We ordered some BBQ for pickup, it was hard to pick because it all sounded so good! We didn't know what sauce to pick, they were kind and gave us plenty of each! I found the hickory to be the best one! Also it won't let you add toast online but we ordered some in store at pickup. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was so tender and the coleslaw paired so well! I at the sandwich so quickly. We also ordered the brisket, burnt ends and jalapeño sausage to share, the burnt ends were by far the best! They fell apart easily and the taste was beyond amazing! The sausage was dry and over cooked but the brisket was moist and delicious! I'd easily get the burnt ends every time. We got 3 sides Mac n cheese, steak fries and baked beans. The Mac n cheese was perfect, creamy and rich. The steak fries were just the right amount of crispy but soft in the middle. But we were not impressed with the baked beans. Overall the food was amazing, I recommend the pulled pork sandwich and burnt ends! The price really wasn't bad either, fed three of us and we had leftovers. We will definitely be back! read more

I tried to place a delivery order. Broken Bones seems to have a solid menu. Unfortunately, they decided to set a limit of $100 on Door Dash. Given that I have an average sized family and BBQ is expensive, this seems like a very low and arbitrary limit. Guess they would prefer larger orders go to a competitor. read more

Stopped in at Broken Bones BBQ today and learned that they are going out of business (last day is Friday 11/21). This neighborhood BBQ restaurant will be missed her and in Monument. We have been ordering from them for several years and this is the only BBQ place on the far north end of Colorado Springs. Thanks for all the great BBQ, ya'll will be missed. read more

We had this at a catered event tonight in Larkspur and we really enjoyed the Bbq and level of service provided! The brisket was smoked just right, pulled pork delicious, and smoked turkey great as well! All 3 sides: Green beans/baked beans/ and mash were excellent! Thank you! We will have to make a point to stop in when in monument. read more

Excellent brisket, excellent fries, really good green beans, and barbecue sauce sauces. Come and support this business.!

I used to love this place! They were so good and cared about your bbq. Now it seems like they've really lost it. I just ordered a pound of burnt ends and they looked awful. They aren't burned at all, and they just sourced them in sauce. The last time I had them they were a little crispy and actually a little burnt and perfect. Its honeslty looks like canned meat. read more

Broken Bones BBQ is delicious. I have been here a dozen times or so and also had their catering. A few of my favorites include their brisket, the Turkey and jalapeño cheddar tots. Their baked potatoes, potato salad and okra also make my list. I make a point to swing in for some tots even if I'm headed out of town in a hurry. Go give them some love; this family run business is worth your patronage. read more

Every year for my birthday I have bbq for dinner. This year we were going to go to Front Range BBQ but they are not open on Tuesday's so I picked Broken Bones. I should have waited until Wednesday to go to Front Range. I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm am soooo tired of shitty service. The cashier had the most stank attitude I have encountered in a while. She told us she was going to be cleaning g the dinning room because they stop taking done ins soon and we were like okay. She the. Was like well what do you want? We were like we have not been here before and she was like well there's the menu do you know what you want? Whoa! I said we don't have to come here again and she just stared at us with this super stank face. We should have left then but we made the trip here so let's try the food. I ordered the 3 meat plate with burnt ends, chicken, and ribs with fries and Texas toast. So fries were under cooked how?! How does that happen??? And as you can see in the picture the basket was full of oil, how??? From what??? The burnt ends were pretty dry so not from those. Ribs can't really be oily. The chicken? Hmmmm I've never had oily bbq chicken. While we were eating another couple came in and that stank cashier told them the dinning room was closing so they left. After they left we heard her telling someone in the back....yeah I told them we're closing so they need to go somewhere else haha. Wtf?!!!So over all my bday dinner was a bust. I would NEVER suggest this place and the cashier should be ashamed of herself. read more

