My home warranty company referred me to Budget HVAC when my air conditioner wasn't working when I moved into my house 11 years ago and I've been using their services ever since. Mike, Moe, and Nate are all fantastic technicians and are always honest and reliable. They're very knowledgeable and work quickly to fix your furnace or AC when you need it the most! Whether you need a tune up, repair, or a whole new system installed, they can do it and at a very reasonable price! They service all makes and models of equipment. If you need to make an appointment, just call their office and Barb will be able to set you up! You'll get a text confirming your appointment with a 4 hour time slot. On the day of your appointment, you'll get a text with a link to track your technician's location so you'll know exactly when to expect them! I absolutely love this feature and wish more home service companies would utilize something similar. On one of the coldest days in January I called them them because my flames weren't firing on my furnace. They came within a few hours. They said it was a $89 service call . It would only be $39 if I needed a part. Within 30 minutes and a run out to his van ,the tech said it would be $380 in total. I was in a position where I needed heat. It took 2 minutes to install a $12 part which I bought at a appliance store the next day for a spare. I tried calling the next day to talk to someone about their price my calls were not taken, nor returned. Ide hate to see what they would charge for a $24 part from a appliance store. Highway robbery. Just don't. They came out to do estimate for a home warranty. Couldn't get anyone out for four days. My a/c made a loud pop and started hissing. My unit is a combo heat and a/c. He said the a/c portion was filled with oil and had lost all the refrigerant. Waited 6 days for them to turn estimate into the home warranty company. By this time it is 30 degrees at night and I have no heat because it is a combo unit. Warranty company denied claim because the estimate said they could not diagnose it because it was too cold out to run it. What? You can't run a unit filled with oil and with no refrigerant in it. Had to call another company that came out the same day that confirmed the unit was filled with oil and the compressor was shot. He didn't need to run it. Had an estimate the next day. read more

My furnace went out and since I have a home warranty they gave Budget Heating as the company that would service me. They called the next day to come out and service my furnace. They called me as I requested so I didn't have to miss a 1/2 day or whole day at work since i am only 10 to 15 minutes away from my home. They called and arrived on time. The 2 guys were very nice. When they told me what was needed and they would have to order it my heart fell. It was cold and I was thinking it is going to be a week before they get the part and the weekend was approaching. The one tech said that since I was totally without heat they make these cases a priority. I know how companies usually are with the home warranty customers because if they can make more money doing other jobs that warranty ones get pushed back. But not with Budget. I got a call the next morning saying they had located the part and would be out that afternoon to install it. The technician again called me when he was 20 minutes away. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. I will say with that home warranty this is the first time a company had not tried to add additional charges and I end up paying another $200 to $500 in addition to the Home Warranty service fee. Would I recommend them definitly. Would I use them for an item if it were not covered by the warranty yes. I feel they are an honest company. read more

When I bought my home, 11 years ago, I was fortunate to have a home warranty. When the heat didn't work, they ​referred me to Budget HVAC. Aside from one hiccup with a new technician, I've used them ever since and yearly sign up for their Spring/Fall tune up program. Sam is the best!! He's always been personalble, professional and honest about what is needed with both the AC unit and the furnace. He is very knowledgeable and works quickly to fix/maintain the unit. I have had Outstanding service from Budget HVAC. It is easy to make an appointment. The day of the appointment the technicians have always called prior to give me a time of arrival. The technicians are clean, courteous, efficient, and well skilled in their trade. They clean up after their work. They have always advised if there are future considerations that I should be aware of, and they have taken the time to explain it in a way I can understand. The home warranty company sent them out twice for my A/C. After the 2nd time, the technician reported to the home warranty company that I, the homeowner, had the disconnect replaced from their first visit (Tuesday, 9/5) to the 2nd visit (Thursday, 9/7) and it shorted the compressor to the ground. With the attached pictures, it is quite obvious that the disconnect was not replaced as it is a very old unit, of course that is, unless new disconnects come in rust color and undisturbed screws. Attached you will find their "findings" with the home warranty company along with the pictures of this so called new "disconnect" that Budget mentions in their report. When reviewing the electricians notes, there was no mention of replacing a disconnect nor did the electrician do any work near the unit. My complaint against them is a "professional" HVAC company can't tell the difference between a new and old disconnect (the pictures will tell the story on whether it is new or not) or they just are willing to lie to cover themselves. Budget did say they replaced an electrical part the first time they were here, no idea if it was what they installed caused the grounding issue or not but them lying about me having the disconnect replaced was very easy to disprove. I give this company 0 stars but had to give them 1 per Yelp.. As I have been reading through the reviews, I see that a common theme is occurring. A/c breaks down, schedule service through the home warranty, they come out, fix nothing, and leave. They make $100. Then they tell the home warranty that the a/c has been fixed and close the ticket. Now I am stuck without a working a/c and I'm out $100. I have put through 2 more follow ups with the home warranty company and the 1st follow up was ignored by Budget HVAC. I'm waiting to see if they follow through on this 2nd. I see all the terrible reviews are all from home warranty clients. If you don't want to service people with a home warranty, take your name off their contractor list. But I guess it's an easy way to scam a family out of $100. Its sad. I can't wait for them not to contact me after this 2nd request so I can go on every cities FB page and relay my awful experience. I guess this is what 8 days of no A/C does to you in the middle of July. Just wait until I'm 2 weeks without it, maybe crazy will come out. Anyways, Budget HVAC blows. If you have a home warranty and get assigned to them as your contractor, call your warranty company right away to have them assign you to a more professional provide. read more

