This is a coffee lovers coffee shop. They have a few nice pastries and cookies, but everything else is COFFEE. The cold brew is wonderful. I was on a quick run, so I popped in and out. I didn't have time to sample the espresso, but based on the quality of flavor in the cold brew, I'm sure the espresso is great. Worth the side trip if you're nearby. read more

Brioso pulled me in from how nice it looked outside. The inside felt like I should have waited in line to get in. It was very nice. The staff was very friendly, and the menus were intriguing. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. I ordered an iced latte and a seasonal collaboration drink. The latte tasted like a standard latte. The collaboration, however, probably shouldn't have been created. My partner and I both tasted it and disliked it so much that we just threw it away. I probably will not be returning here. Here's another good coffee shop if your in downtown Columbus. I tried something that I have never had before. The Cortado, this is a Spanish coffee made with equal parts espresso and steamed milk. It was very strong, but with a smooth and cream taste. Very nice seating and a great patio if it was warmer outside. read more

Nice neighborhood coffee shop on sw corner of grant and Long near Hills Market and Pierogi Mnt. It is less bougie than its neighbor across the street (Roosevelt) and today that was exactly what I was looking for. The shop has a long wall that separates two sides. Each side has high too wooden tables with about six chairs each. The people sitting there had no problem sharing tables with other customers once the shop began to get busy with customers. Nice vibe. The long wall separating the two haves helps control the noise so it makes an excellent place to sit and work while drinking coffee. Near the window on the second side is a vignette of two leather armchairs that face the window/ Long St. that spot is often over looked so I snatched it up and hung out for a while. The barista was friendly. What I like about this place is they will take your name and bring the coffee to you. They don't scream your name so everyone knows who you are no do you meed to focus on trying to hear your name. Big plus if you feel like just relaxing. Im not a huge fan of the roast they used today. I think it was Holy Grail. They have many roasts, so don't let that dissuade you from trying them. But they had honey and the milk was steamed perfectly. There was even an attempt at coffee art. (Hey, sometimes the milk just doesn't want to cooperate!) it was a 4/5 cuppa in my opinion. I enjoyed my half hour there. read more

Bright clean cafe. I don't think they have any food options beyond a very small pastry cabinet. Staff is friendly. I had a latte. I have to tell you, I really appreciate a cafe that uses real glass or real cups for guest staying to enjoy their drink. It makes a difference for me. Seems small but elevated the experience. Looking for a spot not to far from my hotel. Brioso is in a great area, that's easily accessible! The barista was nice, and asked to confirm my order, which I appreciated. The service was incredibly quick, and I was in and out in 5 minutes. The coffee was alright. Nothing super special, but I like my mochas to not be super sweet, and Brioso's wasn't, which I appreciate. I also got a cinnamon croissant which was phenomenal. It's hard to find a good pastry but this one was delicious. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like sweet pastries. However, I was craving one, and this hit the spot! read more

