I was excited to transfer our family to Beacon Dental. Before I made the appointments, I verified…read morewith the BD office staff and our insurance company (by phone) that BD was in network under our plan. However, in the weeks between the date when I scheduled our appointments and the date of our appointments, they discontinued coverage under our insurance company. Did they have a sign in the lobby indicating major changes in their insurance coverage? No. Did they send us a letter? No. An email? No. Did they notify me verbally when I presented our (newly out of network) insurance card at the desk? No. When I was sitting in the chair and they proposed doing x-rays and I asked them whether they would be covered, did they notify me that they would not? No! Instead, they told me they were covered under my plan. It wasn't until I checked out to pay, after x-rays and a cleaning and an initial consultation, that the clerk informed me that I would be paying out of pocket. When I asked why they didn't provide any notification of their discontinuation of coverage, she became aggressive and defensive. Run far and fast from this practice!

I had a hard time paying for do to being injured at work and did not have the funds . Glad I did not pay the whole tooth fell off 6 months later and was out of the area and had to have repaired . 2 years later the 2nd repair is still holding good. The staff and dentist were great , polite , professional and feel bad I did not have the opportunity to go back and repair the tooth but was out of the state . Unfortunately that 400 cost me 200 elsewhere and now the 400 is on my credit report for xollection

We had been going to Dr. Kolb for over 3 years and loved him and everyone in the office until our…read moremost recent experience, which was horribly unprofessional. I took my 5 year old son in for a cavity filling with Dr. Kolb and he quickly lost his patience with my son who was nervous and wiggly. He poked him repeatedly with the needle while trying to numb him and caused my son to be very upset and scared. Then he scolded me for trying to talk to my son and calm him down. After about 10 minutes he completely lost his patience and told us to reschedule and we would try again with some gas. I made our next appointment with Dr. Kolb again but my son was too scared to see him so I rescheduled with Dr. Robison only to then have the receptionist call me back to say that the doctors felt it was best to not see my son at all and have us go to a pediatric dentist. I found this to be incredibly unprofessional to make the receptionist call me and not talk to me themselves to discuss my sons care. We did end up seeing the pediatric dentist which then cost me double what I would have paid originally but my son did great. Took less than 5 minutes and no tears. Amazing how a little patience can make a difference. Also the pediatric dentist told us he only had 1 cavity that needed filling and not 2 like Dr Kolb said, which makes me wonder how many other cavities he has been filling unnecessarily. Save your money and go see someone else who actually cares about their patients.
