I had heard that this winery had won a wine competition in Kentucky, so I was very excited. However, the visitor center was smaller than I expected. It is a very small winery in the countryside. When I arrived, I saw customers buying various wines, so I believed it would be good. You can choose from 6 different wine flavors, and on the menu, the left side is very dry, and the right side is sweet. I chose the one wine flavor on the far right, which was very sweet, like a Skittle. It was so sweet, so I had a cute little bee drinking it with me, like the picture I attached. The dipping sauce was so delicious, and the wine with nature was enough to make me happy.

I'm a simple person, I see that dogs are allowed at a place, they automatically get 5 stars. Even though this winery is not far from Louisville, you do have to take some country roads to get here. We did a tasting when was 5 dollars for 6 wines. I am not a big wine drinker, but I think this was one of the best tastings I've had. We also ordered the cheese plate and that was spot on. As I mentioned previously, Wight-Meyer allows dogs in the winery. One of them being the owner's dog. It was nice being able to have a glass of wine while playing with the different dogs. I bet it;s more convenient for pet owners too because they can have a glass of wine while allowing their little buddy to interact with other people. Maybe other businesses should follow what Wight-Meyer is doing and be pet friendly. ;)

This is a really pretty vineyard. We sat outside to have our tasting while enjoying the scenery. Good wines. Nice place to have a get together!

I really enjoyed coming to this winery! It is not too far from the Louisville area, although it is pretty deep into some country roads/neighborhoods. What I really like about this one is that they have their vineyards right in the yard beside their building, which could be fun to explore. The building itself, as I'm learning most of them are, looks like an adorable little house. Everyone here was friendly and we got to try 6 delicious wines for $5. Also, if you come hungry GET THE CHEESE PLATE! It's amazing... Their wines are also a pretty good variety, for different palates.

Coming here I didn't know what to expect when pulling up to the place, it's on a gravel road past some houses on a dead end road. Glad I had my GPS otherwise I probably wouldn't have found the place. And it looks like a small house with a huge vineyard beside it. This place was not very busy on a weekday so getting quick service was no issue. The ladies working were very pleasant and was able to interact quite well and engaged in conversation while tasting some wines. Employee/Customer interaction is what will get me to come back to a business. I did taste mostly sweet wines during this visit and they were pretty good. My favorite was the Reisling with hint of green apples (One of my favorite fruits). I also purchased the glass for $4. I will be back to this winery, I wish I could remember these ladies names, they are so wonderful and made me feel welcome. Thanks again ladies.

Nice place to do the $5 wine flight. Cherry Cordial was accompanied by a chocolate kiss...extra sweet. extra tasty. Buffalo Head Red ages 10 months, it is smooth and they have another only available there, is a extra extra proof that certainly will kick your butt if you tried to finish that bottle. Pink Diamond Rose was a perfect choice for porch sitting. They have a lovely area where you can bring in your snacks and enjoy a flight or bottle. Extra nice staff Extra nice venue

Came here with a friend to try to get out of the house for a bit. We were the only customers while doing our tasting. I believe it was 6 wines for $5. After our tasting, we bought a bottle and a cheese tray to enjoy in the patio. They had several tables set up and spaced out for social distancing. The employees wore masks and made sure everyone was spaced out. We left when the crowd started to pick up but overall, it was a good experience.

Funny Amanda J story with this one. On the day we went, I was waiting on Kathy to finish up with something (I think she was working or bridal showering or something). I kept seeing Amanda J check-in to wineries. When she checked into this one I said to myself... "ooooo... what's this one? I've never heard of this one." With that, as soon as Kathy made it to my place, I said, "Let's go here... like now!" Amanda was still there with her group two hours later! So thanks for checking in to this place and giving me something to do on a Saturday afternoon/evening! We promise we aren't being creepy. Equally, we're absolutely looking for walls for you to take pictures with. We walked in and stood at the bar/tasting area. It was a smaller bar than most wineries. It was a weird first impression though. The place had a normal sized crowd but it didn't seem abnormally busy. It took longer than it should have to be greeted. The lady that finally greeted us was amazing and she seemed to realize we had been standing there being ignored by every other employee there. Wineries aren't a must destination for me so customer service is an ABSOLUTE MUST when visiting these places. While they aren't a destination, I do have a gf that like Pokemon, must go(catch) to them all so I've been to a ton of wineries. I have zero complaints about the lady that poured for us. She was super busy and still managed to get us through our tasting efficiently with no help from the rest of the crew. With as many employees as they had on that day, I think I expected more teamwork. The patio is nice. After our tasting, we each ordered a glass as usual to enjoy the space. On this particular night, they were setting up for a live band and food. We didn't stick around but it was cool that a band was going to play. The tasting was typical. 6 tastings for a cheap price with a glass included. The wine is okay. Most of it seemed to have an apple taste to it. I tried a variety of sweet to dry. They also had something here that I haven't seen on a menu (Semi-Dry). I always see dry, semi-sweet and sweet. That's the first time I've seen semi-dry. The drys were good, but the taste wasn't varied between the different wines. Kentucky Norton was easily the best that I tried. The glass that I ordered after our tasting was Kentucky Norton. It was good but the weirdest thing happened. As I made my way through the glass, it seemed to have an aftertaste like that of beer. It was fine but it made things weird. Side notes: -- Live bands on occasion. -- You can also order a cheese plate. We didn't do this as we were just there to drink. -- This winery is off the beaten path with a few side roads that you have to take. Luckily there are signs to guide you. -- From other reviews, it seems they have a Groupon on occasion. Check there before going.

