We stopped by this Freshii in Milton Park for afternoon smoothies and a bowl. We enjoyed everything…read moreand service was good. Freshii is a Canadian-based international fast-casual chain serving healthy foods. There are hundreds of locations in Canada and the US. On the inside and outside of this location, I noticed branding for Yogurty's Froyo. So in addition to salads, wraps, bowls, burritos, soups, smoothies, and juices, they also serve frozen yogurt. They have self-serve machines with 12-15 flavors to choose from. There's also a colorful toppings bar. During our visit, there were 32 candy (and nut) toppings, 4 fruit toppings, and 3 syrups (e.g. chocolate, strawberry). This is a casual place with more of a cafe-type atmosphere than a full-fledged restaurant. Interior seating extends into the back (they have a decent amount) and there's sidewalk patio seating too (that's where we sat). The vibe is comfortable and laid back and the store has a playful, sort of modern and hip feel to it (though this sort of style is getting dated). The menu featured 4 smoothies and 6 juices. Most smoothies were priced at $5.99 each and most juices were $6.49 each. I got a Freshii Vert ($5.99) which is made with chou kale, epinards, ananas, and avocats. In English, that translates to a green smoothie made with kale, spinach, pineapple, and avocado. My friend got the Banane Et Fraise ($5.99) which is a banana and strawberry smoothie. Another friend got a bowl. Everything was made fresh to order so it took a few minutes, but not very long. The lady who prepared our order wrapped everything tightly and securely in plastic wrap which I appreciated. It made transporting everything worry-free. My Freshii Vert hit the spot. It was cold and refreshing. It tasted good and fresh. It wasn't too sweet and had an appetizing, smooth consistency. My friends liked what they got too. Freshii's smoothies come in one size only. I'm not sure how many ounces, but it would be considered a "small" or "medium" by most smoothie place standards. It'd be nice if they offered a larger size. I actually got my smoothie for only $3.99 instead of $5.99 because I noticed the changing section underneath the smoothie menu (it's digital) advertised "smoothie happy hour 2-6pm every day, only $3.99." Our visit was around 4pm on a Friday and the shop had hardly any customers at that time. Both the cashier and the lady who prepared our order for us were friendly. Wi-Fi network is Freshii and password is Energize.

On our first visit, Charlotte took wonderful care of us. The menu's ham and cheese option, which looked like a scone, seemed a bit heavy, so I asked if she could offer something lighter. Though a ham and cheese croissant isn't on the menu, she kindly offered to bring me the ingredients so I could make my own. I ordered a plain croissant with capicola, a ham-and-salami-style cold cut, and cheese on the side, then assembled my own sandwich at the table. I was so happy she accommodated me, and the simplicity and quality of the ingredients were perfect alongside one of the best lattes we've had in a very long time. On our second visit, Violet served us with the same warmth. I knew exactly what to ask for, and she delivered just as Charlotte had. We enjoyed great lattes with an extra shot of espresso on the side, and a hot chocolate that our son called one of the best he's ever had. The atmosphere is lively and cozy, with people chatting, warm lighting, and lovely decor. It's a bit tight inside and gets very crowded, but we were lucky to be seated right away both times, and we felt truly blessed as we watched a long line form outside. This is a staple for us, and it will definitely be on our list the next time we're in Old Montreal.

Whenever I don't know what to eat but still want something good (and not too heavy), this is usually it. The chicken is always solid. Juicy, well cooked, and actually seasoned properly, which is not always the case at places like this. You can tell it's marinated and not just grilled plain. I usually get a bowl and load it up with veggies and a sauce or two. The sauces are really what make it for me -- flavorful but not overpowering, and they don't taste artificial. What I like is that you can build the bowl however you want. Some days I go lighter, other days I'm hungry and add more. Portions are decent and I usually feel full after, not stuffed but satisfied. Price feels fair for what you get. The place itself is clean and simple, nothing fancy but comfortable. Staff has been nice every time I've gone. Sometimes it's busy, but they still move pretty fast and don't make you feel rushed or ignored. It's not "fine dining" obviously, but it's reliable. And that matters. If you're looking for something fresh, filling, and easy, Poulet Rouge is a good choice. I'd recommend it, especially if you're tired of greasy fast food.
