After 4 months in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, I was admitted to Sonoma…read morePost Acute. The facility is nice and clean (no nursing home smell!) with activities and tasty meals. However it is the employees that make this place special. It is not just a job for them, they truly care about the patients. The PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY department is EXCEPTIONAL. Through humor, encouragement and skill they got me back on my feet and made me want to do my best. I couldn't ask for a better team in Eddie, Rachel, Nicole, Janelle, Matt, Jamie and Ken. The NURSES (CNAs, LVNs, RNs) are caring, attentive, personable, kind, respectful and dedicated. SARAH is AMAZING and exemplifies what a great nurse should be. She anticipates your needs and has them met before you can even ask. She is so SPECIAL. Right by her is Esther, Pedro, Wilma, and a team of other wonderful staff there to take care of your basic needs and comfort. Mariah Janna, and Amy are just a few of the skilled nurses who make sure you are informed about the medication you are receiving and quickly tend to any medical needs you may have. They are so KNOWLEDGEABLE and APPROACHABLE. As a diabetic with a heart condition, WOUND CARE can be challenging, except for someone like Nurse Renee. Not only did she tend to and heal a complicated surgical wound, she healed an old wound I was told, by several wound care professionals, would never heal completely. Renee is SKILLED and GIFTED. You are in good hands at Sonoma Post Acute.

They starve, neglect, and abuse patients. Their beds are infested with bedbugs. Their food is very bad, no one eats it. The health department should shut down this facility. My cousin almost died in their care, lost half his weight and spent one month in the ICU. Do not take or leave your loved ones in the Sonoma Post Acute, Sonoma. If you go to this place to visit, you will immediately notice the very loud music, that's on purpose so the staff don't have to hear the residents calling for help. This facility is a dump and a horror show.

My mother was not clean probably so I put her in the shower myself and cleaned her backside which was literally caked on. I felt very uncomfortable in that place no good vibes SO MY SISTERS AND I GOT HER OUT OF THERE. We went to Mother Love in Santa Rosa which is a real home, in the neighborhood, and Mother Love and her daughter fell in love with my MOM, When I first met them I said okay sisters this is the place, The vibes were so good in there, Suddenly my mother was herself again, Shining with the Holy Spirit, she hated Sunrise she felt scared there. If God isn't there then what was , She lit up when she stary with Mother love, Always protect your loved ones from darkness and soulless people when they are at that age. She died in Peace with Gods light. Cost of Sunrise with a caviler attitude rip off dont leave your loved ones there. Eight thousand dollars a month, Theres a place in hell for this place.

Disgusting! Sunrise Villa is NOTHING like that though! This is a fancy pants place! When you walk in you are blanketed by the amazing smells of the delicious food from the kitchen, and the dining room has chandeliers, cloth napkins, crystal glasses, and table service with huge menus for every meal! It's literally like a fancy restaurant for every meal for the residents! That cannot be beat! The entire place is immaculate, with no dirt or bad smells anywhere that we can detect, and that's a huge plus. Just the idea of assisted living usually conjures up negative things but Sunrise Villa creates a whole different experience, a wonderful one. My folks have only been there for one month, having come from a beautiful hilltop home on sonoma Mountain, and they are both already saying they are happy there. There are tons of amazing activities scheduled all day long, and their amazing two bedroom apartment gives them a living room, a bedroom, and an extra bedroom for my father's computer and office. On top of all that, Grace, who helped us through every step, is the most kind, loving, understanding, and patient person to help your family through this difficult time. She is amazing! Thank you Grace! Sunrise Villa is not cheap however, and you'll need plenty of money in order to stay there, but it's definitely worth it, and they have created an assisted living facility that takes the sting out of the painful family process that leads to the need for it. I recommend it highly, if you can afford it.

I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone. The day shift were very nice to my father, but the night…read moreshift the staff didn't speak English and when my dad would hit the call light they would walk by and turn it off and keep walking. They did not give my father his medication as the doctor prescribed: it was either not enough or too much. One day I came to visit him and he had a huge bump and bruise on his head; bruises on his shoulder and his entire right side. I asked my dad what happen, he did not remember, when I asked the staff they stated that he fell out of his wheel chair. No one called us to let us know, it was very startling to come in and see your loved one look like he had been in a huge brawl and lost. He would have bruises on him all over the place. I understand that his skin was thin and may have bruised easily, but did they have to be so rough. I would watch his face when the turned him or moved him and his face showed that it hurt, they would just flip him like he was nothing. He was not nothing, he was my father. The nurses were very rude and would just walk away when you were talking to them, if you could get them to talk to you. Once my mother tried to talk to a nurse and she put her hand up and said "not now, I'm busy". My father when he first arrived did not like this place, every day he said that he had to get out of there. He would ask to participate in some of the activities but they would never come and get him (he was a double amputee). We asked them many times. After a while my dad gave up and asked us if he was just brought there to die. We tried to find other nursing homes for him to go to, my mother called every one of them, there were several that said they would take him they had the room all Sonoma health care needed to do was send them a referral. We would be so happy, then we would go visit dad and they would tell us that they were contacted by the other home and they made a mistake and they were sorry but they did not have the room for dad, my mom would just cry. I hated this! We couldn't even get him out. My mom would go home and call the place that said they had room for my dad and ask them what happen, each of the homes said exactly the same thing 'I'm sorry but he person that was being discharged suddenly got worse and could not leave". Funny all three of the facilities that said they had a room for dad said exactly the same thing, like they were reading from a script. He was there for 6 weeks, when he went in, he was laughing & joking around but within those 6 weeks, he gave up; he wouldn't even eat the last two weeks. My father passed away on 7/19/14; in the place he hated the most. The day shift seemed to treat my father well. But we were also there during the day. So I am not sure what happened when we were not there. Good Luck to whomever is reading this, I wish you the best. I do not recommend this place for your loved one.