They removed my last negative review. Showed up late. Did not give me any instructions on my new furnace. Ac stopped working Beverly was rude and unprofessional. Owner threatened to come to my house and cut out furnace. I just wanted someone to tell me why ac is now not working and was there a reason no one put a filter in when it was sitting there? The service and affordability was excellent! The technician was very courteous and honest! Another HVAC company that had accessed the problem told me that the furnace needed to be replaced. I didn't believe it because the furnace is not even 20 years old. So, I called another HVAC company for their opinion. But they wanted to charge nearly $100 just to come out. They told me that the charge was normal industry standard, which I knew was not true for all HVAC companies. So, I kept searching and found Budget HVAC. They came out and within minutes had the furnace working. The technician told me that It did not have to be replaced just cleaned. The total price for the visit, service and the repairs was less than $150. I am so impressed and grateful for this company that I just had to write a post. read more

I have American Home warranty for my heating and cooling. The warranty company goes through Budget For air conditioner. I called in regards to a noise I was hearing the warranty sent them out. On arrival I was told there was no noise and I was low of free-on. I had a video and wanted the technician to address it since that was my main concern. I was told that if it's working the noise is nothing and my plan doesn't cover free-on and it would be $190 to fill it. Of course I paid it's the middle of hot summer. A week later my house is at 85 degrees and no air conditioning when I turned off the until and turned it back on the fan blades weren't spinning that is indication the condenser motor failure. Which another company diagnosed and part will be here in a couple days. When I called Budget and the manager Mike screamed at me like I was a child and he was my father completely disrespectful towards women because I was completely scammed and wanted my money back. I just got off the phone with the warranty company and goes to show that my warranty does cover Free-on and they should of never charged me and they never submitted anything to them. Budget is a complete scam and if your a women stay far away because the manager Mike likes to scream at you like your his child. On Time, professional, quick. Not much more you can ask for. Our Tech (I am pretty sure his name was Nate) was great. He was fast and knowledgeable. It's great to have a company out for a repair and they don't tell you "Well it's just a fan motor but you should considering buying a whole new system from us." Sam is a lifesaver. Our a/c broke this past weekend, we had three 90 degree days in a row. I can imagine how many people face the same issue as us when the weather warms up. They are super busy right now and Sam squeezed us in because he Understands how frustrating this can be. He diagnosed our problem quickly and repaired the a/c unit quickly and efficiently. We are so relieved. After he fixed the AC he spent another 15 minutes with us explaining how we can avoid this problem in the future. Budget has a smart maintenance program that diagnoses any problems before the weather changes. units fail at the same time - when the weather changes and then you're fighting to get a service tech out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ! They were sent to us from our home warranty company. The guy who came out was a complete "know it all". We have a electric heat pump, and I was told that heat pumps are not make for the kind of weather we have in Cleveland (yea, I know) - AND even if I replace my furnace, I would still be cold. SO - if I want to be warm I should call up the gas company and "insists they run gas lines to my neighborhood". He never even opened the furnace panel, and he said my outside unit may need coolant. $200 dollars later (for the coolant) , we still did not have heat. I waiting a month....before calling my warranty company again - after "a few words" they did send a second company - who within minutes found I did not have one fuse firing on the furnace...so on days when the heatpump was not enough...the furnace could not kick in to help. Parts were ordered - installed - and NOW WE HAVE HEAT....AMAZINGLY. I called back Budget HVAC - all they could do was bad mouth the second company's workers. I'm still out $200 for "coolant" that was added(?) If what I was told about the furnace was incorrect...how am I to believe they really put coolant into my heatpump ? We lived for a month in temp between 50 - 66 degrees. (We includes my 80 yr old mom!) Shame on you Budget HVAC. read more

