Kiddie Academy of Carrollwood

Kiddie Academy of Carrollwood

Why 5 stars? Because we will definitely miss taking our son here…read more --- --- --- As of this writing, our son is about 2.5 years old and had been going to Kiddie Academy since he was about 5 months. The only reason I say all of this in the past tense is because we just moved out of state. If not for that, we definitely would have kept him here indefinitely. Back when my wife was pregnant and we were touring all of the daycares in the area, we truly could not believe how expensive they were. Literally, the cost of daycare was the same as a monthly payment for a luxury sports car. Heck, it was even on par with my first mortgage. How does anyone afford this?! But fortunately, while still cheap by no means, Kiddie Academy was definitely the most affordable option in the area. And as first time parents, we *immediately* learned that not only was tuition worth it, but we were probably under-paying. Being able to leave our son in the hands of these lovely people for up to 50 hours a week was invaluably helpful for two working parents. We knew he was in great hands and we knew he was having a lot more fun at school than he would have been at home with us. If you're in the Carrollwood/Northdale area, be sure to stop by for a tour here before you decide on visiting another school. We are excited for our new adventure but sad for our son to leave his first group of best friends. This is my last review of a Tampa Bay business. I wanted to save a place that was incredibly important to us for my last review, and there was no place more crucial to our family than Kiddie Academy over the last two years. Now, it's off to writing about a million businesses in the Houston area!

After visiting many Tampa daycares, hands down, Kiddie Academy is the right choice. They offer…read moreeverything from Infant Daycare to AfterSchool programs. Very clean and structured school. My son and I have been going here for almost 2 years now and am honestly sad to leave this wonderful school. The setup is amazing, with individual class rooms to get the kids set up for Elementary And they keep you updated throughout the day with pictures and even send home notes to your email. The summer camp is also great, offering field trips and themed days to keep the kids busy and active. I would highly recommend this place.

We love the Montessori's individual approach to teaching and our children have thrived. Mrs. Linda and Mrs. Carol are excellent teachers and have made outstanding progress with both children. Crystal, the school's new director (or associate director??), has been extremely helpful and is incredibly knowledgeable about the Montessori philosophy and methodologies, among other things :-) I would not hesitate in recommending The Montessori House.

At $14,000 a year, I expected a strong academic program, and that's not what we found. Class sizes…read moreare very large, and the teachers are visibly stretched thin. Many hold a Montessori certificate but no formal teaching credentials or education degree, and it shows in the consistency of instruction. Academics have been a real weakness. Many families, ours included, end up paying for private tutoring to fill gaps the school isn't addressing. Paying private-school tuition plus tutoring defeats the purpose.c The environment is pleasant and (some of) the staff clearly care, but caring isn't enough when they're overextended and under-supported. If you're considering Country Day Montessori, ask hard questions about student-to-teacher ratios, teacher qualifications, and academic outcomes, and talk to current parents about whether they're supplementing with tutors. Student turnover is very high.

Discovery Point Suncoast has exceeded our expectations in every way. The teachers are warm,…read moreattentive, and truly invested in each child's growth and well-being. The classrooms are clean, organized, and structured in a way that makes learning fun and engaging. Communication with families is excellent, and you can feel the positive culture the moment you walk in the door. Our child has grown academically, socially, and emotionally since enrolling, and we have complete peace of mind knowing they are in a safe, nurturing environment every day. We are so grateful to be part of the Discovery Point Suncoast family.

Wanted to like this daycare but ended up pulling out kid out. 1. The set menu for the full year is…read morenot it. There is a menu for one week then switches to something else then goes back to the same as the first week for the third if that makes sense, nope. The food that is given is not very nutritious ("mixed cereal"- lucky charms and other cereals just mixed together or just a cereal bar or maybe some crackers and cheese for breakfast) the portion size are quite sparse too from what we saw from drop off in morning. Then given a hour by hour break down of general what suppose to be happening in class. We as our child if they did prescribed activity they would more time than not say no. An every day when we would pick up our child would be plopping front of tv screen and teachers would be cleaning up so what ever they say in on the schedule for after 5pm is incorrect the teachers wouldn't be cleaning up if would actually going to go back and do something. The teachers communication was horrible would just post things on door or a wall and just Lt expect the parents to see it. The school doesn't involve the parents no parents teacher review few if any way for parents to be involved. Say they post pictures or thing to their Facebook page and rarely sow any there and or don't remember ever signing a consent form for our child's pictures to but posted up. Would not recommend.
