Hello. Mollie here. I would like to file an official…read morestatement regarding Grant Veterinary Care. Let's start with the facts: 1. I was not there for fun. 2. There were no treats. 3. I had mastitis. 4. I was deeply offended by all of it. I arrived uncomfortable, slightly grumpy, and prepared to object to everything. This was not a "happy tail" visit. This was a "something is wrong and I feel 0% fabulous" situation. And yet. The humans there were calm. Gentle. Respectful of my personal bubble (which was very important because I was tender and not in the mood). The doctor examined me carefully and didn't rush. My human looked relieved, which matters because when my human relaxes, I relax. No one called me dramatic. Even though I was a little dramatic. Which was justified. They explained what was happening, gave me medicine to fix the situation, and treated me like I was more than just "a case." I was a patient. A brave, slightly irritated, very good patient. Was it fun? No. Was it necessary and handled with care? Absolutely. Five stars. Because even when I felt awful and there were no snacks involved, they took good care of me. I still expect compensation in the form of extra belly rubs at home. -- Mollie

For a smaller vet they are well ran and clean and prices are Amazing compared to current places I've dealt with. The staff are amazing and I even spoke with the actual Vet and she was kind and helpful. My fosters have been treated amazing and kindly and have gotten great care. Will def recommend and use them in the future. Great Vets are hidden gems these days

Over the years, my pup has been treated by Dr. Barker, Dr. Perkins, and Dr. Shields. All of whom have always provided caring, gentle care. The vet techs and assistants are equally as wonderful and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. During the eight years that my pup has been a patient he has been through some pretty gnarly situations and the BAH team has been unfaltering in their care and treatment of both my pup and my myself. I highly recommend checking out the wellness programs that they offer. I have a wellness plan for my pup and it has saved me loads of money over the years and brings me peace of mind when needing to get my pup in for a quick, last minute vet exam for whatever unforeseen situation we find ourselves in. The wellness program is also excellent when it comes to dental cleanings! I've had my pups teeth cleaned yearly with them and am so grateful for it. Improper/poor dental hygiene is detrimental to our creatures, especially as they age. 10/10 recommend Barker Animal Hospital.

It is obvious to me how much they love the animals in their care, as shown through how they treat ours. Through our dog's major Cardiac scare, they made sure to work with me to get the best care for him. We are a military family that has moved a lot, and this is by far my favorite vet office we've been with. I will be sad when the day comes that we have to leave!

But after having 3 different awful experiences with this woman I cannot stay silent. My first encounter with her that went awfully was when I had brought me and my moms new puppy and intended to carry him so he did not have a leash since I was conscious about him touching the floor and carts being I did not know how well they had been cleaned and he had no vaccines yet and I was unsure if his mother had any vaccines. She spoke down to me once again, forcing me to put a slip lead on him and put him in a cart despite me being uncomfortable with this.  The next time we had been late on our puppies vaccines and he had to restart his vaccine course to which this woman spoke down to me and my mother about how if we had come in earlier he wouldn't have had to restart and in general was rude and nasty.  This last experience that I had yesterday is by far the worst and inexcusable. My personal dog who is human reactive had been muzzled bc he is large and scary when he barks but has 0 bite history. I stood with him near the door to try and catch the woman and ask her about where we should stand because my dog sometimes barks at people. when she came out she very rudely told me people had been waiting and I couldnt cut in line. I expressed that i was trying to alert her to my dog and keep him from people to which he is reactive. She told me she would have to help the others first and that the line started in the back. I assured again that was fine and she started helping people to which my dog started screaming because he saw another dog and got excited so she told me to go wait on the other side. I moved me and my dog to the other side of the door behind a pillar and was giving him treats and praise for ignoring the people and dogs. She came back to told me I needed to wait around the other side of the building all the way at the end and she would get me. I waited out there for 20-30 minutes crying because she made me feel shamed for trying to properly keep my dog under control and everyone comfortable. My mother ended up coming to help me speak to someone because of the treatment and we went straight back to the manager to speak yo him and were placed in line. When we walked in she tried to make an excuse that she somehow didnt know I was waiting outside despite her telling me to wait there. Everyone was amazing and helped us perfectly fine until my mother was trying to check out at the front with some items she was purchasing and heard the front desk woman telling other customers to "watch out for the girl and her mom with the muzzle dog who was lunging at others" to which my mom had an argument with her and left. My mom called me and informed me she was up there speaking about us and the woman standing in line next to us informed me that she had also been given the same warning about me and my dog and I alerted the manager of this. As I was leaving she was once again speaking about me and my dog If you look at any other negative review of this clinic it mentioned this woman and her repeated behavior like this. So this begs the question: are some dogs inherently less deserving of vet care because of their reactivity and does this woman get to decide?

