These people make some great beer. I went to the Jersey City Beer festival a few months ago and had a fantastic time drinking their beer. The one beer that enjoyed the most was from the Brix City Brewery. I hung out by their tent most of the time I was there. It has body and a nice hazy look to it. It is what I believe a great IPA should be. I plan to go to the brewery soon for a visit and maybe a tour. They clearly sold me on their beer. I finally went to the brewery and the atmosphere was very nice. There was a chill environment with some live music playing. The server was very welcoming and helpful making suggestions and recommendations. Unfortunately, we tried three different beers and all of them were warm! I'm sure there must have been a problem with their refrigeration because that's not the way to serve beer. I left and went to Hackensack brewery where they always serve cold beer. I've been to this location 3x now. Their beer is very solid and IPA heavy, which is good for me personally. The "Jams" seem to be variations of their flagship beers and were pretty tasty. My only negative is the pricing. It is $7-8 for an 8oz pour. With all due respect, the best breweries in the world do not charge those prices and we are sitting in a warehouse in Little Ferry with zero atmosphere. My fiancée and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and we had a great time! There was plenty of parking in the lot and outdoor seating available. We each tried beer flights consisting of some ipas, light beers, and stouts. I liked the variety of beer they had on tap. They allow you to bring your own food. Been going there sporadically since they opened. Great location in the industrial section. Due to recent changes in NJ laws they have someone making personal pizzas, etc. on weekends ( in good weather \ outside) Beers are generally good with many varieties. Only thing I am not a fan of is that the staff isn't that friendly. Every time I stop in ( and not enough to be called a Regular or recognized), they seem aloof and snarky. They light up when their friends come in, but.... Prices are a bit on the high side for a craft brewery compared to others in the area but of course it's all subjective. If you like it, you pay for it. One other negative is that the place smells. Nothing bad, smells like roasted wort or grain. Yes, I know that is an odor from the brewing process, but I've been to every other brewery in northern NJ and never was it this strong and offensive. IDK, maybe invest in a better venting system? My latest outing for a brewery was with Brix City and apparently I had on my "to try" Yelp list. Not exactly my favorite beer session with a brewery but far from the worst. Just kind of in the middle. We had three beers from this particular brewery, all different beer styles which we felt gave us a broad range of what the brewery is like. The first was the O.G. Kolsch. Kolsch beers have become a favorite of mine. This particular one tasted more like a pale ale however which was a bit perplexing. It was very sessionable and fruity in it's features. After that was Fruitastic Voyage. There is a whole variety of fruit beer flavors under this name. We had Strawberry, Apricot, Rhubarb and Dragon Fruit. All these rolled into one made a pretty sweet tasting beer but it wasn't as heavy on the stomach as I was expecting like many fruit beers are. The last beer was Gloria, a blonde ale. Normally I really go for blonde ales as they are light and breezy, often with a good bready flavor. This blonde had kind of a strong banana flavor like what you see in some Hefeweizens however. All in all not the most memorable outing but did like the fruited beer. It was also confusing having beer taste like one beer style when it's labeled as one that doesn't match the taste. read more

Been here many times over the years plus once during COVID, so when my wife said she wanted to come here due to a new slushee, I obliged. Food: she ordered a flight which included (top to bottom) the Palm Tree Picnic DIPA, Microphone Czech dark lager, Gloria belgian blonde, and Drawing Straws DIPA. She enjoyed all four and then ordered the slushee which was a mix of the Gloria, cherry, and pineapple. Absolutely delicious even though I don't drink. Aesthetic: classic microbrewery feel as always. Brix City features a big space without a bunch of frills. In other words it is perfect for going to get a beer and relax. As with almost all breweries in NJ, you can order in food. The names of the beers at Brix City are hilarious. For example, as of this writing there is a brew called "Cheap Labor." But how do they taste? Honestly everything was very good. The IPAs stood out the most. I know IPAs may be a bit overdone right now but if you are still crazy about them, order them here. read more

