Evelyn is a MIRACLE WORKER when it comes to eyebrows! I have been coming here for my brows for year and OMG, my eyebrows have NEVER looked so good. I am middle eastern so my eyebrows grow thick and wild - but Evelyn has mastered them. I drive 1 hour each way just to get my eyebrows done by Evelyn and it's worth every minute and every penny. Not much to say here except the 5 stars are well deserved! I followed Evelyn (the owner) here from her previous salon Bronze Anytime in Mayfair. In all my years of spray tanning, nobody has ever topped Evelyn's work. I go to her because she prides herself on providing quality service. And it shows. My appointment was for Saturday at 2:30. Parking is available at Aldersgate across the street from the salon, but luckily I found street parking. If you're visiting the salon on a weekday, definitely park at Aldersgate. As always, Evelyn was very thorough with me. She explained what she was doing when she was doing it, and made sure the tan was flawless once she finished spraying me. Evelyn provides an exfoliant, aftercare instructions, and lotion to take home with you to use after your shower. The salon itself is cozy and quiet; the perfect addition to the Willow Grove area. Besides spray tans, Evelyn also does sugaring and lash extensions. It's not often that I get spray tans, but I will always refer Evelyn to my family and friends. read more

I recently went for a teeth whitening session here, and really ought to update this review in six months for accuracy. But for the moment, my teeth look perfectly nice. And mind you, this was at a fraction of the cost of a similar treatment at my dentist's office. The peroxide gel used here is slightly lower strength, thus requiring a longer treatment time, but the result seems identical. I would only note that the traffic/parking situation in the vicinity of the studio is somewhat awful, so be advised. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. When I arrived for my first time Brazilian, I was taken to a room in the back, where I was told to remove my shorts and sit on the BARE table. When Evelyn entered the room, she questioned why I still had my shorts on-- I had just assumed for obvious sanitary reasons that she would have laid out some sort of paper over the table-- but fine. Completely exposed from the waste down, I propped myself up onto the table I hoped was clean. As Evelyn proceeded to wax me, she bluntly asked "So you have anemia?" She said this because I was bruising because of the wax. I will NEVER get a wax again, but I am simply unsure if it is because of my sensitive skin (I most definitely do NOT have anemia) or if it was due to Evelyn's poor technique. I was bruised for at least a week or two afterwards and was DEVASTATED. I got waxed in the first place due to habitual ingrown hairs. Looking back, I was more than stupid to think Evelyn would even remotely solve the issue. After telling Evelyn my problem with ingrowns, she said I was "a baby" and did not need any ingrown products post-wax. (I am 19 years old, and maybe that is why she treated me this way.) Let me tell you-- it's now November. I got my wax in July, and I'm still suffering from ingrowns over that wax. Overall, I had such a negative experience at the Bronzing Studio that I would NEVER recommend their waxing services to anyone, unless you like unsanitary, unprofessional, and quite indifferent customer service! I have NEVER even written a review on anything-- positive or negative. I just had to explain this disaster for anyone looking to come here. Disgraceful. read more

I went to see Evelyn to get a spray tan before my engagement party...I have been to a handful of other salons, all of which were airbrush and nothing even compares to Evelyn's work! She is a true professional and it is beyond clear that is the best at what she does. I'm am so thrilled with my color and experience this is the only airbrush tanning salon I will ever go back to. I bought a voucher for the 1 hour teeth whitening on Groupon and I was so happy I did! I've been wanting to get my teeth whitened for a long time and I didn't want to travel too far. The Bronzing Studio is about 15 minutes from my house, so that was a plus! I came in on Tuesday November 13th for my whitening. The girl at the studio ( who's name I can't remember ) was so nice and went over the process. The studio is clean and very relaxing! First off, I feel bad writing this. I don't like to leave reviews for any less than five stars, and I certainly don't like leaving a bad review. I want to be as nice as possible, but also fair in my rating. I have been wanting to try sugaring for a while now, but just haven't gotten around to it. I came across The Bronzing Studio after searching on Google. I saw that there was a $5 Friday Brazilian Sugaring special until March 15th, and decided to take advantage of it. I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian Waxes before (both soft and hard wax) and I've read that sugaring hurts less. So I thought, "what's the worst that could happen?" Oh boy. I don't know what exactly went wrong, but something did. The last Brazilian Wax that I got was at a reputable place in Philly and it was pretty much as painless as a Brazilian gets, from what I remember. This one was painful, to say the least. And it lasted FOREVER! Evelyn had to go over the same areas multiple times and it just seemed never ending. It also took multiple pulls on an area, instead of one big one (like with the hard blue wax), which increased the amount of pain. I have never had to take a pain reliever before getting a wax and Evelyn recommended me to take one next time because I couldn't handle the pain around my labia. I have given birth naturally, so I know I can take a certain amount of pain. This hurt worse than my first ever Brazilian, which was with the soft wax and strips. I remember the last time I got a wax, the woman would hold my skin really taut before each pull and then apply pressure afterwards. Evelyn didn't do either. My skin was held a little taut, but definitely not as much as the woman from my last wax. I think that definitely had an influence on the amount of pain that I felt as well. To make matters worse, the pain lasted for a good while even after being sugared. When I got home a few hours later and went to the bathroom, I saw blood on the toilet paper and asked my husband to take a look down there to see what was going on. He said that I was cut at the base of my labia. That has never ever happened before! I took a look with a mirror, and sure enough I had about a two inch split in my skin at the base of my labia minora. OUCH! No wonder I couldn't take the pain around my labia. I have no idea if it was the technique or what, but I will not be trying sugaring down there ever again...I am totally turned off. Sugaring may hurt less on your legs, arms, underarms, etc (I can't speak to any of that because I only got a Brazilian). But from my experience, it does NOT hurt less on your vagina. I will definitely be going back to the hard blue wax. We didn't even finish my Brazilian sugaring because I couldn't handle it anymore. I guess I'm more upset with the fact that she must have known that she tore me, but she didn't say anything. She had another client waiting and I felt kinda rushed out. I'm super bummed because I thought this was going to be my new spot for sugaring, brow shaping, spray tanning, etc...but I'm still really upset with how my sugaring session went. Evelyn was nice and I don't think she meant to injure me, but she definitely did. I'm giving two stars because I just can't justify any more, given what happened. read more

I went in for a lash refill from an outside salon- I had previously gotten classic lashes done at a place in center city Philadelphia and wasn't super happy with the results. My previous lash tech had applied lashes that were the same length (and WAY too long) along my entire eye, giving them very little shape. Evelyn took her time to work around the classic lashes I had remaining, while giving me the hybrid lash look that I was going for. She tapered the shape so seamlessly and I couldn't be more in love! But More importantly the professionalism, experience,and knowledge of Evelyn made my experience phenomenal. She was very thorough with instructions to give me the best tan possible.
