NY Lox bagel blew me away (in a good way). Lox was freshly made, with very generous cream cheese and toppings. Absolutely amazing and one of the best lox bagels I've had. The bagel was not necessarily as good and was lackluster which was why I rated it a 4. What helped was the Asiago bagel. Overall prices are a little on the higher end but would definitely recommend. They also don't accept credit card unless it's $10 and over read more

My daughter and I were in the area for the weekend. We both love great New York style bagels, and decided to check out Brooklyn bagel bakery. We were not disappointed. We split a bacon, egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar as well as a toasted sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese. We both felt that the bagels were different, but both were enjoyable. The sesame bagel had more of a pretzel quality to it. We loved the smokings of the bacon and the cheese was nicely melted. The jalapeño cheddar bagel had a crispness to the outside and was soft on the inside. The cream cheese was very flavorful. The service was very quick despite them being very busy. They definitely know what they are doing. We were able to find a two seater inside the restaurant, but they also had seating outside. People were taking advantage of the nice day and sitting outside. We decided to buy some bagel chips to take home to enjoy with some dips this week. If you are in the area hit up Brooklyn Bagel! You will not be disappointed! read more

Great breakfast spot. Stopped in here for a meeting and really appreciate the efficiency and friendliness of the service. Bagels were more like rolls. They have a lot of dough conditioner. But they are delicious when you think of them as rolls and not bagels. I tried cheddar jalapeño bagels and they are nicely spicy! Coffee is OK. Seating is spartan but functional... read more

This is my favorite bagel spot by far in the area. The bacon, egg, and cheese is always consistent and the quality matches their NYC locations. It's a no frills experience so I usually end up ordering to-go. Additionally, service is always fast but be prepared for a bit of a line on the weekends. Highly recommend if you are in the area! read more

Great, chewy bagels and fast service. Definitely the best bagels in Arlington and in the conversation about DMV. Atmosphere is a little sweatshoppy, but we typically just grab to go or eat outside. They used to be cash only but now take card over $10. read more

I love bagels...and I'm very particular about them. My standards are even higher if there is something New York related about the name. This place definitely lived up to my expectations. I had an everything bagel with garden veggie lite cream cheese and it was outstanding. Of particular note, some places slop on so much cream cheese that it is excessive and wasteful. Not here - they used the perfect amount. read more

Refused to take order. Extremely rude. To go operation is awful. Refused to toast bagel. The opposite of customer focused service.

Came here post run for a bagel. Small business but they do require a $10 min to use a credit card as a heads up. I ended up getting the Triple Decker, chose one on sight since it was getting packed with a ton of runners. Cute spot and they were quite efficient. The server that made your sandwich also found you and handed your food, which is a good way to accommodate and split the load. Good and fast place to pick up a sandwich, just make sure you have cash or a minimum of $10 to use card. read more

Find it odd this place has mediocre reviews on Yelp because most people enjoy them. Today I ordered an egg white and cheese sandwich on a French toast bagel for breakfast. The staff was super nice when I walked in and my order was waiting for me. I ate at the office and feel more than full for most of the day. I've only had sandwiches from here, never just a bagel and schmear so keep that it mind. However I really like this place! read more

OVERALL: Small but best bagel shop in the area. Line could be a little more efficient but you're not waiting long enough for this to be a problem. FOOD: Great texture, flavor, and size. Several pre selected options and of course you can build your own bagel. They also offer smoothies but the milk is powdered so I didn't try it. VENUE: super small and a little confusing when you first walk in because it's always crowded but just get in line and someone from behind the counter will get your order as you move up the line. You pay at the end where the cashier is located (which is the entrance and most people go there first instead of getting in the line) read more

Brooklyn Bagel has taken its rightful place as the number one bagel shop in the DMV. The bagels have that perfect balance of crispy on the top and chewy and delicious in the middle. These are New York style bagels in the best way imaginable. Not to mention the schmears - the whitefish salad would rival any New York deli and there is a wide array of bagel toppings and cream cheeses. The lox is also top quality. And your hangover-cure bagels of bacon-egg-and-cheese and the like are also top notch. Check out the La Colombe coffee and other fun drinks like Dr Browns' sodas. The non-bagel sandwiches are also excellent. We love the Williamsburg. We also love the owners and employees here. read more

Quick breakfast grab as my friend from New York frequents this place. Not going to lie, the fast pace of the workers can be a little daunting but I quickly scanned the menu and got an egg white bagel + sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. Cash is preferred as you need a minimum of around $7 to use your card. We paid about $20ish for 3 bagel sandwiches which I would say is a great price for breakfast. read more

