If you are property owners and looking for a property management company to work with, go elsewhere. This is not a right place as Brookfield properties is one of the worst companies to work with. Incompetent owner, old technologies. almost zero communication from their side. You need to ask for monthly and yearly statements quite frequently. We are in 21st century but they are in 17th. read more

I had pipes burst in the attic one winter freeze. I had home owners insurance. And realizing that they have or the owner of the home has insurance in the house they filed on my credit report that I owe them 8000.00 in damages. I don't control the weather. I had the insurance I was legally supposed to have. They will be counter sued. read more

This corporate beast epitomizes greed at its finest! In fact they would make Scrooge himself look like the Pope! After they devoured our property of 7 years they wasted no time jacking up our rent 20% with no regard for my medical condition and being out of work for several months. A typical example of stuffed suits whose only care is a heathy bottom live vs real people. I would rent a straw hut in the Amazon before I would take up residence with these corporate piranhas! read more

Honestly regret signing a two year lease.. we did not realize before signing the lease that there was a mold problem in the house. We have contacted them several times and no one has been out to even look at it. Terrible management. After signing the guy who did all of our paperwork said he hadn't even been in the house before we went on a self tour. Our stovetop had frayed wires that could have caught the house on fire. Cheap properties but a definite health hazard. read more

I am so thankful for Teresa Blankenship and Brookfield Properties. Me and my family was down on our luck with nowhere to call home until we met Teresa Blankenship who was referred to me by a friend . She is a Angel on earth. Every step of getting us in a comfortable living space , a great area to raise our children and affordable payments Teresa Blankenship went above and beyond her call of duty to take care of us . Let me just vent to you if you don't mind listening... Me, my wife and kids signed a lease and rented a property in Bartlett from them. Obviously we didn't know the truth to them at the time. They did at best, half the stuff we ever asked of them while we were there. I work for a large general contractor and we had to break the lease early due to being relocated. I give them as much notice as I had in writing. The lease terms only said that we were liable for rent until the lease expired or if in the event it was re-leased, ours would be terminated. We were also supposed to receive our security and pet deposit once either of those took place. Mind you, we walked through with the worthless crooked property manager on our way out (April 1, 2017) to ensure that they didn't try and say we were liable for anything as well as show him that the place was in the absolute same condition as we received it only MUCH cleaner!! At this point we give the SOB our rent check for April and hit the road. He even asked us if the address on our check was a "good" address to send our deposit. We confirmed that it was. Today (April 19, 2017) I asked my wife to call the neighbor next door to the place as we'd gotten to know her and ask if there'd been any activity over there. She told us that the place was moved into on April 2 or 3. Two or three days after we'd vacated the place. You think we were ever notified by Brookfield Properties? Hell no, those dirty, rotten crooks never said a word, never sent our security deposit and kept the rent check for April!! When I called them today to confirm that it was re-leased and ask about my money, I was told that I didn't get it back because I "broke" the lease. Again, the lease terms said nothing in regards to this, but only what was stated above. I was told by them I was being an ass and that I could have my attorney contact theirs and that they had not one but two. I couldn't help but reply with, i have no doubt that you do. I'm sure being the ratty, rotten, crooked, company that you are you likely keep them VERY busy!! I wish I could say that I am full of shit but I can't even make this stuff up!! read more

we have currently been staying in their property for almost 4 years now. Honestly, its the best property management I've ever encountered. Teresa is always helpful when it comes to getting our issues fixed. I would want to give them 4.5 stars instead of 4, but that option is not here! Love this company and would recommend read more

I have asked for going on 3 years for help with my rotten wood doorway and fence and everytime I call he is sending someone out here. No one has shown up for 3 years. Now I have left message about ac needing looked at and still no one here yet. I'm disappointed but not shocked of the lack of courtesy and respect of their renters. I get a fence is not priority but at least say no or we can't fix it. I even said I'd fix it if they'd pay me back. Nothing. read more

Rented a home from them. Theresa was really helpful, accommodating, and responsive whenever we had issues. She worked with us when we needed special arrangements made. We got our full deposit back. Les was helpful showing us the place and working with us on lease terms. Not sure what was up with the other reviews, I would recommend them. read more

We rented 4266 Atwood Ave. in Memphis in 2013. It was infested with cockroaches, filthy, and in poor repair. They fixed the very basic things, but never sent an exterminator. I had to scrape filth out of the bathtub with a metal putty knife. The ceiling in one bedroom had a large crack in it. They paid a handyman to replace Sheetrock, and patch it up, never addressing why it cracked to begin with. They act like they'll make things right, but they don't. They are only interested in trying to make a dollar at your expense. We had to buy refrigerator and stove, EVERY other place I've rented has had those included in the rent. Neighbors had a mean pit bull chained in backyard. Somebody shooting a gun not far away at 10:30 at night. Got sick of Memphis real quick, we came back to Ohio. Steer clear of Brookefield, or you will regret it too! read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT...DO NOT RENT ANY HOUSING FROM THIS COMPANY! Their properties are old, dilapidated, rodent and pest infested, but yet OVERPRICED! If something goes wrong on the property (and trust me it will) don't expect it to get properly serviced. They'll just send someone (who looks like they just pulled off the street ) to come and "patch" the issue, only for the same issue to occur over and over and over again. From the way they conduct business, not even expecting my security deposit back. However, they could take my left arm if it means I could be released out of my lease early. Please, do not make the same mistake my partner and I did. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY IMMEDIATELY! read more

Brookfield Properties has managed my properties for about a decade. They have consistently kept me informed of any needed improvements and completed them in a timely manner. The staff, including owners and administrative management, continue to be helpful and communicative. Even when navigating difficult issues, Brookfield has proven to be above board and professional. read more

After interacting with the receptionist and another staff in the front office, I'm deeply disappointed with this company. The two women I dealt with were absolutely crass, rude, and unprofessional. They serve as the front of the company. I walked in, they were the first two staff I met. They totally did a disservice representing this business/company. I want the leadership/owners of this company to know that. I, too, am an investor. My family owns 25 properties in town. My family is part of a larger group that owns even more properties. We are in the market looking for a qualified management company to care for our properties. If this review gets to the leadership or owners of this business, and if you care to know the details of my experience, my email address is edmundofcordova@gmail.com. read more

It's clear from the majority of these reviews that the integrity, or rather the lack thereof, of Brookfield Properties is obvious. Their response to trash, yard debris, etc. thrown against my fence on Eastover Place is that I didn't notify them of the problem THEIR tenant was creating. Unless I had gone into the backyard of the property, there was no way for me to know about them throwing the debris against my fence until they had destroyed my fence. They owned that house then, they own the house now. It's not the current tenants responsibility because it's not their fault and they're not owners of the property. It's my fence that your tenants damaged and while I repaired the fence, you still won't do anything about removing the debris. I've decided to remove the fence so I imagine you'll have an issue regardless. It will no longer be a fenced yard and you will not be allowed to connect to my fence. Let this serve as notice, you DO NOT have permission to connect to my fence. Brookfield Properties is rude, unethical, disrepectful of neighbors and neighborhoods. I pity the unknowing potential tenants who cross their path. Hopefully they'll read these reviews and stay far away from Brookfield Properties. The saying "fences make good neighbors" is only accurate as long as you don't have idiot neighbors who destroy the fence. read more
