The call from Sals to schedule the service was prompt and very thorough. It was the best bid and we…read morescheduled installation of new furnace at the end of the week. In the meantime I did the paperwork and arranged financing through Sal s partnership with Wells Fargo. The duo who did the install called 30 minutes before they came. They were prompt and thorough. They answered all my questions and in three hours had the new furnace finished and the area cleaner than when they arrived! I was extremely pleased and glad I chose them.

This whole experience has been a disaster. We got a quote back in April-May. Due to outside issues,…read morewe had to wait until now for install however I was told that we were still good to go. My entire family has used Sal's for as long as I can remember so I felt secure in their work. The team arrives and there was no plan in place. There was nothing provided to them through the estimate regarding what was needed. The team member that provided the estimate was no longer with Sal's and could not provide information. The technicians decided that they needed to completely take the furnace out to determine the plan. They then did rush to put it back in so that we were not without heat over a cold weekend which we did appreciate the effort. They said everything should be fine with the furnace itself. During the work, they ended up putting holes in our ceiling. Our estimate clearly states that we are responsible for any concrete damage but there is no mention of ceiling or wall damage. I expressed concern to management who stated that they generally don't repair this put would talk to the install team and call me back. This was almost a week ago. I have talked to a representative since who has continued to say that they will contact me. Radio silence but they have sent the invoice to get me to sign saying all work is done when it is clearly not. Fast forward to 1 day after the work is done. My husband and I smell gas and call the gas company. They say that it is the left burner valve on the furnace that looks like it wasn't put back on right. So we call Sal's, they send someone out and are now saying the valve is bad and probably the flame sensor. These things were not a problem before taking the furnace apart and the technicians did not seem to think they were an issue when they put it back together but now they want me to spend hundreds of dollars more on top of the thousands that I just spent after they come into my home and break the ceiling and now the furnace? This makes me so sad seeing as Sal's is the only company I have ever worked with but unless you want to bleed money, run.

There is *nothing* worse than your furnace going out when it's fifteen degrees outside. And even…read moreworse, realizing it was out on a Friday afternoon when the temperature outside is less than 15 degrees, a winter storm is bearing down on you and your house is steadily dropping in temperature (it made it down to 48 degrees inside the house). We called Len's who is our regular furnace/AC company and despite terrible road conditions, apparent problems with other customers, and a very long day, Mike made it to our house (but not up our driveway) around 9 pm. The prognosis was not good but here's what I appreciated: 1) He was very straightforward about what he knew and didn't know 2) He was very straightforward about time frames and options 3) He was very patient and thorough 4) His office gave him the option of going home, and he was the only technician still out doing calls because of the weather. He chose to keep working because people didn't have heat. Now, the cost was high. The house call was $225 dollars due to being after hours. He had a part that would potentially fix it but that was going to be another $700. We chose to think about that versus a new furnace and call in the morning. After a cold night and early morning, running space heaters all over the house, we decided to get the part in and take more time to consider the replacement at a time when the furnace wouldn't be an absolute necessity. He came back Saturday in the afternoon and replaced the electronics, and we have heat. Total cost was right around $1000. Len's has always been our furnace and a/c company. They have been honest and ethical throughout our dealings with them. It sounds expensive (it was) but if there is anything we learned from this experience, it is what we take for granted. And we have a new appreciation for our pioneer forebears, too. Some reviewers seem to think that there is a bias toward replacement of the whole furnace. We did not experience that - we felt no pressure to buy a new furnace, although the repair was about 1/3 what a new furnace would have cost. We had a great experience with Len's and they will continue to be our go-to furnace and A/C guys.

The Furnace was not coming on. They came out once and said they replaced the sensor. A few months…read morelater they cleaned the sensor because the furnace was still not working properly. We called another company that got it working immediately and they charged us less.
