Disappointing. Live close to this location and wanted to support a local business, but after dinner here I must say that I won't be back. Food: Some dishes that you don't normally see at an Italian restaurant (Scallop Parm), but the flavor/texture/presentation aren't there. Scallops had a fishy taste in the scallop parm, shrimp had a rubbery texture in the shrimp scampi, and the chicken parm was more breading than chicken. Side spaghetti needed a lot of parm cheese. Bonus star for garlic bread, though wish there would be olive oil/balsamic vinegar on table vs provided on plate. Service: Lacking...took several minutes to be acknowledged, and server seemed disinterested. Items plopped down without much interaction. Water glasses empty until near end of meal when server came back and asked if we needed anything (water had been empty since before main entrees showed up). Other issues: Missing tableware and dirty forks - had to share bread plate with wife, and because we couldn't find our server, took clean forks from another table since ours had old food crusted on it. In closing, won't be back, and will have to stick to our go-to Italian restaurant of Scardino's in Torrance. read more

Been going to Brogino's for many years. As my daughter put it, this was the worst meal of her life. We sat next to a real obnoxious group of customers who were probably getting out of hand and pretty much ruined our dinner when each of the women were trying to be over the top...their male companions sat and stared the entire time... We ordered complete dinners which included soup and salad and the salad hadnt come yet after waiting over an hour. But according to the waitress, who I think, is probably the owner or a manager said that she really doubted that we had waited over an hour. I think everything really went south when one of the waitresses sat us down at a very small table, dropped the menus on the floor and instead of handing us menus she put the menus on our soup bowls. Who knows when the menus have ever been cleaned. Entrees started coming out, they served me the wrong dish and she started questioning me about what i ordered as if I didn't know the difference between cacciatore scallopini or parmigiana. Just put the food in front of me and expect me to pay for it.... When the replacement dish (combo of scallops and chicken parmagiana came in less than 5 minutes i was kind of concerned whether I really got the right serving size or they just gave me someone else's. The four scallops on my plate were really only two scallops cut in half. A small piece of chicken parm. The portion was embarrassingly small if it werent for the marinara sauce and cheese masking the serving size? Finally got a chance to try this place after passing it a million times on my way to the pier. Rating this place 3 stars only because of the food. Everything else was 4 stars. Maybe it was an off night ‍ Ambience was great, service and staff were friendly and attentive, music was great, and even our soup, salad, and garlic bread were delish! But our main course was very disappointing, especially for the price. My husbands chicken was extremely dry and they tried to mask it with a gallon of sauce that tasted like it was straight out of a jar. My chicken picatta was VERY salty and not very appetizing. I needed to buy dinner to go for three people, and I had a real yen for linguine in a White clam sauce. Brogino's serves it. I'm not sure why I like this place so much, but I do. There's nothing really special about this place, but the friendly atmosphere and good home-style Italian food gets me every time. First, their bread. Amazing. They bring a huge basket of different kinds of fresh bread to your table, along with the usual olive oil / vinegar. I've had a few dishes here--mostly either chicken or veal. I love both. I'm a huge veal fan, and all of the different dishes I've ordered with veal have been really good. This is our go to neighborhood Italian Restaurant. Ambiance: family style with eclectic decorations. The ceiling is muraled up and there is a mix of live plants, mementos and pictures decorating the place. The bar is a quaint spot for waiting for a table or to go food. Food: It's all freshly prepared. the soup and salad (comes with the complete meals) is homemade. their past dishes are pretty solid if you are in for the carb overload. The meat and seafood dishes are great. I recommend the veal dishes and the Ala Broginos is a treat if you like scallops. I also like the Shrimp Asparagus. The Osso Bocco is a rich bowl of lamb shanks in a simmered broth. Drinks: They do have a full bar with some interesting mixes of wines. They also have a few house specialty drinks. My favorite happens to the "hot and dirty" martini. It's a dirty martini with a shot of jalapeño juice. Very close to 5 stars! As a regular of this establishment, I am compelled to review it here on yelp. The food is always fantastic! As an Italian with New York in my blood, I have to say this is the best Italian Food in the South Bay. The waitresses remember you, your treated well and your never bombarded with screaming children or kids running around. The restaurant is very small but somehow seats roughly 75 pretty comfortably! When they are busy, the service can be a little slow. That is why i gave them 4 stars. Other than that, never one complaint! Food is always hot, delicious and served with a smile. I thought the waiter was very friendly and kind. I could definitely tell that this is a family owned establishment, rather than a national chain. Came in here to pick up an order and the manager/owner/ whatever he is was extremely rude and had a bad attitude on him. I've never actually eaten here I came in as a driver to pick up a customers order and he looked at me like I was gum underneath a table. Never eating here now that I know how bad