I had been meaning to try this store for a long time. Historically, Brooks Brothers had been above my price point but times had changed, I needed some dress shirts and I wanted quality. This BB is part of Somerset South. However, it has its own entrance (big plus). It has two floors and a classy, refined interior. Dress shirts and ties are on the ground floor. One thing that immediately distinguishes this store is service. You don't feel like salesman prey when you walk in here. However, the staff is quite knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Amy, the person who helped me, explained that the store has only non-iron shirts in stock but offered to order the non-non-iron kind for me free of shipping cost if desired. After doing my homework on the BB non-iron process and cloth, I decided to try the shirts. Nevertheless, Amy said that she didn't want me to be unhappy. She said that I could wash one of the three shirts I bought, try it on and return the three shirts for an exchange if the washed shirt felt bad (happily, it did not). That's service! I'm blown away by the customer support I just received at this place. I just moved to MI from CA having spent the last 15 years in the tech sector, so my wardrobe consisted of jeans and tee-shirts. New job, formal company, so since arriving in MI mid-March of this year, I've spent more than $5,000 at this Brooks Bros. One $200 sweater I purchased came back from its first dry cleaning with 3 visible marks where the fabric had torn away. I took it in today simply to swap out and (without even looking up my account history!) was confronted while waiting in line at the register by a guy who looked at it and immediately told me to go pursue reimbursement from the dry cleaner!! I told him please let me get to the register so you guys can look up my account, and he got more firm with me that they're not going to do anything for me. What a flawed business strategy by a high-end retail chain. My money will be well spent elsewhere going forward. read more

Brooks Brothers has the best selection of men's bow ties in the entire mall! We went EVERYWHERE before heading here, including Macy's, Nordstrom, Bachrach, Express, Saks, etc. Erika was so sweet and very helpful! She showed us the different selection of bow ties and helped me pick out two perfect bow ties for my new job. Yes, they are pricey, but not anymore expensive than the other places I tried before coming here. The bow ties are 100% silk and you can tell the difference when tying these and other cheaply made ties. I will definitely be back in the future. read more

I don't usually review big chain retail establishments because it is hard for many of them to be either outstanding or terrible. However, my visit to this BB store last weekend was a disaster. I'm looking to replace several suits and sport coats. I have numerous BB items and generally find their stuff ok. However, it is definitely overpriced for the quality, but fairly convenient. First, I understand they've had to move to a smaller spot for some renovations so there is limited selection and the ambiance is more like a thrift store than a traditional BB store. However, the salesperson was one of the rudest people I've ever met. I walked in with my son (10yo) and asked about purchasing a new suit and a new spring sports coat. I was met with a somewhat standoffish and rude attitude that even my young son recognized. He asked me if he or we had done something wrong. I assured him no and maybe she was just having a bad day. I proceeded to try on a suit jacket and she continued her rude quips about "why are you trying that one on?" "Are you sure that's the right size?" Look, how about you tell me what I should try on then? Instead, I was more self-deprecating and tried to lighten the mood. I asked her how her day was going and she fired back "Terrible...every day is terrible...I HATE RETAIL!". Alrighty then...needless to say, my son and I left. read more

Was "helped" by the older middle eastern woman today. Not sure how brooks brothers is more expensive than hugo Boss to begin with, but I stopped her when I realized I could get a better suit at boss. She then motioned me towards "less expensive suits" and returned to another customer and said "sorry about that". I was looking some what bummy, I am currently mourning an tragic death in my immediate family and hadn't left the house in days. I had 5 grand in my pocket, I could have purchased anything in the store. Just disgusting service by some arrogant old woman who had no idea what she was doing (both me and my brother who I was there with have spent time in the garment industry). Hugo boss had 4 employees helping us, was happy to give them my business. read more

Stayed there for 5 mins and I was definitely invisible, I guess being Asian, looking foreign and wearing sweatpants are the 3 no-nos.

I was a regular Brooks Brothers customer for a long time until two years ago when I purchased a suit that just turned out really badly. I hadn't been back to the store in all of that time. The Brooks Brother Facebook page solicited people to "share their BB story" and I did. The manager Dave Frisbee contacted me and asked me to bring in the suit that had been sitting untouched all that time. I went in and he agreed that it wasn't up to their standards and had me sized for a new suit. I am amazed...just a wonderful experience that exceeded any expectation I may have had. UNSURPASSED SERVICE. GRACIOUS. PERSONABLE. ACCOMMODATING. The staff went well beyond my expectations. Thank you to the older Detroit gentleman (Carl?) who stayed late to help me find the perfect suit. Thank you to the hip younger salesman who helped me the next day and arranged the fitting with their top tailor (an amazing woman) who worked her magic. Everyone understood my needs were great and time quite limited. Nevertheless, they took excellent care of me and delivered a beautifully fitted suit a day earlier than expected.