Great time at Brix City. The building itself is larger than expected with a few parking spots in the front. The space inside is large with a bar area and lots of picnic-style tables. It was not too crowded surprisingly for a Friday night. There are a lot options there with various types of beer. The individual beers range from $6-8. A flight was about $14. The bartenders there were also very nice and acccomodating. They do welcome pets (or at least dogs?!) as there were a few dogs there at the time. I even saw a baby there. :) There is a small merchandise area where you can buy some hats and t-shirts. They also offer canned beer for you to buy to go if you want to. I'm not typically a beer person (definitely prefer red wines and cocktails) but to my surprise, I liked every single beer that I tried here. I recommend getting the flight of beers to start & if your friends get it too, you can try even more. The craft beers are so flavorful and the prices are very reasonable. They take credit card here which is always a plus. Space is large but if it gets crowded it may be a big difficult to find a table, but there are plenty of barrels that you can rest your beer on. In 2010, co-founder Pete left the Army after serving in the infantry for four years, two of which were spent in Germany where he began to appreciate the many different styles of beer. Upon his honorable discharge, he was unsure of what he was going to do with his life. I've been dying to go to Brix City Brewing for quite some time. I've been trying to go on a week night, but they close a bit too early (9 pm). Every time I made plans to go, I'd always have to cancel because it became too late. I finally was able to go this past Thursday. I arrived a little before 8pm, and I was able to share a flight with my friend and grab a draft for myself before close. When we arrived, I thought we were at a school for a second. It did not look like a brewery! First off, the prices are right. Every draft seems to be $4 or $5. They have a good selection of beer, but like someone pointed out, they do have a lot more double IPA's on tap. I'm not really an IPA girl, but I was able to find enough different beer to try that I thoroughly enjoyed. The stout and Blonde Ale were excellent. Also, Williams Kellerbier was delicious too. The inside is a bit small, but it wasn't crowded, so my friend and I were able to grab a picnic table. We brought a pizza with us and enjoyed it with the sampling of beer we ordered. The bartenders were super friendly and helpful. I certainly hope to hit up Brix City again, especially since it's so close by! read more

Spent a few hours at Brix City with some friends on Saturday and had a great time. They have a decent number of seating options - a few indoor picnic tables, bar seats, barrels with extra folding chairs, and an area in the back with more tables that was roped off for private parties. They also had an assortment of games (Jenga, checkers, etc.) and allow you to BYO food. The staff were super friendly and knowledge; very welcoming to groups and even small children. Most importantly - they have an extensive selection of juicy New England IPAs and offered full pours and flights. Finally checked this place out and it's a forever bookmark! The brewery is located in a small road of an industrial zone, it's certainly a rare find in Jersey. The warehouses around the brewery were closed on the weekends so they basically own the whole area. Fiancé and I always love a cold, refreshing beer and that Saturday afternoon the sun was beaming down and we knew we made the right decision to stop by. Great for the COVID season, they have a nice outdoor seating space under a large tent. There are around 4 picnic tables and a couple of barrels as tables, meant for 1-2 people. I like how they used wooden pallets and constructed a fence around the tent, clever. A notable draft was their Triple Swirlpool IPA. It tasted like a creamy, fruit smoothie (in a beer form). You can taste hints of coconut and strawberry. It was delicious so we bought home a pack of 4. My first cup of beer was Cloud of Sound, an American pale ale, which was a lighter beer but I really enjoyed it. I will go back again to try their seasonal. read more

Top notch brewery with excellent beer. They have a great selection of beers on draft and in cans for take out. We were out in this place by a friend of ours that knew we were in the area. We're glad we took his recommendation and we're very happy with his suggestion. I rate them as 4 stars because of the quality of beer, but there were 2 things that we didn't love. First, they don't serve food, which we can readily adapt to since they do allow outside food. The second, which is a little disappointing is that they don't have outdoor seating. It's 2022 into the 3rd year of COVID; to me it seems like it should be a given that outdoor seating is an option. Another example of craft breweries killing it in NJ. We went first to Alementary with friends in Hackensack. I had been there before. Next hubby and I wanted to try Brix City. Like Alementary, in a very industrial side street...but more easy parking. Frankly, both places super busy Sunday afternoon of President weekend. Brix a larger space. Super friendly servers and customers around us. We did not care for DopeNose but liked everything else. They had a citrusy one with grapefruit rinds--delicious. Sharp contrast but equally good, a milk stout with maple syrup and vanilla. A perfect and different small glass of beer (not one for a pint IMHO). But sweet and tasty dessert style, an ideal short glass of a different style beer. We came home with a growler of Cheap Labor. One very cool thing: they had a chalk board saluting other NJ craft breweries such as Alementary, Magnify, Carton, Dark City, and more. This is what makes the craft brew trend SO COOL. Brix city is the best brewery Ive been to thus far, Almost every single beer on the menu was a contender to be my favorite, which is rare for me (im super picky). But really, each of their beers are packed wIth flavor and have a great taste. Not to mention, the abv content is pretty high so you can bet you'll be happy and drunk with only a few drinks! I came on a bustlin Saturday night, so the brewery was packed. There is alot of picnic tables to sit and standing barrels and a long bar for those who cant snipe a seat. There was loud music playing, and it really felt more like a bar than a brewery. The brewery part was sectioned off in the back, and we didnt do a tour, but they offer brochures in the front with a guide about the facility and how the brew their beers. The bartenders were super friendly and gave great recommendations for those who arent super knowledgeable about different types and their selection. Overall, for the cheap beers, good taste, and great music/vibe, Brix City has definitely made my top 10 list of breweries! Definitely recommend for anyone in town. read more

