We wanted to find somewhere to eat within a short walk of the Museumplein as we had 1:15 p.m…read more tickets for the Rijksmuseum. My wife located this place and we met up with our daughter there after she dropped off her rented bike nearby. If you walk to the far end of the park from the Rijksmuseum and turn left at the street that borders the park there, the restaurant is about 2 blocks along there. You enter into a small waiting area and proceed between 2 counters. The best way I can describe the process is that it was like an ice cream shop in the U.S. They had glass displays showing what was available for meals - varieties of pasta, etc. You could select from those, or I think they had salads also. You place your order and then grab a table. A server will bring the food out when it is ready. Seating was a bit limited, so there could be a wait for a table. We arrived just before they got busy, though. They have about 5 or 6 small tables on the ground floor. If those are full, a fallback option is to ascend the spiral stairs up to a low-ceilinged loft. This is where we ate. The chairs here were fine but the tables were quite small - almost like a high coffee table. It wasn't hard to eat off these, just a bit different than usual. Also, if you are much over 6 feet tall, the ceilings will require caution. They can probably accommodate another 3 - 4 small parties up there. Everyone liked their food, which definitely had that 'prepared fresh' vibe. I got the pasta and had no trouble finishing it. I'd definitely consider eating here again were I back in the area.

We wanted a quiet small dinner, no complications 1 Veg, 1 Carnivore. Renzo's was great. We picked…read morefrom the deli counter, heating optional. Delicious selections. Mostly semi Italian deli items. I had ravioli, stuffed mushroom, roasted veggies, rocket and generous parmigiana sprinkling. They have tables so we could eat there. Small place, hard working, cool looking deserts (skipped because we had stuff back at the hotel.). I think they may have had table service upstairs, call and ask if that's your requirement. Lovely neighborhood small deli.

It's a small shop, the kind you almost miss until you're right in front of it, but the moment you…read morestep inside you're met with genuinely warm, friendly service. The staff treats every sandwich like something they're proud to make, assembling each one with care rather than rushing through the order. The breads are fresh, the ingredients are high quality, and the overall selection is strong without feeling cluttered. Everything looks thoughtfully prepared. The salmon sandwich is the standout for me -- fresh flavor, a generous portion of salmon without tipping into "too much," and balanced enough that you finish it feeling satisfied rather than weighed down. It's one I'd recommend to anyone. After ordering, you can wait outside on one of the small benches. They bring your finished sandwich out to you, and there's this almost charming sense of pride in how they hand it over -- like they know exactly how good it is and how happy you're about to be. There's no seating inside; everything is to go. This is the kind of spot where grabbing your sandwich and wandering along the canal feels like the right move.
