Last month before my new job, I took a trip down to Orlando. I looked into dance classes as I have a committed passion for choreographed dance. It's not just a hobby, it's a way of life for me. It's something evryone should try out for a period in their life, dance class. I've never found a musical theater dance class so I planned to take the Tuesday one with Alyssa if I recall her name correctly. We did a song from Princess and the Frog. I have a newfound inspiration I didn't even know it was a thing until Orlando's very own musical theater dance classes! It was awesome. Packed class. Front desk had good customer service. They even record and upload their dances to their yt channel, something I do for my own yt channel for dance covers I do. Keep up the great work!! read more

Studio K and Yelp Orlando coordinated a virtual class that I participated in the other night. I truly had soo much fun and give tons of props to our amazing instructor that evening, Elise. She broke down all the moves for us and was very patient and ensured we all understood her instructions. She made sure to check in with us at multiple points through the class to see how we were feeling and that we were having fun!! There's no doubt that each and everyone one of us had sooo much fun sweating, laughing and dancing our butts off at home. I was excited to get to participate in a virtual class from Studio K during COVID-19. Our instructor, Elise, taught us the viral Magic in the Hamptons Tik Tok dance via Zoom. I enjoy dancing, but I'm definitely not particularly talented and tend to be clumsy in general. I'd watched this dance online before the event and never thought I'd get the hang of it. Elise proved me wrong! She was a patient instructor, and worked us through the dance in small stages. She took the time to ask us which moves we were struggling with and then worked us through them step by step. I've always admired those that teach dance because of their patience and dedication for helping others enjoy the art. Elise took it to the next level by doing it in a virtual setting which is much more challenging than face to face. I definitely want to check out Studio K in person when it's safe to do so! read more

I decided to bring my young adults meetup group to Studio K this week for the Lightsaber fitness class. I personally think they should rename it to Lightsaber Choreography class, as that's much more of what it is. When we arrived the staff was immediately friendly and we paid for our class. While we were waiting there a drumming dance class going on. It looked like a ton of fun! I think next time we may try that as well. The lightsaber instructor was very friendly and went over everything in a logical manner. For those who didn't bring their lightsabers, plastic ones were provided. I wish that the free rental ones would light up however. Thankfully I brought my own light up one which made it a much cooler experience. Having a light up lightsaber really changes the feel and adds to the dynamic. I wish that the instructor had played Star Wars music during our final 2 fights, and during the more advance class demo. I think even having Star Wars music gently playing in the background during the class would really add to the atmosphere. In our first class we learned defense, offense hits, moving to attack/defend. It was pretty easy to learn fast and was fun once you got the hang of it. Overall we had an amazing time and it was worth the $10.00. I personally wish the class was 1.5 hours as it was a long drive for us to come down. However maybe next time we will do the drum class, then the lightsaber class to make the drive more worth while. The studio wasn't as huge as I pictured but was still roomy. The lights create a very relaxing atmosphere and it was just a fun time. read more

Friendly service and didn't feel judged. Membership price sounds very good for unlimited classes. Membership is only $50 a month for a year and then you Renew it after the year is over if you want. No pressure to be a member always worth just dropping in for a $10 a class or $15 for a workshop a few times first. read more

I absolutely love this studio! I grew up in a dance studio and it was a huge part of my life until I graduated high school. Several years later I'm finally making dance a priority again thanks to Studio K. I always feel that the material is the appropriate level of challenging and the instructors are able to make modifications if something is too hard for you. The studio has beautiful and relaxing lighting which is very different compared to other studios I have been to and really sets the tone that this is a welcoming place. I have never once felt that I was not skinny enough or pretty enough to be here (and sadly I have had that experience at many other studios). Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly, you really do feel that you belong. I did have an issue once with one of the classes in the past and I emailed the owner who got back to me and took care of the situation right away. She was overly generous with her compensation and sincerely apologised for what happened. She is an amazing and kind woman who really cares and goes above and beyond for her clients. read more