We are looking for awesome BBQ in the Springs area and were hopeful this restaurant would be our new go-to for BBQ away from home. Overall, I would eat here again but I am also interested in comparing this location to the other one in Monument. I ordered the 2 Meat Plate with Pulled Pork and Brisket (all meats here are Gluten Free). The Pulled Pork had a soft texture to it that felt more like eating pulled chicken and little to no smoke flavor. The brisket was tender and pulled apart easily with a fork. It had a clear smoke ring and dark bark. The look and feel of the brisket did not match the taste. Again, I could not taste any smoke flavor, black pepper or salt. The side dish I ordered was the baked beans (Gluten free) and I asked to skip the bread (not Gluten free). The baked beans were by far the best thing I had. They had a smoky, sweet flavor in the sauce that was balanced by the savory texture and flavor of the beans. My husband ordered the 2 Meat Plate with Brisket and Spicy Sausage. His side item was fries (more like large potato wedges) and bread. When I asked him to describe his food he said "Meh.". He had the same opinion of the Brisket, the sausage had good flavor but not a lot of heat, the fries were under seasoned and the bread was a little too charred on one side and not charred enough on the other. read more

Triple B does an excellent job with the menu. We've ordered from here a couple of times and the food has been tasty , especially the baked beans, but also the meats. The cheese and jalapeño sausages were quite good with just enough heat to make it interesting: the twice baked brisket with burnt ends was also good but a bit too much sauce. We were also pleased with the pulled pork and chicken, and two of our party actually liked the smoked flavor of the latter the most. Onion rings were crispy and the sweet potato fries similar. The hickory and original sauces were both appreciated, but the former was the favorite. However, we've not yet tried the spicy one yet. Service is excellent. Very nice place to pick up grub on the way home. read more

I wrote a review about six months ago on their Monument location. I raved about the incredibly perfect beef brisket sandwich. Well, this location makes the exact same brisket sandwich, and that's a good thing. Again, very moist, smoky flavor and aroma. Nice amount of crust. Sauce on the side, as it should be. See the red band just under the surface of each slice? That's the smoke ring. It means that they know how to smoke brisket. Very generous with the amount of slices on the bun. I'll be back! read more

I have ate this place for the past yr. I got my family and friends hooked!! The Springs location is the BOMB DIGGITY!! Jen is so sweet and helpful when I order. It's so good that it has become an office thing to do on FRIDAYS!! My mom ordered a lab and it was like eating "Meat Pillows" the meat LITERALLY falls off the bone!!!!! It's sounding so good just writing about it makes me want to order some for lunch now and it ain't even FRIDAY!!! The jalapeño cheddar cheese tots, Mac n cheese, and okra are the best sides ever!! So friendly the staff and cooks. Also the JERK sauce is back!!! Omg how did I got about the wings (dry rub) crispy and they smell so good when I warm them up. Makes me feel like I'm walking in to Broken Bones to pick y my food. The restaurant has good music always playing!! LOVE ME SOME BROKEN BONES!!!! read more

Just ok for a BBQ. We both had brisket sandwich (on a roll-a plus over Rudy's). I also had baked beans, ok but I could make them at home. Jalapeño tater tots are very good and worth coming back for. The big issue why Broken Bones got a 3 rather then 4 was an issue with BBQ squirt sauce bottle. The caps on a few of them had dried product plugging the hole. When my husband squirted some on to his plate, the plug came out on his jacket, shirt, hand, and table. Rated D- for cleanliness. :( read more

Do I recommend this business? Hell yes.!!! Run, don't walk! Outstanding bbq:) I had the 2 meat plate w ribs and brisket. I tried each of 5 choices of bbq sauce at the table, all great but my fave was hickory. The meat, melted in my mouth, juicy, so tender, so perfect with flavors on my tongue! ...And we just came in to try a new place! Plus, I had the coleslaw which had an additional savory that turned out to be dill, fantastic. Not sweet, do not like overly sweet Cole slaw. I would get the Cole slaw as an entree lunch salad item because it stands alone! My son had the burnt ends bowl and he kept using great obscenities with each bite and saying it was SOO unbelievably GOOD! It is modest decor, great for fams, good for second dates and going forward, Uber clean, friendly staff, solid bbq talent, and very reasonable cost! Two thumbs up. It will not disappoint ! read more

