Poor wine and poor customer service. Nothing from their "Dry Red" category is anywhere close to dry. It's all WAY too sweet. We were served wine from a bottle that was marked as over a week old and was definitely starting to sour. When we pointed this out to the lady behind the counter instead of apologizing and opening a new bottle, she tried to argue with us about it. The whole time we were there she kept telling us what she likes to cut the different wines with (bourbon, brandy, etc.) which tells me 2 things. A. She doesn't know anything about wine and you shouldn't trust her advice. B. None of the wines are worth drinking out of the bottle without spiking with something stronger. I had high hopes for this place as I went with a friend from out of town. I bought a groupon and cashing it in was a huge pain both before and after arrival. The server, Michelle, was super rude. She told me I had to have a Groupon account so she could hit 'redeem' on it (No cell service exists out here to even do that). It shouldn't let me check out as a guest if this was a problem OR the business should maybe buy the actual scanner if they are that worried about people trying to reuse the Groupon. Michelle yelled out all the wine descriptions to everyone in the tasting room so she "didn't have to say them twice." She rushed us through the tasting and was very adamant about being out of there at exactly 5pm. She practically shoved us outside with a glass of wine and our cheese plate. When we got outside, the wasps and bees were so bad and being allergic, we decided to take our tray inside. Michelle approached us and said that we couldn't eat and drink inside because of COVID-19 unless you are an employee even though there was another woman sitting inside eating and drinking and hanging out with Michelle. The woman said to us, "yeah, I'm kind of an employee because I help make the food." Great. Some random lady is helping to make customer's food, eating and drinking inside, but that's not a COVID-19 violation? Gotcha. We will not be back. read more

On our way to Louisville from the Cincy area, I decided to check out Groupon for deals on wineries. 2 popped up and I bought them both. One being for Brooks Hill. When we got there, there was a young couple on the patio; other than that the place was empty. When we walked in the lady behind the counter asked, "can I help you?" She sounded a bit stand offish as if she had no idea why we would be walking in to a winery. It was a bit off putting. We said we were there for a tasting and again, she didn't see receptive. I let her know we have a Groupon and we were told that you MUST have prior reservations to use that. When the place is completely empty?? We told her we were from out of town and would not be returning to the area any time soon. I will say, she was very accomodating. She said she was closing in 30 minutues and would allow us the tasting but she would need to make our cheese tray to go. ok......turns out she has something important to do with her son that evening and really had her hopes up on getting out of there on time. There were a lot of positives and a lot of negatives to this winery. First I'll start with the positives. Very friendly owners and staff!! The cute dog Lili and all the festive Christmas decorations added a nice touch to the experience. My favorite part was the huge back patio under an old wood roof. Light were strung throughout the ceiling and in between beams. Pretty! I would love to see this place in the Fall all lit up while sitting back and enjoying a glass of vino. It was very quiet and peaceful nestled between the dried out vines. They also had a lot of wines to choose from. My favorite was the semi-dry Riesling. A lot of them were too sweet for my liking. I did love the fact that they process some of their own grapes to make housemade wine! I was happy to see this because many wineries around the area aren't actually a vineyard. As far as negatives go, the first thing I noticed was there were no stools at the tasting counter. I personally like to sit back and relax while sampling. Taking my time with each glass is important I think. In this particular environment though, I felt rushed and it was just one sample after another. Another thing I didn't care for was that they didn't give us our cheese tray until after we finished our five samples. She explained it was because they didn't want the cheese and crackers to take away from the flavors of the wine. Hmmm...I think that's a little odd. If you're there for a wine and cheese tasting then you should get them together. My suggestion would be to go with a mild flavored cheese and a plain flavored cracker. Nothing too seasoned. The cheese tray was pretty much something you would see purchased from Kroger. Nothing special. Unfortunately because all the cheese was stored in the same package (I assume), all of them had a slight pepper jack tinge. I did like the extra cup of hummus and pita chip addition. That was good! All in all I did have a good time, but probably won't be back anytime soon. I think with several tweaks this winery could have major potential. It's not far from Louisville at all which was awesome! And, I did use a Groupon for $12. That got us five tastings each for two people and a cheese tray. That alone was worth the visit! We also ended up buying a bottle of the Riesling (it was 1/2 off) I liked and enjoyed that sitting outside while munching on our goodies. If you are a winery/vineyard fan, then I say buy up a Groupon and make a trip. It was cheap fun for a good two hours. :) read more

