He seems to know what he is going. Did my keys correctly. It the price. The big box store did 1/2 my keys incorrectly. But, again I found the one I recommend. As I remarked, I've been fascinated by this place since I was a kid. What's not to love about coming in and seeing walls completely covered with key blanks and imagining the possibilities. Now, you have to know this isn't Walmart where you can get a key made for fifty cents (or whatever it is now). However, I've also never had to return a key to have it recut here. The array of key blanks is really amazing. If you bring in a key, chances are very VERY high that you'll walk out with your key duplicated. Service is fast, very friendly and the pricing is reasonable. Additionally, I tend to find things I need in there while I wait, like keychains, locks, etc. Bottom line - I make a very conscious effort to support this small business, and YOU SHOULD TOO. My senior father called them to install an entry door lock that needed replacement. When I saw the new lock a few days later, and wasn't completely happy with a few aspects of the installation, I called and they listened to my concerns and offered to return and make it right. The locksmith Fernando returned the next morning and fixed/addressed my concerns. They also charged a fair price for the install. Horrible don't waste your time. I called ahead and said exactly what I needed and was told no problem come down and I get there and the kid working has no idea how to cut the key. So I'm looking to get a replacement key for my truck's bed cover. I call this place up. A man named justin answers. I Tell him I want a key and said he can do it, so I go over. Keep in mind my cover doesn't even work properly! it won't open from the inside. I show up and he's in the back. This man comes out and examines my cover. He began to take apart the cover to the mechanism. We both saw one side wasn't opening. Long story short, we managed to get it working properly and i decided not to get a key cause it was safe and secure and I'll manage by opening from the inside. You can go to any locksmith for business, but it's really hard to find great costumer service. This man went above and beyond for me. Will be coming back for sure read more

I highly recommend Broadway Lock and Key. Upon entry I was greeted by David who was extremely helpful. No, let me go back... First of all, I called on the 4th of July and THEY ANSWERED! He politely explained that they were closed for the day but still answering calls for questions. That was a relief! The next day I was running late and barely made it before they closed. I was in desperate need of getting my new alarm transponder programmed. So anyway, I called to let him know I was on my way. I made it literally 2 minutes before closing. He still took me and had a great attitude about it. He finished programming the remote and had me on my way in about 10 minutes. This review is long overdue. 1 year ago I moved to E. LA to a cute 1930s home. The home came with a beautifully aged mortise lock. I thought it would be easy to change the lock myself and totally broke it. I called 4 locksmiths and only David said yes. He came to the house and 1 hour later repaired my mistake and changed the lock. We needed spare keys for the front door and he even got the spares to match the front door: antique! I had a key break off in a motorcycle disc brake lock and Dave tried everything he could technically to get the key out. It was stuck in the keyhole, he was working in the direct sunlight on hot concrete with 100° heat beating down and he just kept at it. Ultimately he asked me if he could cut it off with a grinder, as I was watching what he was doing and nothing else was working I agreed. He got to work cutting it off, after about 20 minutes he cut enough to pry it and crack it off without harming my disc at all. Very good job and allowed me to offer him a price I felt was fair. I was looking for a laser cut on keys (I had the blanks) for a 1989 Mercedes 560SL. Another local locksmith could not do it but quoted $48 per key -- Keep in mind that a special cutting machine is needed -- I was referred to a locksmith in Pico Rivera who wanted $85 per key but found Broadway Lock & Key on Yelp and they had the machine, cut my keys and charged $30 for a total of 3 keys! They were super fast, very efficient and reasonable to say the least. The shop is neat and organized. I highly recommend them. Let's shop local and whenever possible, avoid big box stores and support businesses like Broadway. They have a friendly staff too! read more

I had 8 locks fitted to all use the same key, a few doorknobs replaced, and my front door handle/lock repaired. David is a young business owner, which I like to support. However, despite being young, he knows his craft well. He was prompt, well priced, very polite and professional (I felt 100% comfortable having him in my house while I was home alone) and does very good work. My front door lock is antique and he was able to take it with him and figure out how to repair it. Being new to the area, I'm glad I have a locksmith to use going forward. Raul was very nice. He came to my condo, installed an electronic lock and it works. The job left a mess of metal shavings from drilling the door, even though he put a tarp down. But the tarp was useless because it wasn't taped down. So it was shifted every time he went in and out of the house, leaving metal shavings everywhere.