the service is. Talk about ambiance, service and delicious food? You're talking about Brogino's! And being greeted every time I walk in like I'm "part of the family" adds so much to the dining experience. To add, their wines are delicious and, when I'm celebrating, the martinis are the BEST - and BIG! Here, they do little things that mean a lot, and that are not done by other restaurants. Salads are served on a cold plate, steaming hot soup is served to you at your table from a large pot. There's even a special birthday horn blown by staff when it's your birthday. My buddy suggested Brogino's and I took his advise. Parking was convenient, but the restaurant wasn't full - Thursday nite. Walked in, thought it was alittle much - hanging lights, fake plants, ... But it was actually pleasant. Wait staff was cordial, patient and helpful - we were taking our time. Ordered an appetizer not on the menu - "scallops scampi" if you will - Marvelous. Split an order of sausage/peppers w/ pasta & salad. Ordered ANOTHER bottle of wine - "house" Chianti at the servers suggestion (perfect) Ordered ANOTHER scallop scampi Tiara Misu was avg at best - I like mine wet. All in all - I'll be back. This is a cute little Redondo gem that has a great, cozy ambiance, but unfortunately the food is subpar. Very bland food. Tried osso buco, side order of pasta, minestrone, bread sticks, and eggplant parmigiana... all very bland and devoid of flavor. Adding salt just made it saltier, but not tastier. Very little sense of any herbs being utilized in their dishes. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but I just wasn't impressed. My family and I stopped by this place about two weeks ago on a whim. We had relatives from Oklahoma stopping by, and were trying to find a place we'd all like to eat. We settled on italian food, and decided to give this place a try. Our waiter, Omar, was awesome. Super personable, he made my aunt's night with his stories. The food was great, and Omar was good at keeping our drinks flowing. I'll definitely swing by this place the next time I'm entertaining, as the food and atmosphere are great. I also suggest asking for some of the meat sauce for your bread. While the balsamic and olive oil are delicious, the meat sauce is even better. It is absolutely the BEST, mid-level priced Italian-American style restaurant in the South Bay area; perhaps in all of L.A.! I'm an East Coast boy, fresh to L.A. from Boston. My family grew up in the North End, the most traditional 'Little Italy' in the country. I come from a family of restaurant owners and chefs; and this place NAILS it! The ambiance is second to none; the most romantic little spot around, with lots of christmas & grape lights and a thousand little nicknacks all around. And the food? It looks and tastes like every Sunday afternoon meal I've ever eaten!! No fancy, shi-shi, $35.00 dishes of spaghetti (though the pricing is, of course, more expensive than your run-of-the-mill Italian chain). AND, may I note, that the tomato sauce is the best I've had in ANY restaurant here on the West coast. It tastes home-made; sweet and delicious (it is surprisingly difficult to actually find a decent marinara sauce, even on the East coast)! No fancy presentations; just food with a home-cooked taste and feel. If you're used to fancy, fushion style Italian, (which seems to be the 'in' thing here in L.A., for some god-awful reason), go elsewhere. But if you're like me, an honest to goodness Italian American whose grandparents came over on the boat in NYC, then this is the spot for you! The ambiance was cute and romantic, but the food and service was subpar. You order a main dish and the sides are all alacarte, which is normal for a fancy steak place, but not an Italian place. In addition this place is a bit pricey which doesn't translate to great quality. I ordered chicken parmesan and it was just okay. To be honest the best part of the meal was the bread. My wife and I finally visited this place after passing it by hundreds of times, and boy, was it a very nice surprise. To be completely honest, upon entering we were not even sure if anyone was going to sit us at all, so there was a bit of confusion at first, but what came after totally makes up for the long wait. You definitely forget that you're next to a busy street in Redondo, and you feel comfy and cozy being served attentively. This is my favorite date night restaurant, the ambience is dark and cozy. The staff is attentive, and the food.....omg the food is so good! My bf and I always split the full dinner which fills us both up, that and a bottle of wine and you have the perfect 53.00 multi course feast. Their food is fresh! The pasta is home made, not soggy! Last night our waiter recommended that we get the mushroom brandy alfredo sauce on our mushroom ravioli and the little slices of mushroom in the sauce were crispy and fresh! We came here for dinner and it was very dim with the lighting, which added to a nice romantic atmosphere. I couldn't make up my mind, so I picked the chicken scaloppini, spaghetti, and lasagna combo, and it was a lot of food! The chicken in the scaloppini was very tender and the sauce was flavorful and tasty. The lasagna was really good, and so was the spaghetti. I was excited to try this place as its near my house. Immediately after walking in, I noticed it's a locals type of place which was fine with me. The place was cute inside, the bar though was sadly outdated and not comfortable whatsoever. The waitress/bartender was really friendly and nice. The only reason this place only gets a 3 is because the meal I ordered (manicotti) was pretty terrible as far as resteraunt standards go. I ate it all as I was starving but it tasted like I bought it at the grocery store and heated my frozen TV dinner. The pre dinner bread was the best part of this place.