I came here recently and I fell in love with the Blackberry wine they have. I live in Cali & I wish I would have bought more than 1 wine bottle because this wine is AMAZING. This was the first of a winery tour that a decent size group of us did. Our group ended up being larger than originally thought but as we were the only ones there at the time, the 2-3 people behind the bar were able to break us up into smaller groups. The woman that help my cluster of people was very friendly and made sure each of us had a sample in our glass. They had a friendly dog on site that seemed to like all of us, a great patio outside and a great selections of wine to try! The Lily's White and Rose of Sharon were my favorite. read more

I highly recommend. Quick drive from Louisville and easy to find. Friendly staff...5 wines with the $5 tasting which includes the glass. I liked all that I tasted, and I'm a white wine/Riesling fan. This is a quaint mom and pop winery, it has a very down home family feel to it, including an on-site dog. A tasting is $5 for 5 and the bottles range from $13 to $21. I didn't find the hosts to be very engaging or educational, however they were married, and acted like a married couple, which was entertaining. I also am not a fan of sweet wine, which is most Kentucky wine. But, I do love going to wineries with a view and relaxing, so this is a nice spot. read more

After having one of these bottle at Thanksgiving I knew I had to go by the winery. It's a small tasting room but there is a larger outdoor area. I expect the patio is very nice is the spring and summer. The place was decorated for Christmas and the lady behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. We paid 5 dollars (I think) for 5 pours and you get to keep your souvenir glass. I only tasted the sweet wines on our trip but was told the dry wines were also good. The Old Bullitt wine is the sweetest wine I have ever tasted. It basically tastes like grape juice. I bought a couple of bottles and am very pleased. read more

I stopped here on my way home from vacation for about an hour and I had a great time. I got out sample five wines for $5. The lady working the bar was very friendly and great to talk to. While sampling the wines there was another customer at the bar and she was just as friendly. The winery has an assortment of wine related items for sale that are awesome. Got a groupon to come to this winery, seemed really cute and quaint with the decorations and outdoor seating. Once we got inside we were treated by two very stressed out workers, who did not hesitate to let us know how tired they were. We were only allowed to pick 5 wines out of a long list, most of which were very sweet. Me and my husband are dry wine drinkers so to find out that most of the dry or semi dry wines tasted like grape juice was disappointing. Not to mention the top seller wine was sold out. At one point in the tasting, our hostess was doubled over her arms laying in front of us like she felt sick. I asked her what was wrong and she explained how bad her allergies were. My family has been going here for awhile, but this was the first Saturday night I attended the music under the pavilion. It's bring your own food, and buy their delicious wine. Their adorable dog Lilli is running around, and it is just a casual, fun atmosphere. Their two sweet wines, both titled with Lilli, the dog's name are very sweet- what I thought wine should taste like when I first started- alcoholic grape juice. They also had good heavier wines like the Sweet Martyne. It's typical an older crowd, but I would take my fellow 20 something's here on a Saturday night. read more

The most adorable and friendly little winery! Bee set us up with a $5 wine tasting which included 5 different wines. She was kind enough to share with us some of her favorite local eateries and even went out of her way to draw us a map of where to find them! Girls day out, stopped here after another Tasting elsewhere. We didn't have a Reservation and we're going to come back another time as it was after 3pm, we had our Groupon ready. But we're told not necessary That just allows them time to have the Cheese and Cracker plate ready. (we were only 2 there). We went ahead, but overall felt like we inconvinced her she was nice cordual. Wasn't over social unless asked, answered the questions we asked about the wine's we were tasting. You HAVE to Stand for the tasting, 1 of us has a cane recovering from Back surgery. It's oyster crackers thru the tasting, Glasses not rinsed between Wine's. The tasting itself wasn't very relaxing wanted to hurry up so could Sit downwith Cheese plate, being Disabled has Disadvantages. **Cheese plate is served AFTER the tasting, Advertisement suggest it's Served at the time of the Tasting.** *The Cheese plate, wasn't impressed, possible slice Cheeses from local stores, some type dip Bland in a bowl (no sm knife to put on cracker So Dip ? Crackers - were a few but mainly some type Baked dough thin pieces Bland, those were thrown away as well as some of the Cheeses. No New experience there. Therefore your inclined to buy a glass or bottle of wine for your Cheese tray, We did and waited out the Rain outside as we saw no where encouraging us to sit and relax inside and converse.
