But I stayed getting my nails done until they were closing off the salon. And they never made me feel like they want to get rid of me as quick as possible for some relaxation of their own. Hannah in particular was the one who worked on my nails and she was so thorough and detailed. I'm not an expert on all these nail things and she took her time to answer all my questions. Including none-related cooking questions. I hope Hannah & Cindy are still around. They were such a great people to be around and made the whole experience great. My visit was 3 months ago. And I'm still writing this review. This should show how much of a great experience I've had in this location thanks to those two!

After Nancy confirmed my appointment she harshly said, "and don't be late otherwise I won't be able to see you until 1:30 ". Her comment stunned me because I had not been late in many months. Over the years I thought Nancy did not like me because no matter how much I said hello, tried to make conversation and gave good tips she was very serious, hardly acknowledged me when I came in she never wished me a nice day or thanked me for a tip. She shows no basic customer service in politeness. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did like how my nails were done, but yesterday I read through other reviews where others were treated rudely by Nancy. Other customers also said Smile Nail employees would call them if they are even 1 minute late for their appointment threatening to give their appointment away. I had the same experience. Then I would walk in the salon and no one would even be there, they weren't even that busy. Frankly, those phone calls made me feel a bit harassed but I let it slide and tried to remain a loyal customer. Other times if I asked for my mani pedi to be done separate, Nancy would get upset and say, " I'already told you before, you have to request that ahead of time, as if its my fault for not keeping track of all her rules. " It's rude and I don't need to be chastised like a child, especially in front of other customers. I pay too much money and give nice tips to be treated so harshly. They are losing workers and recently I have noticed they only have one other guy still working with them. Lin is friendly and gives good pedicures. She recently complained to me that no one wants to work for them. Perhaps if they created a kinder environment others would want to continue working there. I ended up calling back a couple hours later and just cancelling my appointment. I will no longer be going to Smile Nails or recommending them. I hope they stop and read these comments and work harder on their attitude.

One of the girls was giving me a pedicure and Anna (the owner) was giving me a manicure at the same time. The girl was scraping the dead skin off my foot and wasn't paying attention and scraped the side of my foot. Realizing what she'd done, she immediately dropped my foot in the water to hide the cut, which stung so fcking bad. I pulled my foot out of the water and blood was gushing out. Anna said something to her in Vietnamese and the girl ran to grab ointment and bandages. I'm not impressed that she didn't acknowledge her mistake right away, but I didn't make a fuss. The girl was so embarrassed, she didn't look at me for the rest of the time so Anna ended up taking my payment. It's surprising that she charged me full price and I'm an idiot for tipping on top of that. This was 2 months ago and I wasn't going to bother writing about this, but that cut is now a scar, which I'm not happy about. I will never go back there, if I had a health condition this could've ended even worse.
