You have to really appreciate the honesty of this business. They easily could have replaced the tires and I wouldn't have known any better.

Took it in to the mechanic my family trusts just to be safe and thank god I did because there was ALOT of $$$ problems with it :(( leaking transmission, missing antenna, radio not working, air conditioning not getting cold enough, leaking sealant, just to name a few. My family thinks I've dodged a bullet, and it sounds like the mechanic was very through when they went through with it. It took about 2 hours and ran me about $200~ but saved me what would've been thousands in damages. The man at his desk (Larry) who I believe was the one who did the maintenance check was very nice to us even though we were almost half an hour late to our appointment initially, I was extremely apologetic and he didn't seem to mind at all.(again, very sorry about that) They even spoke to my family and recommended a dealership for us to try (didn't seem like a money grab, wasn't on a business card they wrote it on the back of a blank piece of paper in pen) so hopefully my car hunting goes better....

The news I got was terrible-tied with serious sentimental value-the answer I got was honest. I had to convince them to do the work to make it safe to drive-knowing there was no cure. Then they do it in record time, charge me less than others would or quoted and were nice as could be. They explained the in detail what they could and could not cure, advised that I not invest and after significant pressure offered a middle path. They stayed opened late to accommodate, did amazing work and did it well. I love this shop. You will too.

I brought my car in on August 10th for an oil change, tire rotation, and to check a service light on the dash. About an hour later I got a call about it, and was given an outrageous quote to repair the root cause of the light, which turned out to be my alternator. On that call I wasn't given any real explanation or even a breakdown of the cost. That's also where I learned about a diagnostic fee I would be charged even if I went ahead with the repair, something I was never told about upfront. I declined the repair. After that call, I got quotes from a dealership and two other local shops for the same alternator repair. DiMaggio was going to charge me roughly 30 percent more than the dealership and nearly 70 percent more than the other local shops. Nobody called to let me know my car was ready, so I showed up assuming it was done. At pickup, I was charged for services I never approved, with no explanation until I pushed for one. My invoice said I had been given a courtesy vehicle inspection, but I didn't actually receive the results until after I had already complained. When I asked for the manager's contact information in person, I was handed a business card with an incorrect email address on it. I had to track down his correct email myself just to reach him. He did call the following day, and I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because of that call, but the conversation mostly defended his team's handling of things rather than offering any real path to fixing it. Because of that, I ended up taking my car to another shop instead. This experience was more than terrible. It didn't make sense on paper or even in person. Avoid this shop if you can.

It had apparently rusted through and the car is now undrivable. I did receive a report of the base inspection after services had already been completed which did not indicate any danger of my axle snapping. I do believe that the services rendered by Hammers were done properly but had I known that the vehicle was that close to death, I would not have let them talk me into replacing all the tires. When we discussed the tire options, it sounded like the vehicle would last at least until winter as snow was brought up multiple times when discussing what would fit on my vehicle. In total I spent roughly $1000 dollars to be able to drive my car for thirty more miles. Not worth it. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

The first time I was in, I got to listen to the guy at the counter (Larry) talk to two customers before me. He first gave a man a great explanation of why a repair was complete, but less costly than estimated. Then he provided a woman with a very detailed but clear analysis for the condition of a car she had brought in to be looked over before her son bought it. It was easy to see that both customers were happy and felt like they had gotten a good deal and good information. This shop does not talk down to anyone, and they don't BS or schmooze their way through customer interaction. I've had coolant leaks fixed, an intermittent "check engine" warning light analyzed and fixed, and a suspension issue resolved. All done timely and at a reasonable price. The other reviews are spot on. This is an honest shop doing really good work, and not looking to gouge you or add on extra services. Highly recommended.

I used to live in South Florida. If you're familiar with that part of the world, you know that…read moreevery mechanic is a con-artist looking for new and unique ways to rob you of your hard-earned money while convincing you they're doing you a favor. My car started making a very strange grinding and rubbing noise when I was taking a left turn. I suspected it might have been a control arm, wheel hub, or something else suspension-related and was nervous. We've been in the area only about a year, and I had no clue who was a good mechanic that could help fix the car and not drain my bank account. I was at a Marshall Area Business Administration meeting and bumped into someone who referred me to Deerfield Tire & Auto and told me to ask for Troy. A few weeks later, I got the gumption (mostly because I was tired of having a car I couldn't use) to wander down to see Troy and I have to say, I was shocked. Troy and I went for a little test drive. In less than a block, he was able to take a reasonable guess as to what was wrong. He figured it was coming from the rear passenger side wheel, whereas I thought it was the left front wheel. He got the car up on the rack and let me know it was nothing suspension-related (whew) and instead was a brake problem, with the possibility of it requiring new calipers and possibly needing new bearings. As it turned out, all it needed was new pads and rotors. Troy called me several times to give me updates as to what was going on and how he was ruling out some of the worst-case scenarios (your calipers reset perfectly... your bearings are fine). He could have easily taken us for a ride (pun intended) and just told me it was all of those things, and I wouldn't have been the wiser. But, he was honest, he communicated everything, and treated us with respect. I was so impressed with Troy that, when I picked up my car yesterday, I dropped off my Jeep for tire replacement. I was having some uneven wear on the front tires, where other mechanics had said, "That's a Jeep thing and it'll cost you about $600 in suspension work, a CV joint, and then you'll need to buy tires, too." Nope. He gave me the cost of two tires, he then tested the alignment and it was as simple as the tires were too far toed out. An alignment was $89 and would fix the entire issue (on top of the tires). He showed me the before/after readings of the alignment and we were on our merry way. The next time I have an issue that can be addressed by his shop, I'm taking my vehicles here. He instilled trust and made me feel comfortable with the entire process.

They're very honest and upstanding, which is apparently hard to come by when it comes to servicing cars! The Zimbrick Honda dealership's service center (the one on Grand Canyon Drive) in town told my brother that his car was leaking transmission fluid from the axle seals. They also mentioned that his air intake hose was about to tear, and it needed to be replaced immediately. Both of these were strange findings as his car is not that old and has relatively low mileage. So, he took the car to Goodyear to get another quote and a second look. The dealership quoted him for $840 for the transmission fluid issues, while the folks at Goodyear quoted him for literally HALF THE COST of the dealer. However, they also said they couldn't find a leak. Apparently, his car's seals were totally fine. As for the air intake hose, Goodyear found that it's only slightly worn from weather and time, but it looks fine. The mechanic at Goodyear said they wouldn't recommend my brother to go out of his way to replace it until a light comes on for it on the dashboard of the car. Wow, the dealership completely tried to rip him off! BONUS: They're so honest and standup at this Goodyear that they went one step further to say that they weren't comfortable charging him with anything because no services needed to be done. They didn't even charge my brother for the part they ordered because they will just send it back for him at no cost. How amazing are they, right?! This is how you build a loyal customer base. This is how you get customers to come back time and time again. All it takes is honesty and offering fair prices for good service. Highly recommend this Goodyear location to save money and not risk being ripped off! You'll be treated right here! (Also, do NOT go to Zimbrick for servicing, obviously)
