I have had Sam come out for a few different fixes for our Hunter Douglas blinds. Now he will be out to install an operational cord for our Duette blinds when he returns from an out of town trip. We have Hunter Douglass Pirouette blinds. They were on our windows when we moved in. Over the two years we have lived here , they weakened and became skewed and out of whack. I tracked down the company that had installed them, and they recommended Sam, from Broken Blinds. He is completely professional. Came with his ladder and all equipment he needed. He diagnosed our issues and even suggested a more permanent fix ( and ultimately less expensive fix) versus the twenty batteries on each of 13 blinds! He also renumbered them as they were oddly numbered on the remote control . Straightened them all out by redistributing small weights at the bottom . He also ordered a charger for us that arrived right on time. I cannot say enough about this experience. We knew we were in the hands of a pro from start to finish . I had a 16-year old Graber 2" blind that did not lower after the window panes were recently replaced. Since the blind was old, Sam even suggested that I look into getting a new blind. The window configuration is a corner one, so getting a new blind would have involved the replacement of 2 blinds, so I kept my appointment with Sam. Sam determined that a cord in the header rail had come loose after the blind was removed for the windowpane replacement. He realigned the cord and the blind now lowers. He even aligned the valance so that it meets perfectly in the corner. (The original installer had just taped the valance so that it would meet in the corner.) Sam's communication is excellent and he's so polite. He calls to confirm the appointment. He called to notify us that he was running late. He called again before arriving. Sam was referred my a local blind store. I called and he gave me an estimate of replacing the cords and putting a plastic pull on 10 blinds at $ 55.00 per blind. When he came he didn't seem to remember what we needed and said he had to order the pulls. He left. He called a few weeks later to say he had the pulls. He came over put a new pull on all blinds. He only replaced the cords on one of blinds even though I had told him I wanted to replace all because they were twenty years old and thought they might break. He then charged me $ 55.00 per every blind even for the ones he did not replace the cord another $ 55 for the blind he replaced the cord and a house call. Since he left three of the blind cords have broken that I had wanted to replace and he do not. Be sure you have everything in writing before you commit. read more

I telephoned Broken Blinds to schedule an appointment to repair my Hunter-Douglas Silhouette blinds. Sam promptly answered the telephone and listened carefully to my description of the problem. Then, he asked me to send some photographs of the broken Hunter-Douglas blinds so that he could evaluate the problem in more detail by "seeing" the blinds in the photographs, As soon as Sam diagnosed the problem with the blinds, he scheduled an appointment to perform the required blind repairs in my home. Sam at Broken Blinds helped us recently with a large, heavy Hunter Douglas blind that wouldn't open and close properly. He made the initial repairs, but the replacement parts didn't work properly and the problem quickly occurred again. (To be clear, this was NOT his fault.). Hunter Douglas is the worst shade product anyone can purchase. Beware they are over priced and do not stand by there product, customer service is the worst. I purchased 16 window cover paid close to 8000.00 in 2013 and they are falling apart . When I tried to get customer service to help it was a joke they tried to pond me off on an Anaheim blind man who charge an arm and a leg per shade to come out. In the end of the day they did nothing to stand behind this crap product and I am sad to have to post this but I don't want anyone else to buy a product that is poorly made and has bad customer service that will not stand behind the junk they sell. My shades are horrible wrinkled the ropes are fraide and the fabric is rotting really. I hope this help someone who is like me remodeling the home with the best. Sam is such a nice guy and did a great job fixing wooden blinds in our bedroom around the holidays. I was surprised that he was able to come out the week of Christmas and not only that, was able to come out within an hour of my call. He took the blinds with him, repaired them and we were able to get them back right after New Year's. I am certain that we would have had them returned sooner, but the holidays got in the way. The cost was a bit higher than I imagined, but trying to find the same set of blinds to match the ones used throughout our home seemed a bit daunting. He offered some low cost alternatives and suggested getting paper blinds in the meantime (all of $5). Frankly, having our old blinds back and repaired was worth it.
