When ordering Crystal was super friendly introducing her husband and herself and nice and was able to let me know her favorites which we ordered. While waiting for our food she continued this sunshine spirit, walking to tables and checking in and conversing with customers. It was a great sight to see. The food was amazing!! I had the spicy pork bahn mi and my partner had the crispy spicy veggie burger. The pork in the bahn mi was delicious!!! We also really liked the veggie burger as well - a very great homemade patty! We are from out of town and gutted that we won't be able to try their soup before we leave! The next time we are in Kelowna, we are definitely coming again. Thank you Crystal and Staff!

I had gone to the…read morerestaurant to get some take away soup, and explained to the counter lady my husband couldn't eat large chunks in soup due to his cancer treatment. She offered to blend it, which was a great solution. I waited, and then when the soup came, she simply said, "It's been taken care of." For anyone who has ever been through cancer or cared for someone who is going through it or a serious illness, you know that feeling of utterly loneliness and overwhelm. Like nobody understands what you are going through, and you just have to keep yourself under control or you will lose it. Well, this act of kindness did me in. I broke down in tears, Crystal, the counter lady -- the human form of kindness and love -- took me outside. She told me that cancer sucks, but it would get better. Well, Crystal, it has gotten better. The soup was amazing, but more importantly that small act of kindness gave me the strength to keep going that day. I will never forget that gesture. I didn't get the chance to go back, which I will always regret. Keep doing what you are doing folks. You do more than make awesome food. Your soup and sandwiches nourish souls as well as bodies.

We ordered the pho special brisket & veggie pho. The bf enjoyed his pho. The brisket & meatballs were tasty. My veggie pho was loaded with the perfect balance of tofu & TVP and vegetables. The broth was super flavorful. Unlike pho places at home, there was not a separate plate of herbs (cilantro, mint, sweet basil), jalapeños, bean sprouts and lemon/lime. Instead, the bean sprouts were already tucked into the soup. However, there was no basil or jalapeños. We did receive a small sauce dish of peanut sauce & sriracha. The portions were a bit modest, which worked well for me, but was less food than expected for us since portion sizes at pho places are usually much bigger. All in all, the food was fresh, delicious and served with such friendly hospitality. This isn't a great place for large groups but rather an excellent place for a quick meal or takeout. Unfortunately, this was easily the worst meal I've had there. I ordered the almond chicken. The portion was generous, with four good-sized pieces, but the coating was extraordinarily hard. Instead of being light and crisp, it was so hard that it was almost like eating hard candy. The chicken itself was dry and tough, and the overall impression was that it had been cooked well in advance and reheated, although I obviously can't say that for certain. My girlfriend ordered the ginger beef. Unfortunately, the beef was also very tough and difficult to eat. It lacked the tenderness I would expect, and the texture was noticeably poor. What made this particularly disappointing was that I had previously had good experiences at Wild Ginger. I remember the vegetables being fresh and nicely steamed, and the food generally being enjoyable. The portions were generous, but portion size doesn't make up for food that is dry, tough, and difficult to eat. I'm leaving this review because I hope the restaurant takes the feedback seriously. I'm not looking to attack the business. I've eaten there before and that is exactly why this experience surprised me. It was like the glaze on a Krispy Kreme glazed donut. Delicious, yes, and sugary, but not maple-y. My kid's berry one was very subtle in its berry flavor. Again, excellent, but not knock-out berry-y. To me, these treats were similar to donuts without the holes. More like fluffy fritters. Delicious, but not as unique as I thought they'd be. As for the coffees....my maple latte, again, sadly, did not taste at ALL maple-y. But it was an excellent coffee: very smooth and flavorful. You could tell the beans were excellent. There just was no maple taste. But my kid had a berry latte (again, I forget what kind), but this drink was EXCELLENT and it totally DID have a distinct berry flavor to it, and it was wonderful!