My order everywhere is usually a triple shot, almond milk latte. For some reason, it's a HUGE ask for a triple shot. Not to pull the card "I used to be a barista" but I know how shots are pulled and I've never had somewhere make me feel so awkward about wanting a triple shot. Not to mention, the customer service is incredibly lack luster- maybe it's just not my type of environment and that's ok, this was just my expirience. We had just finished our coffees from Winans (very good) when we started getting hungry. We were going to have breakfast here, since the photos of the food on Yelp looked really good. Low and behold they only had a few bakery items in a small case. When I asked the counter staff, he simply pointed to the bakery case. Not what I was looking for dude. To be fair, their baked goods did look tasty, but it wasn't what we wanted. We decided to go elsewhere. Aside: I've heard their coffee is very good. I've been a fan of Brioso Coffee for a while. However, I've always found myself at their other location. Well, the other day I was on a brisk morning walk and towards the end, a cup of joe sounded amazing. I walked by to see they were open and I jumped for joy that I brought my mask and card with me. The space is clean and bright and set up perfectly for COVID-19. They had social distancing marks on the ground, contactless payment setup, and all that jazz. They are currently advertising a seasonal menu and I was ecstatic to see my all time favorite coffee drink on it... the lavender latte!! Obviously I ordered that (with oat milk), over ice and waited patiently. I enjoyed it as I continued my walk home and honestly, it was at the top of my list of lavender lattes in Columbus. I wish they had it year round! The lavender flavor wasn't too sweet and was just enough to give me more than just a plain 'ol latte. And trust me, I've had a lot of them and all over the country. While I'm sure this specific drink won't stay too long, I do always suggest trying an item off their seasonal menu. No matter the time of year, there's always something great on there. I have nothing but good things to say about Brioso coffee Downtown: whether it will be the convenient location at the corner of Gay and High Street or for the $2 espresso that they happen to have around for loose grounds to be utilize. This place has been around for all your delicious coffee needs. The workers are awesome and are very helpful when it comes to trying to understand what the menu is featuring. I am a huge fan of the honey latte. So loving so sweet! Warm or cold, a delicious drink such as this will improve your holiday cheer and give you that late pep for the rest of your work shift! I enjoy the space in this cafe. In the warmer months you can look out the window and watch Columbus upkeep its growing metropolitan status with all the new buildings being built and renovated. I came at 8am on a Wednesday and there were a few people here and there grabbing coffee or bagels or sitting having work meetings. As I stayed close to 10, it started to get busier. I guess this is the closest option for government and other business people! I decided to get some herbal tea, but they only had two options: blood orange or lemon chamomile. I opted for the lemon chamomile which came fresh! It was light and nothing spectacular. I will say that the baristas are really nice. They come out from behind the counter to give you your toasted bagel and give great customer service. The space is interesting. It's an elongated room with chairs and tables and couches. It felt like a hangout space...but for professional people. It's got a hole in the wall vibe, but the customers weren't hipster by any means. You can definitely hang around a while here. It's a lot larger of a space than I thought! I'm sure I'll return to try their coffee! read more

One of my favorite places to meet for coffee. I'll echo everybody else's sentiments on a few common points I see in reviews: Parking: it's downtown, right in the heart of it all so yes parking is tough. And don't forget the Pearl Market also absorbs even more precious parking when its in season. Be warned; you will need to find a meter and walk a bit to get here. Quirky: yes, it's a local joint. There are wobbly tables and your coffee mug might have a chip on it, but that--to me--adds charm. Coffee: good. Very good. The staff knows their coffee and always makes great recommendations when I am unsure of what to get. I absolutely LOVE their seasonal beverage options. They usually feature a few hot and cold drinks, plus at least one caffeine-free option. My all-time fave is their Honey Lavender Latte or their Earl Grey Latte with Rose syrup. You won't find these flavor profiles at Starbucks (although they get plenty of my money too). I usually just get a mug of whatever drip coffee they're brewing and it's never let me down. Food: I've never had more than a bagel here so I can't speak much about the food. Finally, they offer rewards if you pay with your CC. Every month or so, you'll get a code for a discount on your next drink or a bag of beans. I give them an extra kudos for doing that--not many small businesses have the capability to pull off a digital rewards program. read more

Love this coffee shop! I work remote and take a lot of zoom calls. This location is great for that because it's not very loud and has great lighting. Additionally, the coffee and specialty coffees were very good. The staff was really polite and even offered me a complimentary drip coffee because I was there for several hours. The only thing that sucks is that it's only open until lunch. It's best known for the coffee. The coffee here comes in several forms. There's regular brewed coffee of course. Hey, this is not just any coffee shop. Why get the same thing you can get anywhere. If you're looking for something new there's the more complex techniques. The pour over method is fun to watch. It's a good place if you've never tried it. The food menu must not be forgotten though. It has some vegetarian options. The vegetable hummus sandwich is the best of these. It's about $7 which isn't bad. The only bad thing is parking which sucks anywhere around it. I would tell coffee fans to go to Cafe Brioso. It's a fun way to get experienced with pour overs. This little coffee shop is only four blocks away from the convention center so it a nice getaway from conference stress if you ever need one. You do tell the staff about food orders before going to the cash register to order drinks and pay for everything. The staff is really nice. Especially the baristas. One of them remade my drink because I didn't hear it get called so it got cold. They have a really good breakfast sandwich! Their honey and vanilla latte was delicious too. Stopped here for breakfast when I was staying downtown. Ordered an egg sandwich on biscuit and honey vanilla latte. Latte was good. Mild in flavor but yet you could still taste the honey and vanilla. Egg sandwich was also good and filling. They make their biscuits homemade on site, which you can tell. The biscuit was the best part of the sandwich. So buttery, moist and fell apart to the touch.