After 15 years living nearby I finally went to this place and was sad and frankly surprised at myself that I hadn't tried it earlier. The bagel was better, in my opinion, than at Bethesda Bagel in Rosslyn. I got an everything with scallion cream cheese and the Bagel was chewy and airy and the various seeds and sundry sprinkled in it retained flavor, whereas they often just taste burned at Bethesda and elsewhere. The cream cheese had a large pieces of fresh scallion mixed in and I could really taste the flavor. It had a kitschy and more lived-in, authentic feeling ambiance than a lot of other places. Dr Brown sodas were available along with other things I have come to expect from Jewish deli or deli-adjacent type places. I also was really intrigued that they had a lot, onion and egg scramble on the menu that is served on a Bagel. Whenever I am out for breakfast in a Jewish deli eggs with lox and onions is what I always order, so I look forward to trying it. Prices were reasonable for this area. Reasons for a 4 and not a 5 are mainly that service was prompt but a little hectic and the ordering area is a bit disorganized, plus there is a $10 minimum to pay by card. Which I get, but these days a lot of us no longer carry cash so I ended up getting a second beverage to hit the minimum. Bagel sandwiches are cheap and if your main offering easily sells for well under $10, then a $10 minimum isn't appropriate. Also maybe the minimum was posted somewhere, but if it was I didn't see it. And honestly this will probably deter me from coming back when I am just looking to grab a quick bagel on my own because I am not going to go take out cash to buy one $5 bagel sandwich when I can preorder and pay by card online elsewhere. read more

I have come to this shop monthly for the past five years. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Great neighborhood spot!

Pretty damn good bagel, I have to say..., and Im from NY. Great outer crust, and dense and chewy on inside. Downside is the cream cheese varieties aren't on display, so you have to ask or open the menu on your phone. (Typically NY bagel shops have all CC visible in a deli case.) Price was good and order was up fast. read more

i've been looking for a good bagel place in Arlington and I'm soo glad I found this place! I went on a Sunday morning which was clearly a common idea for most because it was CROWDED. The line went by super fast though and there were a lot of different options. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was honestly a little spicier than I would've expected which was a great surprise. Just wanted to note that there's a $10 minimum for card. There wasn't too much seating indoors and while there was a bit more outside this is a take out kinda shop. The bagels weren't too expensive and i will DEFINITELY be going again. read more

A NY-style bagel shop with a variety of fresh bagels and cream cheeses, and it's by the court house stop. I came on a Wednesday late morning and it wasn't busy. I got an everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese and it costed almost $5. It's a pretty decent bagel (needs more toppings for a true everything bagel) , and the cream cheese was good (however, I would have liked a stronger garlic and herb flavor). Service was good and fast. It can't compare to actual NY bagels, but it's a solid bagel choice in the area. They unfortunately don't schmear either. Card is for $10+ only, so bring cash. Rating it a 3.5/5, rounding up to a 4/5. read more

Visited this bagel shop for the first time and was a little unsure where to place my order. A man was standing near the register, and when he realized I wasn't picking up an existing order, he gave me an annoyed look, as if I should have known to order at the other end of the counter. He pointed to a sign at the back of the store, but didn't explain it kindly. I almost walked out, but I'm glad I didn't because the staff who actually took my order were welcoming and very friendly. The bagels themselves were fantastic! I loved the cream cheese and the texture of the bagel, and my son enjoyed his as well. read more

Worth the wait in line! Fabulous place to pick up weekend breakfast. Friendly staff.

This is by far the best bagel you will get outside of New York and it honestly one-ups half the New York bagel spots too. They are so fast, the place is homey, and they don't charge ridiculous prices. I would give Brooklyn Bagel 6 stars if I could. read more

After a dozen visits, I remained deeply impressed with Brooklyn Bagel! The chewy and blistered bagels rival some of New York City's famous bagel shops. I came here for brunch on a Saturday and this place was packed! I got a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I thought it was pretty decent. I wish the bagel had a little more flavor and a chewier texture. My friend recommended not to toast it because they make their bagels fresh but we swung by the farmer's market anyway so the bagel cooled down by the time we ate it. I also got a coffee and unfortunately they ran out of the flavored coffee which was disappointing. Also, if they are cash only for orders less than $10 so make sure you have some handy if you're only ordering one bagel! read more

1 word. UNDERRATED. the reviews here DO NOT reflect the ENORMOUS amount of business this place gets, especially on a Sunday morning. 100% I'd argue that this place will get you the closest you're going to get to a NJ/NY bagel in the NOVA area. The bagels are fluffy and big, and every time I watch them make my bagel, they cut into it and steam seeps out every time. This is such a staple and my friend and I go weekly! read more

I placed an online pickup order at 7:30am this morning because I intended on "quickly picking up" my order on my way to work. I get to the shop and there's a line almost to the door. There is a sign for pickup orders but I notice several orders behind the counter in bags. I didn't want to be "that person" and cut the line, so I waited in line for almost 10 minutes to ask for my order which was behind the counter with several others. Please please! If you have a pickup order area, please place pickup orders there. Waiting in line to pickup your order defeats the purpose. This made me late to work. Not to mention, they got my order wrong. read more

There's no hiding that the best bagels are from New York City. However, a few spots in the area make decent ones- Bagels, Etc. in Dupont Circle and Pearl's Bagels in Mount Vernon Square. Brooklyn Bagel Bakery is NOT one of them. My five-year-old daughter and I stopped in for a breakfast after a dentist appointment nearby. I ordered the sesame bagel with an egg, cheese, and ham. It was lacking flavor and the bagel wasn't very warm. My daughter, who loves bagels, didn't enjoy her egg bagel with plain cream cheese. My hazelnut latte was the worst latte I've ever had. It tasted stale and the syrup they used tasted like splenda. I regretted ordering it. read more