Great studio with fun programs and a great venue. My only issue is that the instructors do not have microphones so it is really hard to hear any instructions from the back of the crowd. But they have a nice subscription package of 10 classes and if you are a cast member you get a further discount! The music chosen is also great, I just wish that I could hear more when dancing, especially when there are a lot of people in the classes. I have only taken class from Studio K virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. One major silver linings in all of this, is that I have been able to take dance classes from all over the country. I am a trained dancer and also teach dance, so I tend to have a hard time staying interested in "dance fitness" type classes. I had the pleasure of taking one Studio K class when Yelp Orlando partnered with them for a TikTok tutorial class. It was held over zoom and instructed by Elise. She was so fun, and really made sure the class flowed well. We did a fun warm-up, a bit of stretching and then went right into the dance. I can't say enough good things about Studio K! The minute you walk in, you are warmly greeted by the owner and her sweet puppy and you immediately feel like family. I love that you can take classes here that you can't find anywhere else; my favorites are African, Ballet Pop and Rock and Box. I absolutely LOVED this place! My friend has been trying to get me to come by and try it out, but life got in the way. Trust me, the classes here are worth taking extra time out of your schedule. I recently attended the Yelp event for Studio K. We did hot hula, lightsaber fitness AND Zumba in one class. My legs are still sore...but again, worth it! Also, hula may sound relaxing and not much of a workout, but let me tell you it owned me. My goodness! It was intense! We met Kristin (en)? the owner. She was absolutely lovely and shared her story with us. Turns out, several years ago, she needed to exercise for health reasons and quickly realized that there wasn't a dance studio for adults of all levels. She wanted to create a place where ANYONE can come and enjoy a dance class and get great exercise while doing it. The space is beautiful, well maintained and very clean. They offer everything from hot hula to musical theater to tap. I cannot wait to go back and try out some of the other classes. This place is definitely a no-judgement zone and feels like a community. Few tips - It's on the second floor of a shared building space. You'll go up the elaborate staircase (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it), and the studio will be the first door on the right. Need to change? There's a shared restroom on the second floor, but note, it is shared by the entire business area and not just the studio Parking is just in the open lot downstairs. We visited Study K a couple of times and this place is awesome! I attended a Hot Hula class and a PoundFit class. There is lots of space in the studio and I like that they have cubbies to put your items when you come to class. It's very easy, as you can pay for the class when you get there and there was discount packages for Hospitality employees. They also have water available to purchase as well. The owner and the instructors were all pleasant and informative. They have so many classes and events I wish I could attend more. They even have a light saber fitness class! If I could give less than one star, I would. You only realize people's true nature when crisis hits. So, MOST PLACES IN AMERICA accommodated their business practices when a GLOBAL AND DEADLY PANDEMIC hits. I had just signed up for a yearly contract right before everything hit. Due to the pandemic, my income and health insurance was put at risk. I let the lady who owns the studio know but also wanted to support local business and not terminate my contract because I liked the studio. Basically, the lady who owns the place kept sending me these cheery emails like "We are taking all of these precautions!" which to me translates as tone deaf white lady speak for "It's cool. Just come to dance class and risk your life. No biggie." Um. Watch the news. Desantis is in charge and FL is a dumpster fire garbage reflection of that. As is this lady, to be honest. Ugh. I'm so disgusted. So not only does this woman DO NOTHING substantial to accommodate her contracted students minus a couple of months putting payments on hold (I would have kept my contract had the studio offered zoom classes. I mean, it really isn't that hard. Zoom is free. But like, I'm not her business consultant and I'm not getting paid for that.) and she expects people to RISK THEIR LIVES to come to dance class, but she CHARGED ME THE FULL TERMINATION FEE OF 120.00 DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAVE LOST HOURS AND INCOME DUE TO POOR JOB PROTECTIONS. How fucking disgustingly classist and only looking out for herself. I approached her with the mindset of supporting local business. I didn't want to terminate my contract. I wanted her to acknowledge that it is NOT SAFE and that she should be innovative in how she runs her business, offering maybe a reduced termination fee or even holding our memberships with no charge until shit was safer or.. IDK.. OFFERING ZOOM CLASSES? LOL. How hard is that? Because I'm middle class, 120.00 isn't going to make it so I'm evicted, but this is the kinda shit that really screws so many people. FUCK THIS PLACE. I am going to put this studio on BLAST for the rest of the year to everyone I know with how unethical they are in the midst of Floridians dying. I hope this business dies. I have no experience in dance, but I've always been interested in learning and wanted to find a way to make dance a part of my life despite having a very busy career in veterinary medicine. Studio K is EXACTLY what I was searching for and it is absolutely amazing!! I was so excited to find a facility near me that offers a wide variety of adult dance classes and dance fitness classes for all experience levels that actually fits into my hectic schedule. As a beginner and naturally shy individual, I was really nervous about attending the dance classes. However, I soon learned I was my only critic. There has never been any feeling of judgement at Studio K. Even my husband has had fun joining in on some of the classes and he claims to have no rhythm at all. Kristen, the owner of the studio is one of the genuinely nicest people I have ever met in my entire life, she is extremely encouraging to all, and she greets everyone by name which I find extremely impressive. She has even reached out to me personally via phone and Facebook when she knows a class I usually take has changed. I've never received customer service that incredible at any gym (or really anywhere) in my entire life. Even during the pandemic (once gyms were allowed to reopen), I have felt extremely safe attending classes at the studio because of the detailed cleaning protocol in place and because of the natural social distancing and no-contact aspect of the classes. I feel much safer at the studio than I do at any other gym. This dance studio is truly a stand-out in the industry and having it in my life has improved my work-life balance and my health/fitness. I look forward to attending class each night and I am working hard to try to improve my dance ability with each class I take. I took the Rock n' Box class last night. I don't know the first thing about boxing but I learned a lot and I'm feeling it this morning... in a good way. The work out was really great and the instructor is beyond knowledgeable and kept me from feeling silly since I'm less than professional when it comes to boxing. I had been to Studio K several years ago and just went back to check out their brand new location. Absolutely amazing and beautiful place! The instructors are the best at their styles, and there are so many to choose from (something like 30 different styles of dance and fitness classes) so there is something for everyone, male or female. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the owner Kristen is usually there personally greeting everyone herself.
