The wine was great! The blueberry port is fantastic! The staff was very kind and accommodating! Safe travels. Prost

VIsit this place for no other reason than to meet Paul the wine guy! He is so great. He loves talking about the area and the wine and the winery and helped us purchase bottles and glasses to accompany our food we brought with us. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the scenery and just had a great time. Lots of wine related items can be purchased in their store. Not to far out of town, really great patio!

After 4 bourbon trail stops over 2 days we planned a wine stop. This place is now just a tasting room. You have a choice of around 20 to taste. Many are sweet which I prefer. During the week tastings are 6 for 5 dollars and the weekend is 3 for 3 dollars. If they aren't crowded you can do another round. They do this since the tasting room is small. Lots of bottles to buy and you get 5 percent off for 3 and 10 for 6. I recommend visiting. Late on Friday and Saturday evenings they have music. We were lucky to have no other Customers when we first arrived on a Sunday around 2:30PM. Friendly workers. We bought 6 wines!

My hubby even found a rocking chair after a day of bourboning !

The Vidal Blanc is definitely a fantastic choice for the dry and crisp wine lover. The venue is beautiful both inside and out. Several families were in the yard enjoying a very nice October evening and listening to a great entertainer. Service was a bit lacking at the counter, the Wine Rep didn't offer the flight initially and was a bit abrupt. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves wine as the selections listed look very good.

One of my favorite wineries in the state. I love the variety of wine they offer. The service is always outstanding. This location is smaller and more intimate than the other. Always stop for a tasting or glass when I'm in the area.

Cute winery right next to Jeptha Creed. Bartender was nice and helpful. Wine was good too! We were expecting super sweet fruit wines, but they had a good mix of dry and sweet.

Made it up to see Paul the wine guy via someone else's incredible review and was not disappointed! He is so full of knowledge, ask away! My husband is not a big wine drinker and he really helped him in seeing the different sides of the wines and how to pair them. Very charming and you can tell he really loves what he's selling. We went on a Sunday and the wine tasting is limited to 3 pours for tasting for $3 (Paul side during the week it's 6 for $ ) They have a calendar on their website that shows live music at both locations Lexington and Shelbyville starts at 4 and ends at 6 and gives you an hour afterwards to enjoy the patio/picnic table areas. It is dog friendly, however your fur babies are not allowed inside. I recommend the first time to go without your babes so you can enjoy a good tasting. Food is limited as in cracker foods. Their is a small fridge with some options for a small snack and coke products should you have folks under 21 in your party. Cute little shopping area too! Loved it and will be back again. Fantastic little hide away in beautiful Shelbyville

    Beautiful outside area.

A hidden gem! Sheila was great, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. We tried whites, reds, blends, and they were all fantastic. The outdoor area is so peaceful. They also have live music on the weekends! Definitely make sure to stop by if you get the chance. My dad is also a veteran/first responder and they gave him a nice discount!

Stopped in spontaneously on our bourbon trail visits. It's close to the Jeptha Creed distillery. It's a nice break from all the bourbon! Their different varieties of wines are delicious. A favorite of ours was the Rogue: Traminette that's aged in bourbon barrels. You get that hint of bourbon while still tasting like a bright tasting white wine. Paul was very knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the different varieties and sharing the history of the winery. Live music on Friday and Saturday evenings! So glad we stopped at this little gem.

Stopped by for a wine tasting with our pup today! Got a seat with a view on the covered patio! Super pretty out back! The wine was really good too! Got a 6 pour tasting to share and liked each wine we tried! The rose and the equestrian red were probably our favs though! Bought a bottle and the server was super sweet! Complimented our dog too!

