Fresh oil change and fresh scratch. (Scratch below handle)
Orrin S.

If a finger can remove dust. What keeps an object capable of penetrating clear coat, paint, primer, and metal. From removing dust. ? You cannot say from simply viewing these photos that there is "dust over the scratch" the particles that you see at the edge of scratch are displaced materials as listed above. I again reinforce the complete lack of accountability by this establishment. Future customers may way to take photos of their vehicles before risking service. Once again, the finger was ran over the scratch to show the employee that this was not a simple smudge. The presence of dust makes no sense unless you can prove that there is dust on the obviously fresh metal gouge. The employee took no photos for documentation while I was on site and immediately identified this when my vehicle was pulled out for me. (See business sign above my car). The only guidance from the employee upon this discovery was " we will have to wait until Monday to see the parking lot footage" There is zero expectation of reimbursement by this business judging by the interactions. My only hope is that this serves as a warning to potential future customers.

Peter not only started looking at it immediately, he cleared a bay in his shop and then identified the issue.

I can't recommend European Autocare and One Stop Shop highly enough…read more I was first introduced to European Autocare when AAA towed my Porsche Cayenne there after a strange issue where the audio system kept shutting down and draining the battery. The AAA driver recommended the shop, and I'm so glad he did. George, the owner, is a genuinely kind and honest gentleman. He spent about 20 minutes carefully diagnosing the problem and told me, very transparently, that it wasn't something his shop could fix--that I would need to go to the dealer for a replacement part. He didn't charge me a dime for his time. That level of honesty is rare. Since then, I've been going to him for regular maintenance on my older vehicle, and every experience has been excellent. The team is consistently professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Pricing has always been fair--no pressure, no upselling, and absolutely no price gouging. Recently, I needed help with a bumper issue on another car and found out George also runs a body shop in San Marcos. Even though they're normally closed on weekends, he made a special exception to meet me there. When I asked if I could pick up the car at his Rancho Bernardo location after the repair, he didn't hesitate to accommodate. On top of that, my car was extremely low on gas, and he told me not to worry about it--he'd take care of it so I could get back without any issues. That kind of above-and-beyond service truly earns lifelong customers. It's rare to find an auto shop that combines honesty, skill, fairness, and genuine care for customers. George and his team set the standard. I wholeheartedly recommend European Autocare in Rancho Bernardo and One Stop Shop in San Marcos.

I was disappointed Johnny did not point out the hood was scratched, so I had to go to the owner, George to get that repaired. The repair took a long time for a simple item then the car was damaged. When I complained they were not easy to deal with. Repair #2 Valve Gasket Covers on my 2005 ML500 $780. The job was done in less than a day, but when the car came back it smelled of gas so badly I called European Auto Care back but was advised they would not be able to review the problem for at least a week. The recently repaired valve cover still leaks, my new mechanic found a stripped screw among the at least five (5) loose screws - whilst re-securing the cover. European Auto Care needs to address some important issues.

Bottom Line Upfront: Miramar Auto Repair is one of the best values of any auto shop in San Diego…read more Jason and Pedro were exceptional in taking care of me, and finding a solution to a very technical challenge. I brought in my Honda Ridgeline for an issue with my AC. Jason worked with me at the front-desk and went above and beyond to understand my issue and the troubleshooting I had already done. He explained to me CONCISELY what the feasible issue may be, and how they were going to approach a diagnosis. Jason was extremely knowledgeable, and followed up promptly to discuss the fix. Pedro was also exceptional. He found the issue (rodent-chewed wires) and repaired it perfectly. When I picked up my car, he was as excited as I was to have helped me. Before Miramar Auto, I took my truck to the Honda dealer, and they charged twice as much for a diagnosis, only to tell me that I would need a new compressor (incorrect diagnosis) and that it would cost twice as much as I ended up paying out the door at Miramar auto. I couldn't believe how easy Miramar Auto made it. To say that Jason, Pedro, and Miramar Auto are honest, fair, and made me feel taken care of... would be an understatement. They have rightfully earned another lifelong customer. Thank you Miramar Auto!

I came in for a Toyota hybrid brake calibration since I tripped ABS codes when doing a brake bleed…read moreat home. Wife and I communicated to Miramar Auto Repair first thing Monday to help us do the calibration. Plans changed so we rescheduled for Tuesday. That reschedule got us a different sales representative. He thought we needed a simple brake flush. This miscommunication lead to a 1-hour appointment with a $200+ bill for a service I already did to the car and the original problem wasn't solved. After some problem-solving and listening to the recorded phone call, we found where the miscommunication was. There's nothing better than a shop who listens to their customers, understands exactly what they need, and executes. Miramar Auto Repair did exactly that once we talked it out and removed the charge for the flush. I was out in 10 minutes after the calibration and am very happy with the end result. Thank you! I have found my trusted shop now.

DO NOT GET SCAMMED LIKE I DID! I've been bringing multiple cars to this shop since 2022. That ends…read morenow. Less than 2,000 miles ago, during an oil change, I specifically asked them to check my brakes and was told they "looked good." After recently hearing metal-on-metal, I brought the car back and was told I needed new brakes and rotors. Only then was I informed the brakes had not actually been inspected because the tires couldn't be removed--something that was never communicated at the time. For context, this same shop replaced my brake pads and rotors less than 20,000 miles ago, which makes this situation even more concerning. I was quoted $900 for the repair. I got a second opinion and found a more reasonably priced and transparent shop. This raised serious concerns about whether I was being properly advised in the first place. When I declined the repair, I was told the vehicle could not be taken unless it was towed, requiring me to arrange and pay for a tow just to retrieve my own car. Given that this involves a critical safety system that I specifically asked to be checked, the lack of communication is unacceptable. After years of trusting this shop with my vehicles, this experience showed a clear lack of transparency and accountability. Lesson learned. I will be reporting this. Do not go here.
