So this place has been around since I was a kid, maybe even longer. It's a small place with a fair size dining room and a full bar. The food was really good and they have some good wines too. They were a little short handed so we did a little more waiting than we prefer. This was the second time here in the last month and though the food was good we probably will not return in the summer because it was really hot and humid in there. We didn't stick around for drinks or desert because we couldn't stay in there a minute longer. I think it was about 90 degrees inside and about 76 outside. The chicken Parmesan was great! read more

Very close to 5 stars! As a regular of this establishment, I am compelled to review it here on yelp. The food is always fantastic! As an Italian with New York in my blood, I have to say this is the best Italian Food in the South Bay. The waitresses remember you, your treated well and your never bombarded with screaming children or kids running around. The restaurant is very small but somehow seats roughly 75 pretty comfortably! When they are busy, the service can be a little slow. That is why i gave them 4 stars. Other than that, never one complaint! Food is always hot, delicious and served with a smile. Fantastic food! Everything tasted very fresh and authentic. The garlic bread is so delicious. The prices are rather high, but the food was worth every penny. I thought the waiter was very friendly and kind. I could definitely tell that this is a family owned establishment, rather than a national chain. I always drove by this place and one night my boyfriend and i decided try it out. The decor is very charming, and relaxing... I felt so comfortable and didn't want to leave. This is a cute little Redondo gem that has a great, cozy ambiance, but unfortunately the food is subpar. Very bland food. Tried osso buco, side order of pasta, minestrone, bread sticks, and eggplant parmigiana... all very bland and devoid of flavor. Adding salt just made it saltier, but not tastier. Very little sense of any herbs being utilized in their dishes. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but I just wasn't impressed. I placed my first DoorDash order for Brogino's on Dec. 23, 2021. DoorDash was great, but Brogino's left an item off, and didn't pay attention to a special request. I called the restaurant immediately and spoke to Omar. He promised to fix it on my next order, which I placed on Dec. 30,2021. I called the restaurant first and spoke to Omar again and he said he would personally fill it. Due to the Covid shutting down so many small businesses, I told him they could comp me a dessert, not the whole meal. It was Veal Picatta, which is expensive! And delicious! As Mario Batali once famously said, "Italian food is to appear as if it has fallen from the fingers of the poet." He must have been talking about Brogino's when he said this. It is absolutely the BEST, mid-level priced Italian-American style restaurant in the South Bay area; perhaps in all of L.A.! I'm an East Coast boy, fresh to L.A. from Boston. My family grew up in the North End, the most traditional 'Little Italy' in the country. I come from a family of restaurant owners and chefs; and this place NAILS it! The ambiance is second to none; the most romantic little spot around, with lots of christmas & grape lights and a thousand little nicknacks all around. And the food? It looks and tastes like every Sunday afternoon meal I've ever eaten!! No fancy, shi-shi, $35.00 dishes of spaghetti (though the pricing is, of course, more expensive than your run-of-the-mill Italian chain). AND, may I note, that the tomato sauce is the best I've had in ANY restaurant here on the West coast. It tastes home-made; sweet and delicious (it is surprisingly difficult to actually find a decent marinara sauce, even on the East coast)! No fancy presentations; just food with a home-cooked taste and feel. If you're used to fancy, fushion style Italian, (which seems to be the 'in' thing here in L.A., for some god-awful reason), go elsewhere. But if you're like me, an honest to goodness Italian American whose grandparents came over on the boat in NYC, then this is the spot for you! My buddy suggested Brogino's and I took his advise. Parking was convenient, but the restaurant wasn't full - Thursday nite. Walked in, thought it was alittle much - hanging lights, fake plants, ... But it was actually pleasant. Wait staff was cordial, patient and helpful - we were taking our time. Ordered an appetizer not on the menu - "scallops scampi" if you will - Marvelous. Split an order of sausage/peppers w/ pasta & salad. Ordered ANOTHER bottle of wine - "house" Chianti at the servers suggestion (perfect) Ordered ANOTHER scallop scampi Tiara Misu was avg at best - I like mine wet. All in all - I'll be back. Disappointing. Live close to this location and wanted to support a local business, but after dinner here I must say that I won't be back. Food: Some dishes that you don't normally see at an Italian restaurant (Scallop Parm), but the flavor/texture/presentation aren't there. Scallops had a fishy taste in the scallop parm, shrimp had a rubbery texture in the shrimp scampi, and the chicken parm was more breading than chicken. Side spaghetti needed a lot of parm cheese. Bonus star for garlic bread, though wish there would be olive oil/balsamic vinegar on table vs provided on plate. Service: Lacking...took several minutes to be acknowledged, and server seemed disinterested. Items plopped down without much interaction. Water glasses empty until near end of meal when server came back and asked if we needed anything (water had been empty since before main entrees showed up). Other issues: Missing tableware and dirty forks - had to share bread plate with wife, and because we couldn't find our server, took clean forks from another table since ours had old food crusted on it. In closing, won't be back, and will have to stick to our go-to Italian restaurant of Scardino's in Torrance. read more