Brix City is one of the best NJ breweries I've checked out to date. Even though they're right across the river, it's been surprisingly difficult to find their stuff in the city, making a trip right to the source especially worth it. They seem to have a special talent for NEIPAs, with a bunch of juicy, smooth hazies on tap that are perfect for summer weather. There's something here for everyone, though, as we also tried a smoothie sour and barrel-aged stout that were both excellent. $5-6 a draft pour is a nice surprise when you've been conditioned on NYC prices (ugh), and the cans and bottles are similarly pretty reasonably priced! I never realized there was a brewery in bergen county. I knew it was a micro brewery due to the location. It was exactly what I had expected of a local brewery in little ferry but even smaller as there were only like 5 tables to sit and drink.. The bartenders were really friendly. Also, the price of the 4 sampler, choose any beer for $9. Super cheap. I'm personally not a fan of double ipa but half of their menu was DIPA. I tried the chocolate maple hazelnut dipa and it was excellent! Although I liked this dipa I tried, I wish they would have more wheat beer or other fruity beer that are not as strong. I also tried the pina colada flavored IPA since they only had 2 types of cans to go. It was either pina colada IPA or another DIPA. I liked the pina colada one but I found the cans to be a bit expensive. Overall, it's very local and cute brewery that's bring your own food. I would probably be a regular here now. I have been dying to hit the NJ Brewery scene for the last couple of years and last week I made my first visit to Brix City Brewing. Now, I have only been living in NJ for the last 6 months and it has been a new adventure for my wife and I. While she grew up in NJ; I was a city kid. Not use to the industrial look of the area and Brix City Brewing is located in one. On our first visit we drove by the place and drove into the wrong parking lot. It was the wife's fault, but once you find the joint it is a spacious space with that brewery feel. Industrial brewery look inside with a half dozen tables. Plenty of space to roam and enjoy beers. Yes beers. Now, I don't get into the fine points of beer making, tasting, etc. Bottom line, I line to taste them all and then enjoy my favorite style; IPA. I am a big fan of breweries. Love to go to them and chill while drinking beers. I enjoy tasting; commenting; just having fun exploring the product of love that these men and women produce for us to enjoy. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours and enjoy life with the nectar of the gods' "BEER". Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Made to feel welcome, special and appreciated. Background music. Not many people on a Thursday night a couple of weeks ago in the cold weather, but had a great time enjoying some good tasting beers. Brix City Brewing will probably be my go to brewery since it is 6 or 7 miles from home. The wife is a good sport and allows me to enjoy while she is the designated diver. I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and I was pleasantly surprised. Its tucked away on a side road off of Route 46. Its small inside but they have a bunch of community type tables. My friend and I brought sandwiches and ate them there. The guys working there were super friendly and informative. We both tried a flight each, and i have to say i was a fan of all the beers, which is not always the case. The beer was quality. It was $8 for a flight. It can be a little chilly inside so make sure to bring a sweater or jacket. I definitely will come back with a group of friends, bring some food, some games, and enjoy their beer. read more

They started out with a lot of different IPAs but now they have a wheat, dubbel, pilsner and many more to come. They keep it interesting and I keep coming back for more.
