That alone tells you everything you need to know. When we first started, Logan was nervous and hesitant around the water, as you'd expect from a baby. Skyler had such a natural, confident way of reading the class and knowing exactly what to do to build his comfort level. She made it fun, she made it feel safe, and she made it something Logan genuinely looks forward to. We started here back in July 2023 and we have been attending there since. They have helped my daughter who's Level 3. My daughter was so afraid of being on her back and it took 2.5 weeks and she attended 2x a week last year and she has shown a lot of improvement since. They have very patient instructors here and very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Although I wish they had a better system of missing class, they only allow one time in a quarter I think to make up class. Kind of a bummer cause we missed some due to my daughter being sick ****Update**** My daughter has been here since July and we continued to enroll her here until I find another swim class that has better structure and consistency. Also, their make up classes are only slotted for 1x or was it 2x per quarter. If you miss cause you're heading out of town, or child get sick and already used your make up class, you're literally paying for something you're unable to use. They need a better structure on their make up classes. We pay a lot for it and things are unexpected, you're shit out of luck. read more

We are members of watermelon swim school for more than a year now. We missed a session and asked for a make up token. We have been told that we cannot get a makeup token. When we contacted earlier before missing a class they said you have to miss a session in order to get a make up token. When we missed they are saying we cannot issue a token since u missed. The message we are getting contradiction messages from the school. It's totally unacceptable and misleading. Totally irresponsible employees. read more

Living in a state surrounded by water, Watermelon swim is a great educational and survival based school that teaches children the basics while making it fun. Both my boys have enrolled at this swim school and there are great aspects to this facility. The pool, bathrooms and shower area are always clean and the staff are helpful and courteous. I think that the actual classes are lacking in some ways. One downfall is some instructors are leaps and bounds better than others. I also do not appreciate the constant changing of instructors as my son has a difficult time building trust with new people. However, if you can enroll with a great swim teacher, this faculty would be a great choice for your new swimmer. read more

Both my daughter and I enjoy our twice weekly Watermelon swim dates at the Wesley Chapel location! She began at 23 months old in level 1, and now she's in level 3. She swims with two different instructors, Ms. Skyler and Ms. Winter. She truly loves these ladies and runs to them with the biggest smiles! She even pretends to be them while playing in the bathtub lol! We've had anywhere from 1 to 4 kids in the class. I had no expectations regarding my little toddler's ability to wait her turn, but it was pretty remarkable every kid just knew and listened to the instructors. I can't hear everything they say, but they must really have great group teaching tactics! I appreciate when they get more stern if a child isn't listening. Last spring we did one on one ISR lessons M-Th for 6 weeks, and my daughter learned to survive in water but didn't enjoy the experience (can't blame her, I didn't either!). With watermelon swim, she's learning and having fun, and she's never been upset to go to class. Lastly, all the staff is friendly from speaking over the phone to in person communication. I can't say enough great things about this place. Ms Emma is amazing the way her face lights up when she sees my baby is so comforting to know how much she cares for the kids. She is an amazing instructor and has played a huge role in Leo's experience. Lizzy at the front desk is unreal as well, always greeting us remembering names and I cannot forget the times my little one was losing it at the beginning she would always stand with me to comfort me knowing how difficult that was for me. The whole front desk staff is amazing, I can't forget about Gabriel always with a big smile. Watermelon swim school will fall short for your expectations and the money you are investing in your child's swim lessons in a multitude of ways. Instructors great: Management is terrible. Our children have exclusively used this facility for learning how to swim on and off as seasons pushed us indoors, gone are the days where they really want you to put your child's well being first and be considerate to other fellow classmates well-being/instructor. If you child falls ill within more than once within a quarter regardless of whether you had sick visit with your ped with a note excusing them from school. The watermelon swim policy is now is 1 make-up token per quarter. Of course, this is at managerial discretion of whether or not they want grant you another token. For a parent who had two children at swimming at their establishment, with their recent increase in cost for group class (ranging anywhere from roughly $28-$30 per class, that is typically shared with 3 other paying swimmers depending on age level, 30 minute class divide that 4 kids your child at most, in a fully attended class is swimming 7.5 minutes), that means that any time both were sick at the same time and they had already been granted a makeup token, we were out $58 for that day. This is not a nominal amount of money, if it were it would be a non-issue. Granted, this matter only happened twice outside the parameters of what is allotted. But the fact that I had a particular one-one conversation with a manager, Kayla and she was unwilling to grant 1 additional makeup token to both children on a day where they both had recurring fevers beyond 48 hours with a doctors note in hand is telling of what type of operation they are interested in running. If they truly valued your child developing that skill and your child is unwell and should not be attending class for the safety of everyone, then their policy would granting makeup classes on a case by case basis. It wasn't like our child was out of town for a trip, but thank you for your robotic response of "regardless of whether your child attends the class or not, we have their spot saved for them". Yes, please keep reiterating that point to my face as I told you they were both ill. For any other extracurricular activity we are committed to, whether it be music, club gymnastics make-ups are given (but also must be used within their same billing period). There are other swimming programs that are in New Tampa area that available, you certainly won't feel a sting if you were to miss a class session due to illness. We were planning on returning in the fall but happily will be pursuing another option within our own community. Watermelon swim school could do better in a lot of areas, sensitivity training should definitely start with Kayla, changing room & bathroom up-keep between classes being another glaringly obvious issue that is given little to no attention at all, worrisome given how many managers sit in the back office at one given time. No one picks up the phone when the option is pressed for Wesley Chapel front desk, leave a message? Don't expect a call back for a day or two. No more proficient with responding to e-mails, expect replies within 1-3 business days or better yet, no reply at all. First and foremost, if you an actual family that is signed up with this established basically do not expect any sort of same day customer service, unless of course you have to actually are attending a swimming class that day. You'll be lucky if you find ONE person sitting at the front desk to assist guests with questions or level up class needs. See photos of all the wonderful hair clumps that can be found the flooring (that's only 2 hours after they opened) and good luck finding what should be clean surface to put down your child in between classes to change from regular clothing to swim wear, they'll be damp before you even get into the pool. What you should expect to find more likely is wet dirt ridden areas. If that is the upkeep of what you can see as a parent, I'd imagine the pool and the deck area is far more concerning. Do better Watermelon Swim on all fronts. read more

We love Wesley chapel watermelon swim. Our daughter has been going here 2 years and is a great swimmer now at 4 years of age. We continue to come once a week to keep her skills up and advance her swimming skills. I love that they go at the own kids pace. We have done ISR in the past and that was traumatizing to my child and she lost those skills about 2 weeks after finishing. Watermelon swim allows her to keep her skills up. Changing rooms smell and are dirty. I don't even want to put my child down. Toddler class has been interesting because when going there are many different ages of children and when one child is very upset and or fussy the whole class becomes about that child. My child can't focus or learn with a screaming child in class. They tried to get me to change my time and or date of class due to the child. their cancellation policy is ridiculous. read more

It's been a roller coaster my son started from zero and progress until the plateau and it's been in that plateau for more than two months, don't expect your child will advance as they advertise, no you require constant conversions with managers and teachers, this place has a horrendous personnel rotation and you will see many teachers leaving and new coming that don't know the levels, managers don't know the child's names and progress. Since there is no other place close to Wesley chapel,you have to continue here until the end if you need swimming classes and they know it. read more
