I've been to the Hemisfair location, but this original location was really fun, smaller/more cozy and had a nice outdoor space. Some lounge style seating and regular tables. We had such a horrible time with Isabel taking our orders and then delivering them to the table. I am not sure if she was having a personal issue, but I ran it to her at the ladies' RR area, and she was on the phone. Finally, after I returned to the table, the drinks had not arrived. Christine noticed that we were looking for our drinks, and she ran them out to us. After dinner and drinks, we received our bill. Three separate bills. Two of the bills had a $10.00 service charge on them. We have never had a service charge before. The third bill did not have the charge. If this is regular business, I think that the establishment needs to make a disclaimer about the charge. Sad day at Bombay Bicycle Club!

Friendly, welcoming, professional. She made sure we had everything we needed, food and drinks, and she was always checking up on us. Her hospitality was the absolute best. What really stood out was what she did when she wasn't at our table. She was taking care of everybody else in the place too, and doing the work that usually goes unnoticed. Cleaning, filling up the ice machine, keeping things running. I noticed. Kailee is the reason we had a 5-star experience Tuesday. Thank you, Kailee.

All issues were corrected immediately and she was super nice to my son. Food was really solid. Mozzarella bites were delicious, although only slightly lukewarm. Wife had the Backyard Salad (be wary if you don't like spice, it's got a slight kick) and I ended up eating half of it because it's so good. My son had the smash burger with all veggies left off and the sauce on the side. Happy to report they got it correct. I had the cheesesteak. It was very, very good. I love when they have cheez whiz on them and this has queso so it's just as good. Bravo. Guinness pour was subpar but that's ok. I'll go to The Cottage if I want a good pour. They were out of two of the beers I wanted what the manager came over and apologized immediately. The third beer I did order was on tap. Ambiance is standard "backyard bar" feel. Music on the speakers and lots of TVs. We were here for the England vs Panama World Cup match and they switched our TV to the match without issue. We will be back and will be requesting Cara when we do. Great place to watch a match!

WOW. Just... WOW. If…read moreI could eat brunch here every morning without my bank account filing a complaint, I absolutely would. This place has officially earned a spot in my Top 5 brunch restaurants. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm, welcoming, and felt like you were visiting family. Our server had the best sense of humor, kept us laughing, was genuinely conversational, and made us feel right at home. Great service like that is hard to find. Now let's talk about the food... because WOW. The catfish was perfectly seasoned, hot, crispy, and cooked to perfection. The shrimp and grits were packed with flavor, and the Red Velvet French Toast? Somebody needs to protect that recipe at all costs! The red velvet was unbelievably soft, rich without being too heavy, and every bite was better than the last. We also ordered bacon, sausage, and sampled the juices--which were all fresh and delicious. The coffee? Strong enough to wake up your ancestors, just the way I like it! One warning: come hungry! The portions are HUGE. We ordered what felt like the entire menu and still had leftovers. I already can't wait to come back and try lunch because if brunch is this incredible, I know lunch is going to be amazing too. Five stars isn't enough. If Yelp let me give this place 10 stars, I would. See y'all again very soon!

The smoked mac and cheese was also incredible and packed with flavor. The space is super clean, gives off nice vibes, and the staff were very friendly. That said, the service was a bit slow, which was a little frustrating given the mandatory fees. They automatically add a 20% auto-gratuity to the bill no matter how small your party is, but the staff didn't mention it upfront and they still ask for an extra tip on top when paying with card. Also, be aware they don't do tap water, they only sell $3 water bottles. Overall, the food is totally worth it, just make sure to double check your bill before adding an extra tip!

What a delightful find! Walking up to Liberty Bar's hard-to-miss pink building, I was awestruck by…read moreits late-1800s architecture. A little internet surfing revealed its fun history of being a bohemian gathering place, a home for nuns, and now a local culinary staple. The tall, narrow building and compartmentalized floor plan made it feel like an eclectic old home repurposed. The restaurant is on the second floor, accessible by a charming staircase or a little elevator. Before going upstairs, I noticed there is a bar and what looks like an art studio on the first floor. It gave cute, vintage bohemian/old world European vibes. We were seated quickly at arguably the best table in the house, right by a window overlooking the street and cacti. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable--so, I trustingly took his recommendations. We started with the bread and butter; there were four slices of toasted sourdough and a pad of rosemary infused butter. As thin as the slices were, I thought it was going to be more like a crostini than a bread but, much to my surprise, it still had a delightful chew. The butter was spreadable, salted perfectly, and the rosemary aroma was just right. My friend ordered the salmon and I ordered the lamb burger and both were different experiences. The lamb was juicy and well seasoned, while the fries were crispy, herby, and not greasy at all. As a slow eater, I was particularly impressed that the bottom bun maintained its structural integrity--no soggy buns here! The highlight was the chili morita aioli. Whichever chef created that pairing knew exactly what they were doing (bravo!). My friend's assessment of his salmon entree--was that it was very well cooked and the salmon was tender and moist, however, it did lack some flavor. The saving grace for him were the cocktails. He ordered the Gigi and the Beargrass and both received his stamp of approval for presentation and taste. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and fascinating history, Liberty Bar made quite the impression on me. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu and the building's story!

If you're looking for ambiance, this place is a 10/10. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the setting. The staff seemed completely disengaged. The bartender spent much of my visit sitting at the end of the bar sketching while service moved at a very slow pace. At one point, two people who appeared to be managers or senior staff came to the bar, spoke quietly with the bartender while repeatedly looking in my direction, and it made for an uncomfortable experience while I was filming a quick TikTok. I ordered the chilaquiles and found them surprisingly bland. I had to ask for hot sauce, and the only options were Tabasco or Cholula. In a city with such incredible Mexican food, I was hoping for something with a little more flavor or a house-made salsa. On the positive side, the Bloody Mary was very good--I'd happily order it again. Overall: * Ambiance: 10/10 * Bloody Mary: 8/10 * Food: 5/10 * Service: 2/10 I don't regret stopping in because the building is gorgeous, but I left wishing the hospitality and food lived up to the setting.