I have been going to this clinic for a decade but will no longer be going here because recently…read morethey stopped letting pet owners go w/their pets to receive vaccines which I find to be highly suspect. The big reason though is they would only sell me 6mo. worth of heartworm medication when I normally buy a years worth because it is cheaper that way. The want me to pay for 2 tests a year when no other vet in this country does that. Of course they did not tell me this until AFTER doing the test so now I am forced to pay for it. My dog has NEVER lapsed on his tests or medications so there is NO REASON for them to not sell him a years worth of medication. This is VERY SHADY business & I wonder if it is fraud. I will be looking into it.

We have an elderly dog with a heart condition, and the receptionist told me that I could fill out exemption papers to get the rabies vaccine waived, based on the doctor's recommendation. However, when I got there, the tech told me that the vet wouldn't even look at our dog without the shot. Our dog is too frail, and I asked them to at least look at her first, but he gave a firm No. And then he told me that unfortunately the people at the front desk don't always have all the information that goes on in the exam. I said that the front desk was our first line of communication. If they don't have the correct information, then who does?? Unfortunately, I had already made a down payment to hold the appointment, which they said they would refund, but I have yet to see if they refund the whole amount.

When a vet tells you to google options for your dogs health condition...NOPE. AVOID.

I visited twice with a puppy for vaccines/exam and a urinary tract infection…read more PRO: Techs were very nice and sweet on both visits CONS: *Lobby is dark, empty and depressing. No pictures on the wall, no music, no cute animal anything. It feels tense and uncomfortable. *Receptionists are not friendly. They didn't say hello, make eye contact or acknowledge my pup. I don't expect a parade, but a "hi puppy" would be nice. *There is absolutely no rush to do anything. Paperwork, returning phone calls, getting meds, etc. I almost got the feeling that I was being made to wait on purpose *Dr. Bryan was one of the most awful vets I've ever encountered. I worked in the vet field for 20 years in 3 states and I can say 1000% he should not be a vet. He was rude, condescending and arrogant. He's a vet who does not want to be told there is another way other than his. He cares zero about the clients opinions and turns aggressive if you challenge him or ask questions. My pup had a urinary issue and Dr. Bryan did a urinalysis, which came back clean. He refused to listen to her symptoms though, and decided it was a potty training issue. He then proceeded to lecture me on how to do it. This was after talking to him and the assistant about me being a dog trainer and vet tech. When I told him that her symptoms were mimicking a uti, he got angry and pulled out the test results and told me "my machine doesn't lie". I don't appreciate being talked down to, especially when I took her to another vet the next day and she DID have a uti. *Charges for services not performed and doesn't talk to you about pricing beforehand. I was charged for a service that wasn't performed and charged for one that I didn't agree to. They refused to refund the second charge and told me the manager would call me back. It's been 6 weeks and I'm still waiting. *Recommends unhealthy, processed kibble. Dry kibble is literally the worst of all dog foods to feed. And here is a vet telling me that Purina Pro Plan is "great". I was floored. This food is one of the lowest rated foods in terms of ingredients, quality, environmental consciousness, animal testing/abuse and healthiness. So I'm supposed to trust this person with my animal's medical care, while he's in essence telling me to feed them McDonald's every day?? That's a big nope