Beware!!! Used through American Home Shield warranty. They claimed that my furnace had water damage and that I needed to purchase a whole new one which would cost over $4000. My furnace has zero water damage. I requested a copy of the report from budget and they would never provided. Fortunately I was able to get a second opinion from another company through my warranty company. They came out and verified there was no water damage. My furnace sensor just needed to be cleaned. My furnace is now working perfectly. The other company verified there's no reason why I would need a new furnace. Budget was simply looking to get my claim denied through the warranty company so I would pay them out of pocket over $4000. This was a horrible experience and everyone who works with the budget should be careful and always go and get a second opinion. Budget is not trustworthy or honest. Do not use them. I am a healthcare worker. I am not these people actual customer. Wrote a review and this is what happened. The actual owner called me. Accused me of being a liar and not his employee as if he was there at the time. Not only that he was very unprofessional and seemed to not have great customer service skills himself. When I told him where I worked and that I don't have to lie. He proceeded to say he did not care, oh by the way in a raised voice. I got hung up on and threatened with a lawsuit among other things. This company was referred by my home warranty company and should not have been even reaching out to me like that. I called my company and told them to not send these people out to my home again. Our furnace quit working in the middle of January. Talked to the office and a very friendly lady expedited our problem. Nate came out the next morning and found the problem within minutes. He called his office and had them order the part. The office called me back within the hour and said they found the part and would be out in the morning. Although I love Yelp, at times I have to take what people say with a grain of salt. I too had my home warranty company dispatch Budget on a 95 degree Sunday, and they called me the next day and came out by 3:00 pm. Sam showed up as promised, was super nice, had a uniform, and even cared about not walking into his house with his shoes. He not only quickly fixed the issue, but even showed me an easy way to clean the unit with a simple brush. I would highly recommend Budget to anyone that needs a quality HVAC company. I must say that based upon the Yelp review I read, I did not want to use this company. In fact, I asked the home warranty company to give me someone else but they said they could not reassign my work. Mike the technician was very quick to find the problem with my AC and even quicker to replace the part and get my AC up and working. Our heat went out on Friday night of the coldest week of the year. We were freezing and desperate. We saw the good reviews and decided to call on Saturday morning. By 2, Sam was here and went straight to work. He diagnosed the issues quickly, communicated what was going on and what my options are, requested a discount for me from the office since I had to pay the emergency service call fee, and got everything in shape in under an hour. I was as pleased with his friendly personality as I was his technical expertise. I will definitely call Budget for all my HVAC needs going forward. And I will ask for Sam. You should too. read more

This company was awful and were sent out to us as part of a Home Warranty. The technician Zach was rude, clumsy and incompetent. He brushed us off even though we knew what the A/C problem was and had proof of the issue, he refused to acknowledge. When I asked him to hold on while I called the office he literally ran out of the house saying he had other customers and didn't work for us and sped away as fast as he could; their office offered NO assistance. They also refused to file a service report with the Warranty company as requested. Don't waste your valuable time and money dealing with them. After reading other reviews it appears to me that when Budget is sent out as part of a Home Warrany is when they receive the majority of their negative reviews. Maybe they try to get by doing as little as possible because the Warranty Co has an agreed contract with them, therfore they do as little as possible and care nothing about the customer. Goes to further show me their lack of professionalism and ethics and screwing the consumer. read more

I recently purchased this house & it came with a home warranty. I called for service because my furnace has had a mind of its own lately! It would turn on & run a short time then shut down, then turn back on in a few minutes, run a short time & shut down again. It would repeat that cycle several more times until it finally warmed the house up. Warranty company arranged for Budget HVAC to come out to inspect. I must admit when I looked at their reviews online I was somewhat worried because some were not very favorable. However, Sam was the repairman that was sent & he was outstanding! He was right on time, very courteous & friendly & extremely knowledgeable. He understood exactly what was wrong when I explained the symptoms. August 31, 2015 Edward C. Our central air went out on this past Sunday and I have American Home Shield for my home warranty. AHS assigned a company that I could not get in contact with so I called and requested another service provider that could come immediately same day because I explained I have a sick wife and sick son both disabled and they needed the air immediately. Budget Heating and Air Conditioning came as a result and their service man whose name is Sam came and i explained the severity of the situation and he jumped right on it and and found our issue and had the repairs done in a very, very short period of time and he answered all of my wife's concerns about our system and was extremely kind, knowledgeable and professional!!! He was literally a life saver since the temperature hit almost 90 right before it was fixed. Thanks Sam for an AWESOME JOB WELL DONE!!!! This company came because they were the chosen vendor to inspect an HVAC issue through our home warranty. Their technician came in and completely scared us, saying there was a crack in one of our cells and it was rusted out, even leaking carbon monoxide, and we needed a replacement immediately. He also strongly advised us not to turn it on or use it. He then told the warranty company to deny our claim. We of course fought it and the warranty company sent out a second HVAC company to get a second opinion. The second opinion said there was absolutely nothing wrong, and said that Budget is known for doing that - using scare tactics then telling the warranty company to deny your claim - in order to get you to purchase a new HVAC system through them. We got our own third opinion since we did not trust anyone the warranty company was sending out, and they also said nothing was wrong. Budget claimed they took several pictures in order to prove the damage to the warranty company. When I requested the pictures from Budget, they claimed they only download them once a week but they would try to send them to me that day. I still have not received them days later. Stay away from this company. read more