I've driven past this place many a time and finally made a reservation to try it out. It was easy to find parking and there was plenty spots available with a 2 hour limit from 9am -6pm if parking on the street. I walked in and was greeted with smiles and hellos. The walls and ceiling are hand painted with Italian Art. The walls adorned with lights and plants giving the ambience of an Italian home. Even dimly lit, It's a great place to take cute pictures and selfies. Our waiter Omar was amazing. He was so friendly and easy to talk to immediately giving you a family style restaurant vibe. As I sat feasting on their Garlic bread and the sautéed mushroom appetizer that came with a marinara side of sauce,(Yum) I noticed the servers were laughing and smiling with their many regulars that seem to love this place. It made the experience better as the family style atmosphere continued with happy customers. I ordered the Pear Flower martini cocktail. So good. It's refreshing and cleans the pallet without being too sweet. I recommend if you like vodka. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana that came with a side order of spaghetti with marinara. They gave the option for marinara meat sauce. I selected the former. Omar was also attentive at my potential at being a vegetarian diner and let me know my orders that may have meat in them or cooked in a meat broth. I'm not vegetarian but appreciated the attentiveness. My date order an Old fashioned which he loved and the Something Different pasta. He ordered the complete meal meaning it included Soup and Salad. The minestrone was AMAZING ! I usually don't care for minestrone because I usually opt for a thicker soup but the soup was a chef kiss! Best minestrone I've had . Packed with flavor! The house salad was paired with a thick sweet vinaigrette and went well the savory taste of the minestrone. Our food was amazing. The paste was saucy and thick with tender juicy scallops and shrimp. The eggplant was not over battered allowing the taste of the eggplant to come through with the gob of melted mozzarella and marinara on top. Finally at Omar's recommendation we had dessert and it capped off our dinner perfectly. I'm so glad we decided to do dessert! This is a perfect community restaurant with many regulars who are excited for new people to come share the experience and staff that support it. The perfect place for a nice relaxed date or even by yourself if you want to hang out by the fully shelved bar and large TV. (They'll put the game on by request) I appreciate the versatility. Ordered the Minestrone for starter and Linguine with Clams for my entree. Food was piping hot and very tasty. I couldn't believe how many clams they put in the entree. My wife and I finally visited this place after passing it by hundreds of times, and boy, was it a very nice surprise. To be completely honest, upon entering we were not even sure if anyone was going to sit us at all, so there was a bit of confusion at first, but what came after totally makes up for the long wait. The waiter was very helpful and always close by, which was very nice. And the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic, dim lit dinner. You definitely forget that you're next to a busy street in Redondo, and you feel comfy and cozy being served attentively. The only reason for my 5-star rating is because of the food and the satisfaction that came with it. From the garlic bread to the soup, to the salad, to my chicken alfredo, it was one of the best dinners I have ever had in a very long time. Nice place. Old school Italian. We had excellent cocktails. Followed by really great soup. Then a house salad. My veal picatta was the best cooked veal I have ever had It was very tender. Still, I need a little more lemon. My wife enjoyed her eggplant parmigiana. The only draw back was the large serving on sauce overwhelmed the breading canceling its crispiness. Still trying to figure out if I really had this experience. Let me first make it clear that I really do not mind spending money on good food. I do not care if a basic pasta with no meat and a soda is $22. Value also comes in the quality of the recipe, ingredients, service, location, ambiance....etc. If all I care about is the substance of the food, then I will stay home and drink a protein shake or eat a salad. With this being said, I am appalled at both the service and quality of food at this restaurant. I asked for a garlic-lemon sauce on angel