Love the service and the wines are amazing a must go and there so friendly and just a must visit if coming to Kentucky

Had the pleasure of stopping by Talon Winery today during our trip through Kentucky and thought I'd…read moregive a quick recap for my fellow yelpers. The grounds are undeniably beautiful. The scenery, atmosphere, and overall property create a relaxing environment that feels very "Kentucky wine country." The staff was also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and wonderful with families and kids. The gift shop and tasting space itself functionally was not laid out in a way that made the experience especially easy or comfortable to enjoy. For those of you interested in tastings, there is nowhere comfortable to sit during the tasting process, unless you want to trade into plastic cups and head outside. This unintentionally created a rushed feeling, even though the staff themselves never pressured us. As for the wines, I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon, Equestrian Series, and Crimson Cabernet. I personally tend to lean towards drier, more robust wines, these felt fairly lackluster overall and lacked the depth and balance I personally look for in a wine that can either stand confidently on its own or pair beautifully with food. A few of the sweeter wines others in my group sampled came across far more grape-forward than expected and reminded me more of juice than a refined wine experience. (My overall impression was they paired more with $10 bottles than the prices that were asked) While the staff was clearly well-intentioned and friendly, the overall tasting experience lacked some of the seriousness, polish, and professionalism that you would expect from a true leader in the wine space. We had to request that glasses be emptied and cleaned between tastings, water was never offered between pours, and some of the finer details that elevate a winery experience simply felt overlooked. That said, this place has a lot of potential. Between the scenery, atmosphere, and welcoming team, I could absolutely see why Talon Winery would become a favorite spot for locals or visitors looking for a casual afternoon outing. However, for those looking for a polished, elevated "Napa-style" wine experience, this may not quite be the home run I had hoped it would be.

Wine with an amazing view? Yes please!…read more The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room knows how to make an afternoon of enjoying wine. I met my family there over the weekend for a fun lunch. The Ridge allows BYOFood, so we brought a spread. And then we bought wine from them. My favorite was the Blackberry Table Wine, which was sweet but balanced. We took over a table on the large patio that overlooks the Ohio River. And man, what a view. There was slight breeze and ample room for everyone to sit, while being socially distant. We watched barges slowly make their way down the river while we chatted and drank. And then inside, The Ridge has a small but fun gift shop. My mom and aunt bought a cheeky glass and T-shirt. The Ridge also offers tastings in case you want to try several fruit wines. I've had better wine in Kentucky/Indiana, but The Ridge's wine plus view and overall atmosphere makes this a must-visit.

I loved every wine I tried and brought several bottles home (which were consumed within a week or so). The tasting room is connected to a couple's home but it isn't weird at all (b/c I thought it would be!) It was so enjoyable to taste the wine, chat with the owners (who were hilarious and in love), then buy our glasses of wine to relax on the deck for girl talk and river views. I look forward to coming back and hope to bring my husband for a relaxing afternoon!

You can stop by whenever you feel the need to taste some wine, tequila or bourbon Hannah, the manger, is so sweet. She reminds me of Joanna Gaines. She's one of those people you feel like you know and want to be around. Just a beauty inside and out. She was the only one there and had a few guests to help and she said she was having a bad day but you'd never know. She made my bf and I feel more than welcome and took care of us. We got a small charcuterie with nuts, meats and cheeses and added olives. The charcuterie was not what I was expecting from a winery. It was more of an adult lunchable than charcuterie. The cheese was like that precut Cracker Barrel cheese found in the store. I would have like to have had some freshly grated parmesan or mozzarella. Something that would pair well with the wines. I'm not a fan of Swiss. Love Colby jack and cheddar but those don't really go with the wines I had. I got a flight of white wines that are numbered in my 2nd picture. They were all pretty good but 1 & 4 were my favorites. I was able to taste a new wine slush they're offering. I chose the red wine slush over the white moscato one. I fell in love with it. I tried to get one to go but was unable to due to them not having approved to go containers for them My boyfriend got a flight of premium bourbon which he enjoyed. There are lots of cosy places inside and out to sit and sip your favorite drink. We did leave with a bottle of the # 4 wine I liked and garlic sausage though. I will definitely return for a slush!!
