First of all, my impression of the owner, Dyane Elkins IronWing, is a good one. She was quick to answer my email and clearly addressed all of my questions. She gave me a personal tour of the facility and I was impressed with what she has done for her business and the local community. Similar to other reviewers, I did not get the best impression of the receptionists. During my phone interactions and in-person interactions, both receptionists had poor attention to detail (I had to repeat myself a couple of times) and I felt like they were rushing me (off the phone and in person). As for the trial Ballet/Modern class, I would certainly return if it were at a more convenient time. Unfortunately, 8:45-9:45pm on a weeknight is too late for someone who enters the office at 7am; I embarrassed to say that I was yawning throughout the second half of class. As for Carla Armstrong, the instructor, I was extremely impressed with her kindness and ability to help me understand Modern (I have never liked Modern, and she made me more open to continuing her class). However, had I been someone who had never danced before, I would be intimidated by the speed of her ballet instruction. Fortunately for me, my experience dancing in high school was sufficient background. The biographies of the faculty are impressive, so I would imagine that this is a great school for the serious dancer. Unfortunately, I cannot offer the studio a higher rating until they offer a class at a more convenient time so I can better assess them. However, for those interested in dance lessons, you have nothing to lose in taking a trial class for free and making the decision for yourself.

Unfortunately, they are also trying to build a new location & pass the burden onto the parents. Just received an ugly Xmas time letter from head coach Bosack. Didn't pay the "fundraising fee", so the kids "won't get a present", "will be pulled from competition", and "previous funds will be forfeit". Parking is dreadful. They should consider what "lost revenue" for a year of students withdrawn from your program means to the business. Strong arming tactics may work in the gym, but not with customers.