Well, I have been quite a few times in the past and it always seems about the same. I get fatty pulled pork with a potato, and quite watery, tasteless. Service is always good and the people working are friendly. I really want to enjoy this place but it's small quantities and quite pricey with not much flavor. I think I'll try another year from now and see if anything changes. read more

Overpriced. BBQ traditionally has roots in being an affordable and accessible meal, but this is trying to be trendy and the prices show it. The high prices don't make the food better. The brisket has been consistently too fatty to the point I feel cheated. The menu over the register doesn't have prices so beware, it adds up fast here. read more

Just not good anymore. Been going there for years, today was the last time I will darken their doorstep. Had watery(?) pulled pork and bone dry brisket, and beans that must have come from a can. We just cannot say enough about the outstanding quality of this barbeque! Broken Bones Barbeque has the absolute BEST smoked turkey breast we have ever eaten (and we come from Texas, so that is saying a lot!). We had some friends introduce us to Broken Bones and we're not disappointed. Not sure what happened to the photos I thought I took but I wanted to leave a review either way. I got the open faced twice cooked Brisket Burnt ends and they were delicious. Perfectly cooked and would absolutely enjoy them again. We also got the fried okra, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. All were excellent and with good portion sizes across the board. Prices were not out of the normal scope of other near by BBQ joints and honestly looked to be more inexpensive per pound for those party orders. Worth checking out, and their sauces were perfect for any taste! read more

Great service and great food! Ordered the brisket and a side salad. Brisket had some beautiful bark on it and a nice amount of fat, didn't even need the sauces! I would definitely go back! read more

Updating this review. We have gone back many times. Ordered food the the office ( which they devoured). We have had consistently good BBQ, good service, the place is always clean. Always plenty of food. If you Think the place that starts with a D ( as a matter of fact it had to shit down locations in the south) Is better you obviously don't know good BBQ. Yes, Broken Bones still gets 5 stars from us especially since we have tried plenty of BBQ and far too many are dry, tasteless. Not here. read more

4 Jul 20 - ordered take out for the first time from this barbecue place. Good thing we called around 3:15 pm because they informed us that they were closing at 4:00 pm. Our food was ready when we got there. My husband and I got the two meat meal. I had the ribs, sliced brisket and potato salad and my husband got the sausage, pulled pork and baked beans. We got Texas toast instead of buns and the sweet barbecue sauce. Everything was delicious and both the brisket and ribs were so tender. My husband said his meal was also delicious. Even though we live in Briargate we certainly do not mind driving to Voyager to pick up food from this barbecue place. Highly recommend Broken Bones when you want barbecue food! read more

Been here a few times just to make sure it was as bad as the first few. Grease, grease, grease. Kids who work in the kitchen don't know how to properly measure meat weights. Very disappointing. Dickey's and Front Range BBQ are far better options for what you pay for. read more

I had high hopes because this is so close to my home but it was a huge let down. When I come to a bbq place I expect the bbq to be the star but the brisket was cold, tough, dry and not flavorful at all. The fried okra was delicious and hot. May have gotten 3 stars but there's no pricing on the menu. It's taped to a tiny piece of paper on the counter that I didn't even see until after ordering. read more

I'm so disappointed. My husband brought home takeout. The first thing I noticed was the missing Texas toast. Then I noticed the giant ball of fat in the pulled pork (see photo). And on to the overly crunchy okra... ugh. The Mac and cheese was very chewy (over baked..idk?). Honestly the only positives were the brisket (a bit dry but tender and flavorful) and the jalapeño cheddar tots were good too. read more

