I've been part of this dance family for about a year and 7 months. It's not an extremely long time, but certainly enough to have experienced what's at the core of this business and not just the superficial and trivial things. There was a period of fluctuations while changes in management and personnel took place, but it would honestly be unfair to focus a review on the one-off incidents rather than the AMAZING staff that works there. I have worked in one way or another with every instructor and they are fantastic, top-notch professionals. Their instructors follow a continued education/training regimen which guarantees that you'll be receiving the very best quality instruction. The management of a business is one thing (and something that the average person typically doesn't get involved with except for those one-off instances), but the actual EXPERIENCE that you receive at the place from those who provide the service, is unparalleled. It is a family! They are very caring, respectful, and understanding. I came to Arthur Murray Dance Centers in Clermont without any previous dance experience, at all! I was a fantastic chair dancer and I could wiggle my butt off while cleaning or cooking, but that's as far as it went. In my time at Arthur Murray, I've never been talked down to or made to feel insignificant. The instructors are very supportive of how far, how big and how fast you want to go. But to know this and to experience this, you have to actually spend some time there. Don't expect to get a good feel for a place if you walk out the door at the first chance you get. The cost is not cheap. That is true. But you get what you pay for and I see it as an INVESTMENT in myself. Dance is my therapy, and I'd rather pay for dance therapy than any of the other therapies, including physical therapy and medication, which did not help my chronic pain illness. I am glad that I gave Arthur Murray a chance, and I am happy to have stuck around long enough to see them overcome the bumps and grow into the cohesive and strong family they are. read more

I had a horrible experience with this dance studio. I bought a lesson package for around $500 in early October 2016 and my girlfriend and I took our first lesson soon thereafter. A week later my 20 yr old son died unexpectedly. In early November I received a call from the studio asking if I wanted to setup another lesson and I explained my situation and said I probably wouldn't feel like dancing again for awhile. I casually asked if I could get a refund on the balance of my package and I was told they don't offer refunds. Needless to say, I had bigger issues at the time than begging for a partial refund so I didn't press the issue. However, I just received their request for this YELP review so I thought I'd let everyone know what heartless bastards they were. read more

The staff are amazing and talented. My issue is price. Even with a pay up front discount we were taking basically 1k for 12 weeks. I would want my daughters in class an hour a day 5x a week (like swim team or track). With 2 daughters that would be about 2.5k a month. That's insane!! Even though I could pay it, there's no way I would. I think if your prices were reasonable a lot more kids [parents] would be interested. It would be cheaper for us to move to Argentina to put the girls' in classes daily. read more

Studio is larger than expected and great! The instructors and receptionist are so warm and welcoming! Classes were great and my fiancé and I loved that we can go at our own pace to learn together! My review is based on my 8-month and $25k experience 16 Aug.'21-11 April '22, which has turned-out to be the 2nd most disappointing experience in my life. Arthur Murray Clermont Dance Studio is a high-dollar franchise and lessons boil-down to an exorbitant $200+/hr. because each lesson is only 45 minutes AT BEST (30 min. if you are lucky), and the quality of instruction is sub-par because of all the annoying disruptions and interruptions including; changing music every 1.5 min., other instructors working simultaneously in very close proximity with other students doing different dances to different music, the often-malfunctioning low-quality sound system, etc. In addition, many of the instructors are very young, inexperienced, in-basic-training and seemed very focused on highly choreographed amateurish theatrical shows, most of which felt like meaningless humiliating but entertaining self-aggrandizing competitions. Interpersonal communication has been very poor. They were quite adept at cajoling me into inordinately expensive and unnecessary 'professional' evaluations, and other frivolous costly side-shows. I learned some basic steps, then they tried to lure me into choreographies which I can best describe as, 'artificial dance lessons'. The Arthur Murray syllabus is ancient, inordinately complicated, is excessively restrictive, not oriented for all social dances, etc. As a student, you are vulnerably submitting to a person of unknown character, abilities, emotional stability, and background in this franchise setting whereas a private indie studio usually has much tighter control over the integrity of their teachers. Unfortunately, I have some poignant experiences with instructors in this studio who treated me VERY unprofessionally and/or were professionally negligent and will not apologize or reimburse me for castigating abusive lessons. Instead, I got a curt letter from the owner apologizing 'for the way things turned out' and she forced me to leave by humiliating me in public for not dancing or leading correctly and otherwise effectively causing the abrupt/unseemly cancelation of my pre-paid dance program/contract/agreement, not because of any wrong-doing or default on my part, but this was apparently intentionally perpetrated solely for the convenience of the Arthur Murray Clermont Dance Center/Studio... The Arthur Murray Clermont Dance Center taught me some unforgettable and unforgivable dance lessons. I can't recall feeling so denigrated, violated and mortified. Bottom line, there is a huge difference between ballroom vs social dancing, and if you are interested in the latter, again, as most people are, this is without question not the best choice. Because of my experience, I definitely do NOT recommend the Arthur Murray Clermont Dance Studios. I strongly recommend you seek an independent instructor/indie studio. read more

When I first became a part of this dance studio I was thrilled. Did I learn how to dance? "yes". I have renewed my package several times but after a change in management it wasn't a good fit for me so I parted ways. I was always told that I was "part of their dance family". I guess this was a true statement as long as I paid $134 per class-which is the cost for each half hour session. This is very expensive and still I paid several thousands of dollars because it was Arthur Murray and we all know that's a well known name. I have bumped into some of the instructors and even the owner out in public and I'm not even acknowledged. I will have to say that this is something that makes me truly sad. Not only a bad business move but just not a necessary way of being and not what the true Arthur Murray name stands for. I wouldn't, sadly, recommend them. read more

We are a young couple and had never danced a day in our life but have been going for almost a year and a half since my Wife and I started taking regular ballroom classes at Arthur Murray. Caleb, Nick, Lina, Sam and the rest of the staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met and I would highly recommend this to singles or couples. Some other reviews have pointed out concerns around price and refunds, and all I want to say this experience is worth everything we've spent and everyone at the studio is extremely up front about their polices and pricing. read more
