My A/C stopped working. The tech came out, replaced a capacitor, retail cost of $15.00. I told them in advance that was likely the problem. He was done in 30 minutes. Charged $404. Outrageous. I put a note on my A/C to never use them again. read more

I had Broadview Heating and Cooling out for the annual AC check. The technician was very knowledgeable and spent considerable time getting the system in good working order. Once a great company, now.... Lost power and generator didn't come on-dead battery. I called. Rep said they'd call me tomorrow. I said never-ending, I can call myself. Power restored by utility. Called next day. When asked if my power was restored I told them it was so didn't need emergency call. I did tell them that I wanted to schedule annual check on furnace and generator but she should note they should bring a battery. Worker shows up, installs battery, checks oil. All good. I didn't see him for a bit so thought he was now checking furnace. NOPE. He said he was done. He was scheduled for emergency call and charged me $499+tax and wasn't going to look at furnace. I told Worker to tell his boss I wasn't going to renew annual contract I had had for a number of years. I told him, hold on, I'll call and tell them myself. I told them I no longer had an emergency but wanted to schedule annual check. Not the first time this company has incorrectly scheduled and costing me more than it should. Last time though! Rep couldn't have cared less. This is what has become of a once great company. Just milking more from long time customers. read more

We had a very expensive heating/cooling system installed a few years ago. We've been customers since 1979 when Tom's dad was in charge. On Christmas Day our furnace went out and I tried to leave a message at Broadview Heating for someone to call back and advise us how to fix it if we could. There was no voicemail--nothing. We're in our 70's and the temperature had dropped into the low 60's within a few hours. I started calling every HVAC business in the area. I finally got someone from Sal's to return my call. Furnace emergencies don't wait for non-holidays. Sometimes things need fixed on off hours. read more

Do not, I repeat DO NOT use Broadview heating a cooling. They came out to service my generator, never changed air filter with the service and did not fix the oil leak, that they claimed they fixed. They are refusing to come back to check there work unless I pay $100. They claim air filters are not changed with the service of a generator. Elizabeth the "dispatch manager" unwilling to let me speak to the owner Tom. Very poor customer service and for over $440 wasted of my hard earned money. read more

My furnace fan motor went out in the middle of a deep cold spell back in the winter. I called Broadview Heating to handle the repair and it couldn't have gone any better. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful of my home and family. The office kept me updated on arrival time and they were spot on with their scheduling. They're well equipped with mobile devices to handle payment on the spot, so once the technician was gone, nothing else needed to be done. Then, my water heater failed recently. I planned to ask Broadview Heating for a recommended repairman/company, but was really glad to find out that they handle those, too! The different technicians were just as good as the first. There's an obvious high standard of workmanship and professionalism with Broadview Heating, which has easily won all my business for any repair that I need that falls within their expertise. Whether for service calls or new installations I have trusted Broadview Heating and Cooling. I recently had two furnaces and air conditioners installed to replace aging units. The downstairs unit was installed in a day and everything came out perfect. However, I recommend clarifying what kind of thermostat and technology you would want because apparently the installed one did not even have the wifi connectivity that the old one had--this for a $10k installation. Had to pay an additional fee for that functionality. The upstairs unit was installed in 2 days but was a more difficult attic install. That install I was not as happy with. The thermostat they installed is not as capable as the downstairs one and the install was somewhat sloppy. Noticed afterwards that one of the ducts to one of the room's register was not even connected to the main outflow duct! I also found copper pipe, wood, used chaulk tube just thrown in the insulation and not disposed of properly. Also, the condenser line was not as well insulated and taped and the seams of the metalwork was not as tight and well-chaulked. Their initial proposal called for a concentric vent through the roof but the day of install, the tech said that he didn't want or have experience to do the roof flashing and pushed for a side vent. I would have thought for another $10k install that the thermostat would be similar and the work would be as good. Overall, I recommend Broadview Heating and Cooling. They are trustworthy and capable. read more

Stress to repair over replace if feasible and do not mark up their costs nearly as much as any other company I've worked for. Broadview more than doubled the price for parts for our repair, This put our bill 260.00 over the (reasonable) amount allowed for by the warranty company. We had budgeted the warranty deductible and ended up paying in excess of 300.00. Customer service who promised to call back twice in regards to this issue never returned any calls. read more