I ordered delivery from here but I wonder if they would've stacked the plates a little more had we ate there in person. I felt like the portions were a little small on the meat. Overall from what I tasted. The brisket was great and moist. I didn't like how charred my cheddar jalapeño sausage was. I'll definitely pass on that one next time. The potato salad had no flavor to it which was a little disappointing since I usually love potato salad. The Mac and cheese was amazing! Definitely the highlight of my meal. I also liked the jalapeño cheddar tots. The "Texas Toast" was kinda soggy and needed to be toasted more and have butter added. As for the sauces, I didn't care for the original but the hickory was delicious! I'll definitely come back and tweak my order a bit. No doubt I'm definitely ordering brisket and Mac and Cheese from here again! read more

We have bought from here... today, Horrible! Potato salad was wet and gross! The Okra was at the bottom of the bag, greasy, mushy! The sausage old and cold. The brisket was ok, but was black on the bottom of pieces. Hit and miss here! Too expensive to have terrible meal! We will not be back! About $80. Dollars for disgusting food. read more

Man I wanted to love this place. I really did. I'm a huge BBQ fan, lived in Texas for awhile and being here I just got sick of going down to Rudys for decent BBQ. So I figured I'd give this place a shot. Now they just opened this location apparently so I'll cut them a little slack. But that's all I'm cutting them. I went with the good old staples, two meat plate and some fried Okra. Tried the brisket and the ribs. I could of cooked something with more flavor in a crockpot turned on high for 10 hours on accident. No flavor, no smoke, no taste. I don't even mind a moist brisket, but it was just a pile of fat and gristle. It was gross and in all honesty, I gave most of it to my dog. For the record, my dog loved it.... Ribs - the ribs weren't awful. I'll give them that. Little bit of flavor. They were clearly smoked which was nice. Unfortunately I think they were probably smoked a day or two ago and then put under a heat lamp or something. The texture was pretty close to jerky. And the portion...I'll let the picture speak for itself. It was about the side of half a dollar bill. Okra - I'll be damned. The okra was good, loved it. Cooked well, little salty which was unexpected but I liked it! Okra was the star. Bbq sauce - I have probably 10 bottles of BBQ sauce in my fridge. It's my favorite condiment and I try to acquire it like my friends do wine. So when I go to a new place like this, I (probably very annoyingly) ask them for one of every sauce they have. Turns out they have five or six. Awesome - is what I thought. They didn't have a single sauce that I even found worthy to dip a piece of fried okra in. And I tried all of them multiple times. I ended up throwing all 5-6 out and grabbing a bottle of Rudys. I gave this place two stars because one star didn't seem fair because the device was lovely, ambiance was fine (though I got the food to go), and they are new. If this place stops sucking I'll update the review. But in all honesty, that's the worst $12 meal I've had in 2017. Last note: its BBQ. You should serve beer. It's like having a cheese restaurant without serving wine. It's weird. I'll be back. One final time. Might give em a few months though. read more

What a pleasure to discover a bbq place on the north side of the Springs. Before this we had to drive down to Rudy's for bbq. Now north side or south side does not matter because we have found a great place on each side of town. Today at Broken Bones we had the brisket sandwich. The smoked brisket was tender and juicy. The side we selected this time was the french fries. So the question with any restaurant would we return? In this case it's a resounding yes. A great find on the north side of town! read more

First off, my review is for the two sides I picked up to go with dinner I cooked. I'm a pretty good cook, so I thought these sides would save me some time and mess on Father's Day. I ordered their Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans. $10.00 for two probably 10 ounce cups of each. They're not good...The mac and cheese looked like Stouffer's, but not nearly as good. The beans, obviously canned, with HUGE chunks of onion and giant chunks of green peppers... Their knife skills need some SERIOUS improvement. How can any self respecting BBQ joint serve frozen Mac n Cheese (ick, it was so bad) and sad beans, too? The "cook" kept rubbing his hands through his hair (no hair net/hat, just a ton of curly hair) and on his face. That always grosses me out and, you guessed it, there was hair in the food, too. Two stars for the nice gal who took my order, she was very sweet. And no stars for the snotty one who was interrupting our conversation. Whomever owns this place lose the curly haired face toucher and for all things holy, LEARN TO MAKE SOME GOOD BAKED BEANS & MAC N CHEESE. You could even contact me if you need some help with that. read more
