While the food is great! Apparently, there is a new policy where "large" orders are not accepted between the hours of 11am and 2 pm. I suppose "large" is 3 loaded tots/fries, a loaded potato and 2 lunch meals. Not to mention, we did try to call ahead so they could be prepared but was told they didn't take large orders over the phone until 2. Nothing was said about large orders in person. I work for a local company that USED to frequent Bristol BBQ for lunch, but not anymore! We'll take our business somewhere they want it. read more

Best BBQ in the area. Must try if you've never had you're food prepared on a Big Green Egg. This is real BBQ, not the smoked ham sliced and slathered like an ArbyQ pablum that's served around here. The meet is sweet with just the right hint of smoke to flavor it. Slaw actually comes on the sandwich without having to buy it as a side and apply it yourself. A novel concept lost on most East Tennesseans. Again, some people call smoked ham BBQ around here. The Sweet Tea is perfect too. The brewing of tea has become a lost art like southern biscuits and Bristol BBQ nails it perfectly. I cannot say enough about this place. And the prices are great. The ideal roadside BBQ stand expense. I felt compelled to write this because I miss good Q. I've driven 1,500 miles on a BBQ road trip before to give you a hint of my obsession. Incredible pork barbecue. Sauce is the BEST I have ever tasted (except for the homemade sauce my wife's family made in Bells, TN...thirty years ago when they were alive). Pork platter has a healthy portion of excellent pork...try some without sauce...I always put some to the side to eat without sauce. Yum... Sides...TOTS are heartbreakingly good eith BBQ sauce on them but have NOT TRIED fries. Rumors are they are to DIE FOR. Found this place while exploring the region while at Trail Days. Very good BBQ, and VERY friendly service! I like that since there wasn't a line the owner got talking to us about our visit to the area. Say whatever you want, but this is why I love visiting the south. I find people are so much more friendly and welcoming once you get talking to them. And this business is no exception, friendly service makes a huge difference and is often rare where I am from. The BBQ was cooked perfect. I had the pulled pork. The loaded tots were amazing. The food tasted like sit down dining in a drive through. It's located in an old Java Js coffee drive through. The owner was actually working the window and when asked about purchasing the pork buy the pound he replied "any way you want it". Now that's service. Just called to place a office order for four employees. I was rudely told they don't take call ahead orders from 11-2 and can not accept orders for over five people. I did this to help the business have time to prepare the order. Guess what!? We normally have 9 employees here and we eat lunch everyday. We will not be eating here in the future and we have thrown away their menu from our restaurant menu stack! I think it's best we just part our ways and not purchase anything from you. Decent BBQ. I've tried the pulled pork and the ribs; they're both good. The ribs fall right off the bone and they use the big green egg smoker for all their smoked meats. Drive-through only. Edit: the last few times I've ordered the ribs, the meat did not fall of the bone. The meat didn't even pull off the bone. They seemed undercooked. Blackened on the outside, still tough on the inside. The BBQ nachos is something I've been trying from here lately, and it's pretty good. I actually request that they leave the cheese off because it looks highly processed and it doesn't even melt that well. The pulled chicken is a healthier alternative and is quite juicy. read more

I visit Bristol several times during the year. I have family there. I've driven by the location many times, and there's always cars in the drive line. I'm not a big BBQ eater but if it right I enjoy it. I do crave BRISKET. So I took a chance to purchase a brisket sandwich. They told me it been cooking for 17 hours and would be ready in and hour or so..... MUSIC TO MY EARS... Well, where can I blow a couple of hours .WALMART... OK Two hours fly by I'm back in line at the Bristol BBQ. I get my brisket sandwich with bake beans and mac and cheese. OMG All of the food was amazing !!!! I am real picky about bbq sauce. this sauce was the best. The bread or bun was a perfect accent to the moist brisket. 06/27/2014 - Great little place, take away only.. Had dinner there twice in one week. Pulled pork sandwich / coleslaw and potato salad. All were excellent. On Friday I had 1/2 rack of ribs, beans and slaw. OUTSTANDING! some of the very best I have had anywhere. You should try it out. The four Big Green Eggs in the hut beside the drive through gave the area a great smoky smell that made the food all that much better. I will eat here again anytime I am in Bristol. read more
