Dr. David Chi only cares about making as much money as he can! He does NOT care about people with sight issues. He took over the previous Optometrist, who me and my family saw for over a decade, because he retired. Since I have stigmatism in one eye, the previous Dr, took his time to find at least some magnification for that eye. The new Dr, didn't even bothered checking my eye. He only read my past diagnosis and told me " Ah, you're going blind on that eye." Period. I was in SHOCKED and disbelief of his comment." I never went back. Not recommended at all. read more

The lady at the front has thunderous BO. I was told I had to come in for my insurance to be checked. I cannot leave my frames and rx to be done. I still need to meet with the optometrist. Dr. Chi and Lina took great care of me! They fit me in for a next day appointment, helped me find contacts that were comfortable and easy to put in/take out. They were up front about costs of everything prior to my exam. They also helped me find ways to save money by breaking down the difference of purchasing daily contacts vs monthly and breaking down savings I could optimize on by buying an annual amount of contacts/boxes vs the cost of each box of contacts. They also didn't pressure me in purchasing new glasses as my new prescription is close enough to my old ones for my glasses to suffice as a back up option. Such a clean and friendly office! It was just my luck as they had a same day appointment available- within the hour and accepted my new insurance. So here is my story! Last November I was able to meet Dr. Chi for the first time and his wonderful staff. Unfortunately, I was not well (eye pain/dizzy) so he fit me in and he examined my eyes and had my eyes scanned! Note: I am now learning why it's important to provide all medical information necessary to your eye doctor in advance because they need to know what illnesses to look for as Dr. Chi noticed right away that both optic nerves were swollen!! This explains several different issues that I was having. There was great concern after that, and so I had to follow up with my HMO. Unfortunately, my experience with the medical world helping me quickly was not so good and I ended up seeing Dr. Chi again two more times only to find that my eyes were getting worse, he was surely doing his part to help me. I can't thank Dr. Chi enough for taking the time to evaluate me and read through my history. He was able to re-assure me and answer questions while I was in the process of getting medical help with my HMO. I now have everybody on the same page at least in the medical field as their trying to help me with my condition and it's a process. I did not realize the eyes really are the window to what is happening to your brain. I truly feel without Dr. Chi my care would've been more delayed and he was able to catch on to what was going on with my symptoms in a timely manner, his great equipment and his professional expertise open the doors quick and I was able to provide this information to my doctors immediately. They (Dr.Chi and team) saw me right away and noticed I had an EYE TEAR! Very serious and they took it so. They arranged an appointment with a local specialist for me right then and there. I visited the specialist office, was seen right away. They confirmed the tear and found a second one towards the back of my eye during a more in-depth check. I have been a patient at this office for many years and when I called in to ask for my eyeglasses prescription with PD measurements the front desk person said could not give me the PD measurement since they do not have this. I was confused because I have asked for my PD measurements and they were able to give this to me in the past. I explained the situation again since I just got my eyes checked. The front desk person started getting impatient with me because I was still confused on why they can't provide this information. Her tone was rude and I told her that my daughter and I will go to another optometrist. She still started to be impatient and defensive. I'm a customer service manager and even when the customer is confused and frustrated does not mean the employee needs to be impatient/rude. They should try to figure out how they can resolve this issue as best as possible and put the customer at ease. Especially if I have been patient at this office for many years. I know this office changed owners last year and the front desk seemed nice at the beginning. This situation is disappointing because I like the doctors at this facility. I took my little cousin to the office last month and noticed she was squinting at everything, which made me think her eyes needed a routine check-up. It took me a while to write this review because I wanted to fully assess our experience, especially since she ended up getting Ortho-K lenses. She had just arrived from Japan and her English was limited, but the doctor and staff were incredibly patient and kind, thoroughly explaining the reasons, steps, and process of her treatment to both her and her mom. I'm so pleased with the experience here. It's unbelievable that her previous doctor never prescribed the right lenses for her eyes, causing her to strain and struggle to see clearly. With her Ortho-K treatment, she's now able to see without glasses. Lina helped our whole family got Rx glasses and sunglasses!