hair pasta which the server said they could make. Upon receiving my food, all I got was a fist and a half size of angel hair pasta with barely any olive oil but at least enough toasted garlic to taste garlic. That is it. For $22. No sign of lemon taste or even scent of citrus at all; basically a meal I can make for under $2 at home. The soda was $4.50 but no one came to check on me so there was no refill. I did get some bread with oil and vinegar which had more taste than the pasta. The server only came back to pick up the dishes once I was done eating, so I then just asked for the check. The sever's demeanor was rude and almost condescending, with him predominantly answering the couple questions I asked in a brisk, almost authoritative tone, yet straight from under his nose while he had already managed to churn to his side and begin walking away from me before he could even begin, let alone finish, answering. Please note that I was one of two customers, so it's not like it was super busy and they were perhaps short-staffed. My advice is that if you have more than one question, you will have to get his attention again. I was also not getting any reception for whatever reason, I have no clue why as my phone always works in that area, and so I asked for the wifi password, to which I was met with a stringent answer of "we don't wifi!" coming from what seemed to be his shoulder since he was already walking away. Very unpleasant and unprofessional service, and a complete rip off as far as the quality of the food. I can make a better pasta myself at home and avoid the rudeness. We came here for dinner and it was very dim with the lighting, which added to a nice romantic atmosphere. I couldn't make up my mind, so I picked the chicken scaloppini, spaghetti, and lasagna combo, and it was a lot of food! The chicken in the scaloppini was very tender and the sauce was flavorful and tasty. The lasagna was really good, and so was the spaghetti. I was excited to try this place as its near my house. Immediately after walking in, I noticed it's a locals type of place which was fine with me. The place was cute inside, the bar though was sadly outdated and not comfortable whatsoever. The waitress/bartender was really friendly and nice. The only reason this place only gets a 3 is because the meal I ordered (manicotti) was pretty terrible as far as resteraunt standards go. I ate it all as I was starving but it tasted like I bought it at the grocery store and heated my frozen TV dinner. The pre dinner bread was the best part of this place. One word to describe this place: SLOW! The service is slow and it takes forever for the staff to even acknowledge you, let alone take your order. The food takes an incredibly long time to come out even when the restaurant is only about half full and it's not even very good. The meatballs taste funky, the meat sauce is dry and 50% onions. Forget about calling in an order or ordering through doordash or postmates. The order has never been ready even in the ball park of the time I was given and they have missed items on orders. This place has had more than enough chances. It's amazing how they are still in business. Maybe it was an off night ‍ Ambience was great, service and staff were friendly and attentive, music was great, and even our soup, salad, and garlic bread were delish! But our main course was very disappointing, especially for the price. My husbands chicken was extremely dry and they tried to mask it with a gallon of sauce that tasted like it was straight out of a jar. My chicken picatta was VERY salty and not very appetizing. The boyfriend and I decided to check this place out as he's been wanting to for awhile since moving into his new place. You see, every night, around dinner time, he tells me about the amazing smells wafting into his apartment from Brogino's. Went inside. The place is quaint and a little quirky. We were greeted after a few minutes by one of the two wait staff for the evening. Upon walking in we were one of the few patrons but within 30 minutes, the place seemed to fill up quickly. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken A La Napoli with a Sauteed Mushroom starter. For me, the pasta combination platter of ravioli, cannelloni and lasagne. We started with garlic bread which was neither here nor there. Not horrible, and not particularly good. The service was fairly slow. Ten minutes and possibly 15, we waited for our appetizer. We were not displeased. My boyfriend scarfed down the sauteed mushrooms and then... we were left to wait. Another 10-15, we were surprised to be served a salad. The dressing, was... to die for. A tomato based vinaigrette. I was in heaven then. Following more waiting, a course of minestrone (also very good) we were finally served our entrees. My boyfriend's eyes, literally, rolled back into his head as he tasted his entree. Offering me a bite, I can't deny mine didn't do the same. The pastas were wonderful, the lasagna in particular. The wait times were long (short-staffed, mostly), although, the added courses were well worth the wait. The service wasn't bad. I needed to buy dinner to go for three people, and I had a real yen for linguine in a White clam sauce. Brogino's serves it.
