So far I've been taking the slow flow class both days a week which has been a heaven sent, as well as a warm (95 degrees, not really warm imo) flow, a non heated vinyasa, and multi-instrumental sound meditation! I will say that I wish the unlocking of the door 15 minutes before class was reliable, often there's no one at the desk or if there is they don't really speak to you. That's mostly fine with me because I'm there to be a ball of energy, but what I wanted to say was ladies - please, we don't need to see your bare bottom at every spare glance up or around in the locker room. Please change in the private toilet rooms provided. Would make everyone more comfortable!!

However, their other locations, like Atlanta, feel completely neglected by comparison. It seems clear that corporate priority has shifted almost entirely toward expanding their barre and Core Fusion offerings at the expense of traditional practice. After over a year of membership, I ultimately decided to cancel. The monthly cost simply no longer justified the value, especially as the culture shifted heavily toward the ultra-physical--a push-harder, get-skinny mindset that feels rooted in superficiality rather than wellness. The instructor lineup reflects this shift, with those teaching the most intense, workout-driven classes being rewarded with more time slots, while traditional yoga instructors have either left or had their schedules drastically cut.

Active Sol Yoga is located in Buckhead on Bennett Street, which is right off Peachtree St. If you were familiar with Frank Ski's Restaurant & Lounge, then that's the street you turn in on to get there. Otherwise, you might easily pass the street since the street sign is a bit obscured. Once you turn onto Bennett, you drive almost all the way to the end of the street but take a left onto short street and the studio is located at the building at the top of the street. Hope that makes sense. I do like that it's away from the hustle & bustle of Peachtree Street. Upon arriving you'll see some benches on the right, a window (checking in) to the left and then an open area with cubbies to put your things in, apparel for sale and a clean restroom. They have too big, open studios with lots of natural light. Always a plus! Krishaunda lead our session. She started us with Vinyasa flow and ended our last 20 minutes with Restorative yoga. She was very nice. And I liked that she went around the class and helped to guide us into positions correctly. I was (& still am) pretty relaxed. I've only been in the upstairs studio, which is clean, bright, and surprisingly cool given the hellish temperatures outside. They have plenty of blankets and bolsters to help you out if you need it, as well. My class was with Doug and he was great: didn't move too fast but wasn't painfully slow, always providing advice for how to make a move easier or more difficult. He was also always sure to give repeat instructions on when to inhale vs exhale: the thing I found most difficult.
