There is no standard for good bbq in Southern Colorado. I don't know why I still try these places. This place is clean and covered in store bought country clichés. Tall booths on the sides of the place create a nice semi private dinning experience. Though the whole time we were eating the person who took our order was listening in on our dinning experience, there was no one else to take an order from. I tried the pulled pork one of their two top sellers. It wasn't horrible. I actually preferred their mustard bbq sauce, not my norm go to sauce. The chicken my wife had was a disgusting color. Part of the breast meat tasted a bit under cooked. Neither of our orders were what I would expect temperature wise (a little on the cold side). The pulled pork was double the price I'd expect per pound. My side of beans was not worth ordering. Wife's coleslaw had jalapeños in it. WTF?

I was told by a long time resident it would be hard to find good barbecue in Colorado. I need to introduce them to Broken Bones. This small restaurant tucked into the corner of a nondescript strip mall was a find. I ordered the two meat basket with pulled pork and two pork ribs. The ribs were cut with precision and tender. The pulled pork was juicy. My only complaint is that they have you add the sauce from a selection of four at your table. All the sauces were flavorful, and most people may enjoy doing it that way. I would, however, prefer to have my meat cooked with the sauce because it would add more flavor throughout. The restaurant offers only one dessert, apple cobbler, which I didn't order. Seating is very limited so coming at non-peak hours would be advised if you'd like to dine in. Nothing fancy at Broken Bones, and the prices are reasonable, and the counter order service was friendly. Just good ole barbecue.

I love their BBQ. Portions are small and I wish they made their beans in house, but besides that, very good.

Delicious Slow cooked meat, a little pricey but worth the price. Plenty of side options make for a good meal!

I found the hickory to be the best one! Also it won't let you add toast online but we ordered some in store at pickup. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was so tender and the coleslaw paired so well! I at the sandwich so quickly. We also ordered the brisket, burnt ends and jalapeño sausage to share, the burnt ends were by far the best! They fell apart easily and the taste was beyond amazing! The sausage was dry and over cooked but the brisket was moist and delicious! I'd easily get the burnt ends every time. We got 3 sides Mac n cheese, steak fries and baked beans. The Mac n cheese was perfect, creamy and rich. The steak fries were just the right amount of crispy but soft in the middle. But we were not impressed with the baked beans. Overall the food was amazing, I recommend the pulled pork sandwich and burnt ends! The price really wasn't bad either, fed three of us and we had leftovers. We will definitely be back!

This is the rib portion you get with a two meat plate. Incase the ramekin size is deceiving, that's about the size of three quarters.

The rolls alone are worth a visit due to their light fluffy texture, but be aware they are just a smidgen too sweet! We had the ribs, pork chop, chicken critters basket, and I myself was content going with just a couple sides: mashed potatoes and some veggies which consisted of yummy broccoli and carrots. Not baby carrots!!! Yay! They were cooked well and still had some crunch; no soggy watery overdone vegetables here! I also had a glass of their crisp sauv blanc. Highly recommend! It was busy and bustling, and the country music playing overhead was not too loud at all. Overall a nice spirited ambiance. We were paid a visit by the manager. A nice touch. I will definitely be back to sample some of their appetizers, other wines, or maybe a fun cocktail.
