I love Disney Springs and so does my family!…read more We usually stop at Disney Springs for dinner and enjoy walking around shopping and taking in the sites and sounds of Disney. When we don't have a park day scheduled, this becomes our alternative park day and it hits the spot. Plenty of food, options, music, and all the Disney shopping you can handle.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Disney Springs, formerly Downtown Disney, has fallen out…read moreof favor with me a little bit. Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I find the whole experience much more exhausting than I remember. It's incredibly hot, and it feels like everything has been engineered around getting you to spend money. Want to sit down somewhere? It seems like you need to be eating, drinking, shopping, or otherwise spending money to have access to a comfortable place to sit. Sometimes I just want to sit for a few minutes, enjoy the scenery, people-watch, and take a break without having to buy something. I don't care what age you are. Sometimes you just need somewhere to sit. The food was decent, but honestly, I can find good food in plenty of other places without having to navigate the whole parking situation, walk through security, and then spend money every time I turn around. The constant retail focus and pressure to spend money just doesn't create a particularly relaxed environment for me anymore. What's funny is that I remember coming here when I was 27 and being completely blown away by it. Back then, I thought Downtown Disney was incredible. I even spent a few nights going to the clubs, and those nights were absolutely epic and fun. I have some great memories from that time. But today, the experience feels different to me. Everything seems so carefully designed to extract another dollar from you that it starts to feel almost mercenary. There's nothing wrong with a business wanting to make money, but when the commercial aspect becomes so noticeable that it affects your ability to simply relax and enjoy being there, it changes the experience. I think I've reached a point where I'd rather spend my time somewhere with a lower-stress atmosphere. I want to go somewhere, walk around, enjoy the scenery, sit down when I feel like it, and have a good time without constantly feeling like every basic comfort comes with a price tag. Maybe it's me getting older. Maybe it's Disney Springs changing. Maybe it's both. But these days, I'd rather spend my money somewhere that makes me feel like a guest instead of a walking wallet.

We looked at window covering options for our livingroom "Bay Window" for over a year. We were told…read moreby a friend about Budget Blinds and contacted Julia McAfee. Julia was very helpfull in selecting our choice of the plantation shutters. Our bay window is custom built and the blinds were built perectly to the window. The installers did an outstanding job !!. We highly recommend Julia and her team for your window blind needs. The name 'Budget' reflects an affordable price but does not reflect the personal and professional workmanship they gave us! We had an appointment for bind fittings for our vacation house in Edgewater, Florida today (August…read more7, 2018) at 2:30pm. We received a phone call around 11:30 on August 7 asking if we could make the appointment at 12:30 instead. We were unable to make the 12:30 appointment due to prior obligations and asked to keep the original time at 2:30. Budget Blinds then decided to cancel our 2:30 appointment for seemingly not wanting to wait around until 2:30 to complete the measurements and allow us to order blinds to be installed. We are not from the Central Florida area and are disappointed in how Budget Blinds handled their obligation to us as paying customers. Where we live, it is unheard of for a company to cancel an appointment and forego a paying customer. Seemy turning down business appears to be the Budget Blinds way and we will be sure to discuss this issue with the owners/representatives of the Budget Blinds company. We understand a desire to head home early (by pushing our appointment up two hours), however, Budget Blinds cutting their nose spite their face (losing a paying customer because we could not accommodate a change in appointment times) is not smart business and damages relationships in the community. Unfortunately, we will have to find another company to work with and wait for new blind for another year!