I really enjoyed my time at the Wight-Meyer Vineyard! I can't believe it was only a 40-minute drive from St. Matthews. Nestled in between a residential area and a forest, the winery is gorgeous and lush. It's family-owned and you can tell they really care about their product. All of the wine descriptions were right on par with their taste, and I found myself gravitating toward the dry reds. Although I'm not a fan of sweet wines, I found the sweet offerings palatable. I got a full size glass of the dry Norton red--so good! If you go, you must say hello to the winery dog, Charlie. He is so sweet and friendly. This is also a fantastic spot for bachelor/bachelorette parties and weddings--they have the altar up year-round! A nice large indoor space is available for small and large groups. While we were there in April 2021, all staff wore masks. Thanks for a great time!

I have been to Wight-Meyer a few times and it is a winery I really enjoy going to. The staff is friendly and they have a nice patio to sit out on. We first did a tasting for 6 wines for $5. They also appeared to have flights available to enjoy on the patio area. They have a variety of wines from dry to sweet available for guests to sample and purchase. The staff sanitized the bar area before we sat down and wore masks throughout the tasting. I enjoyed all the wines I tried. I would recommend the Diamond and the Pink Diamond. After enjoying the tasting, we got a bottle and wine cheese to split on the patio. Wight-Meyer has indoor and outdoor seating available for guests. The tables on the indoor patio were spread out and seated about 4 guests per table. It looked as though there were a couple tables available for groups more than 4. The wine cheese we got was very good and I highly recommend. It also came with a sleeve of crackers. This is a great local winery and vineyard to try and I can't wait to go back!

Hi Charlie! Plus cheese platter to take outdoors! Beer cheese, wine cheese, and bourbon cheese.

We stopped here before playing golf down the road (Heritage Hill) and loved this place! We both did wine flights to try a little bit of everything. Being from the northeast, I love trying Norton wines wherever I go in KY/MO region and the Norton here was incredible!! So full bodied, peppery, wow! We ended up buying a few bottles of Norton and Chambourcin to take home. And oh, did I mention -- the owner's sweet dog Charlie greeted us on the patio!

This was our last stop on the Kentucky Wine Trail. Loved the quality of the red wines! Especially the Cabernet. We did the wine tasting for $5.00 which you get a glass. Great atomosphere, friendly servers and awesome wines. A must visit.

I'm all about the Groupons and luckily I snagged one to Wight-Meyer a couple of months ago. Giving experiences is more memorable than material things (imho) and I used this Groupon as part of a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Like many Groupons, you have to call and reserve a tasting 24 hours in advance. No biggie. Getting here was a bit of an adventure. Coming from Louisville, you drive South on I-65, getting off at Exit 116. You stay on 480-E for nearly 6 miles before turning left onto a narrow, neighborhood road. Thankfully there are wicket signs posted along the road at curves and intersections to relieve your worry that, Omg, I'm in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, you kinda are, BUT at least you're going in the right direction. Nestled in the back of a new subdivision sits Wight-Meyer. My boyfriend and I pull up this past Saturday afternoon and trudge inside as fat snowflakes slowly fall. Upon entering, the tasting room is fairly small. There are two tables for groups and seating at the bar area. That's it. We were greeted immediately and told to sit wherever. We chose the bar because it was farthest from the door. Stay away winter! The tasting menu was extensive and one thing I found interesting was most of the wine had a fruity background. You won't find the basic Cab Savs or Merlots here. Instead they have a Hillbilly Rhone, Cabernet Dore', and Cherry Cordial Sweet Red. We got to choose 6 to sample, and the Groupon included a cheese platter. Loads of crackers to pair with beer cheese, house cheese (maybe a blend of sharp and mild cheddar?), and a white cheddar with horseradish. While the samples weren't overly large (womp), the service was prompt and the ladies working were extremely nice. Once we finished our tasting, we were told we could buy a bottle to drink some now and they would re-cork it for us to make it legal to drive back with. DONE! We got a bottle of the Reisling and each had a glass before calling it quits. The bottles are fairly priced, ranging from $14 - $20. There are a couple of dessert wines that get pricey, $40 max for those. But I'm not a fan of sweet wine so opted out. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours and lounge. I'm sure it's gorgeous in the spring because the vineyard sits right outside the tasting room and the large windows inside let you overlook it. Will have to return!

Everyone commented on the food and said how it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. Huber's is forever one of our most special places. We arrived a little bit early and had lunch at the cafe on-site, which was pretty good, and then we checked in for our tour. What people may not know is that below the gift shop area is where a lot of the barrels and such are. I think our tour guide's name was Ricky and she was very good, I learned a little bit about the distillery. We had chosen the bottle your own experience, which ended up being really unique. At the end of the tour, we got to taste a few of the bourbons, literally from the barrels, and then we got to fill a bottle from one of the open barrels. After that, we put a sticker/the label one, plus one with our name, and another with the back label. Differentiation was encouraged, although we all put them on standardly except for my husband, who had the four of us plus Ricky sign the bottle, which was fun. I believe the tour was $100 each, and just the bottle itself would've been like $80, so for $20 extra, it was a good deal. At the end of the tour, they let us taste a good portion of their wines and other whiskeys and bourbons; I will say their wines were not that great, unfortunately, though there were two that I liked and purchased. They were very generous with the tastings and I don't think there was a maximum number ... I tasted maybe 1/3 of what was on the sheet, aka open for tastings. Overall I would come back here, although I probably wouldn't need to do the tour a second time (it would be fun to see the rickhouses, though).
